Discussion: Paragon Times - 70 Years In Office
Nice article.
I know it's too late at this stage if they aren't in, but I'd love to see the Blood of the Black Stream brought into I11. They'd be very unhappy that someone is screwing with the Giant Circuit.
Also, there have already been hints that most zones are going to see at least minor changes as a result of I11.

Can you point to that reference?
Ahem, if I may have a moment to note something I think I may have solved.
I do notbelieve the new wallpaper has anything to do with Nemesis..

What I did just realize was that the snake wallpaper could actually be related to this, if Lord Recluse and Manticore are in South America...
It says on Wikipedia (if you trust it) that Quetzalcoatl was sometimes represented in Aztec Mythology with an Ouroboros symbol
connection maybe?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes that is true about Quetzalquatal. Perhaps it has to do with the event's of the winter solsctice of 2012. After all Kuklakan and Questalquatal are probable related since they were both beareded.
I love how the devs are hyping this issue. It's made a lot of people, me included to start thinking what could this all mean for Issue 11.
I also find it amusing that Lighthouse posted the announcement with a grinning face "" on the title of it. They know! They know, we'll be all excited with this. The devs and community guys are now just grinning and smiling at us! I just know it!

Recluse dosen't rule? Manti and Recluse working together to mop up rebels? I GOT IT! Dr. Aeon and the 5th Column are screwing around with the space time continuum!
[/ QUOTE ]
Why does he need the 5th's help? And why would they help him cause their defeat in WWII?
[/ QUOTE ]
The 5th is weak thanks to council and perhaps can change it using timetravel(or multiversal travel since timetravel is phsically impossibe seeing as how time is not a destination), and Aeon has accesss to this tech. While short sighted and nable to see the big picture (see states tf) he is brillant enough to understand that if the 5th never fell then he could rule the planet!

Yes like i said about Kuclakan and 2012 winter solstice, but one problam. It is 2007 now,and in game i think it's 2005.(the obituraies in rouge sland protecter).
hmmm i do like the build up of an alternate timeline, but i do clearly remember the devs saying that issues 9-12 story lines would be tied together........
Now back to speculation in this alternate demension will we encounter Hero-1 since from all signs so far the rikti never invaded this time line, and if we encounter hero-1..... wow that just opens up even more questions....
Perhaps...Aeon goes far enough back to stop Statesman and Recluse from drinking from the Well of Furies? Thus, Recluse isn't powerful enough to take over the Isles...Another co-op TF that sends you all the way to the Well to defeat Dr. Aeon and his legion 5th Column allies? I haven't actually read the book, but didn't Recluse and States drink from it shortly before WWII? I seem to recall "1937" somwhere...well into Nazi reign.
You fight Requiem and Vandal, then go for a final showdown with Aeon in the Well of Furies. Reward=Incarnates unlocked.
And so, I will make an Odin Incarnate
I'm thinking that perhaps these newspaper articles are evidence of a changing timeline. As in, the breakout article mentioned Recluse in the Isles, and it was true when that article was written, but a further change caused Recluse to have never succeeded, as reflected in this newer article.

love3 this idea devs implement it!!!! i mean seriously what better way to introduce incarnates by having the playerbase go back to the well of the furies to alter time to make sure states is able to drink its water....

This makes me think of something else. Several different things actually. If this is a "Jump back and change stuff" from Aeon, what if he went back and either:
A) Gave Nemesis newer technology to help his fake heroes take over the Rikti homeworld and integrate his mind into their network.
B) Hero-1 defeated the invading Rikti, closed the portal, and EVERYONE returned safely with no chances of the Rikti ever coming back again.
C) Everyone had cake since the Rikti are actually friendly in this alternate reality and they just visited to have a picnic.
I don't knows... the third one was something actually good but I got distracted by something IRL and it took me away long enough to actually forget. Either way, mayhaps one of the two serious like ones actually happened and there has yet to be an aftermath. We'll just have to wait for more crumbs from the Devs as we "patiently" await I11.

I still think it definitely has something to do with the Aztecs/Quetzalcoatl - Mu and Oranbega maybe?

I sincerely hope Recluse and Manticore aren't searching for Aztecs in South America... that's Incan territory.

It's worse than that, Jim....
The article mentions Columbia. The Mayans were in what is now Guatemala. The Aztecs were in what is now Mexico. If you're talking about Columbia then the local mass-murdering-city-dwellers were the Inca. (And even that's on the border fringes of the Inca's largest expansion.)

To Devs:
I hate you. I hate all of you. I've got enough tinfoil-hat conspiracy garbage screwing with my mind on a daily basis that I DON'T NEED THIS CRUD! I did the whole ilovebees thing, I was shocked that Digger did it, I still think the Smoking Man is quite possibly alive, I know about the Christ in a Rose tattoo, I twitch when someone says "Would you kindly", I know who Keyser Soze really is, I hunted down Namaste and Dharma... and I'm done! I'm sick of this crap! Either tell me exactly what's gonna happen, or leave me alone! AND QUIT SCARING ME WITH CRUD WHEN I MAKE ALTS AND GO THROUGH THE TUTORIALS!

Holy Timetravel Manticore!!!
This is going to be fun; My favorite Hero Character is My Trick Arrows/Archery defender Gorgon-Girl (Teen sidekick to the Manticore- and yes i do realize i'm the only person on planet earth who loves those powersets). I'm going to have to totally re-do her origin and make her about redeming the mantle of the "crimson archer" in the wake of manticore's betrayl

I mean, the whole reason that the 5th column were taken out of the game was because in order to succesfully market co* in Europe, the nazi references had to be taken out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dude, where have you been? That's been debunked a thousand times over.
[/ QUOTE ]
Would it be any more palatable if we suddenly said that Nazis were now uber-marketable? "City of Heroes - Now, with more Nazis! CoX is Na-zi-licious!"
And yeah, what Sadako said. That argument was SO February 2005.

Ok Something I had a major tick about, first of all I want to state that I am Colombian (no letter U in the spelling of that it's 2 O's) and the thing with "Los United States" come on it would be something else you make us sound silly "Los Estados Unidos" is what we would say.
(I'm not complaining about the drug trafficking thing, because in reality there is alot of that happening) and if somehow a Colombian villains groups makes it into a game I'm I'd love to play just to get rid of the ones making my people look bad.
In all honesty though I'd like to say thanks to the devs and everyone for making a great game and including my people and country in a short part of the story and mythos that is City of Heroes/Villains
If Manti and Recluse are working together to fix the timeline (or to alter it), it must have happened after Manti turned evil. Why pretend to be that violent, make up a story about how you killed your parents, if you were going to fix something? If this was something to do for the greater good, why all the subterfuge?
Manti may be a double agent (and hence, not actually be working together with Recluse, rather using him). But I think it is more like "Look how much things are different!" situation than one where Manti is still good. Now whether or not this situation is an altered timeline or a parallel universe (I am hoping parallel universe. Because although the do exist now, we don't really get to explore them past the standard maps we see everywhere) is up for debate.

I don't think the first Paragon Times Article and this one inhabit the same timeline. Wasn't Recluse still in charge of the Rogue Isles in the first one? I think we're dealing with two seperate (maybe two of many?) time lines here.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct. The last article stated "Recluse of the Rogue Isles" while this one take him completely out of the Rogue Isles and into South America. But both mention the Outbreak Plague being out of hand.

Then whoever is messing with the timeline is still doing it, they haven't found what they're looking for yet I'd imagine.
(sorry, didn't read through all the pages before posting this)
So, Manticore has gone from hero to a Villain, eh? And we're potentially dealing with a parallel universe, eh?
Does this mean if my Dominator enters this dimension, her history there is that of a hero? Could this be the whole "change" system we were hoping for long ago (Hero--->Villain/Villain--->Hero)?
If this is time travel, teh easiest way to implement it would be through a story arc of missions or a TF. You simply go back in time to said-event-in-danger-of-changing and make sure he/she behind it all does not alter our timeline. So if you have a chance to save Hero-1 instead of faltering the Rikti Attack, you still must let him make the sacrifice.

Yes. He/she is not finished. Whatever event they are changing, even mundane, will cause a ripple in the time fabric which is still altering our present.
