Placate is bugged
Seriously? i15 is coming out in like a week and they still havn't fixed placate???
Thats kinda sad..
Well we all know that this is CITY OF BLASTERS, and if they would fix it, blasters would be in harms way, so... maybe they will fix it in issue 17, since in issue 16 they are giving blasters 1000% resistance to all with a 1000% debuff protection to all.
On my stalker i have the same thing happen to me i placate some one and seems like right after i do they can hit me thats very odd.

If they haven´t gotten it to work in 4(soon) years why not just scrap the power and redesign it completely?
Simple economics:
Stalker AT is least popular, spending time on the smallest population is a waste of resources.
When something good happens to me, I can never enjoy it....

I just want to say: I was around when this thread was first posted, and I'm still waiting.
Is Placate (still) suffering from the Debuff/DoT Bug which prevents aggro from being cleared? And if so ... does that mean that Placate is extremely broken in the presence of Incarnate Interface slotting?

Ok, I have to ask. This topic is from 2006. When stalkers were first introduced. Why the bloody hell hasn't this been fixed?

I don't know about DoTs but I can't say I've noticed this problem with my Ninja Blade stalker's defense debuffs. Placate pretty much works for me. Not incarnat'd yet, so we'll see. To be fair though I am also a defense-based stalker who does not RELY on the actual placate effect. I use it for the Hidden status.
As to why it hasn't been fixed... I'm not going to re-read this whole thread but wasn't it determined to be one of those tricky client-server race-condition type of timing issues that is difficult or impossible to address without serious changes to the design? Kind of like how the occasional double-crit-after-placate thing isn't "fixed" either.

IIRC it's a problem with how the AI reacts to debuffs.
Basically the debuff effects cause notification, however they have coded the AI to ignore debuffs, but sometimes it forgets to ignore things. Or something like that.
It's a similar problem with Longbow Eagles and their autohit PBAoE notification aura.
Basically things that shouldn't be notifying the enemies, end up notifying the enemies.
EDIT: forgot to mention that this was mostly a PvP issue, that sometimes rears it's head in PvE.
It's almost non-existent in PvE, save for a few corner cases. DoT (I believe) counts as a separate attack notification, so that would alert the mobs. Also, the end drain from elec melee didn't get flagged for ignore at first, so that would always trigger it as well. I'm not sure if that's been changed yet or not.

But yea i think it was said a LONG time ago that this bug would be really hard to fix in the current system. I don't know if this will change now that they have alot more bodies on the dev team. But one can only hope.
