But if we ignore the target cap, today is definitely more powerful. The level of general survivability today is something you couldn't even imagine in the old days.

Pretty much this, if we had the endless aggro cap we would be right on par with pre-ED.
  2. Well I have a ss/fire brute I've put a lot of hard work into and spines/fire without the incarnate work but is slotted very solid both great for farm runs. But obviously the brute is more efficient because of incarnate work but before incarnate I used my scrapper just as much as the brute.

Fury and Critical's kept their damage pretty much on par with each other but my brute definitely had much more boss killing power via Knockout Blow. The scrapper could kill bosses but not nearly as fast so I would change my tactics and instead of focusing on one boss I'd move on to the next group and let them soak up my aoe damage and they'd die off.

Of course this varies depending on the brutes primary but spines/fa is still does very very well for farms but unlike scraps /fa brutes can couple many primary's and still farm well so you'll see them much more often in my opinion.
  3. Well if it didn't have fulcrum,sb,unlimited endurance and its own travel power I would say it is a little lacking, being the fact that it does....any kins lff?!!!?!?! lol
  4. Lighting rod wins, everytime. Now you woulda asked me this a couple months ago it woulda been a hard question.

Think about an ITF - we all know to hit the surgeons to make it easier to take out the Elite Bosses. The problem is, the way aggro is calculated, there's no way for the enemy to figure that out.

So here's my question: what if player targeted or PBAoE buffs also had a taunt component?

First, I realize it's way too radical of a change to ever get implemented. This is all rhetorical and pretendy fun time games.

Just think about it for a moment. What would it actually do? The empathy defender uses Heal Other on a player, which creates a gauntlet like taunt to five enemies within a radius of that player. PBAoE buffs, like Accelerate Metabolism or Mind Link taunt any enemy in radius of the heal. Toggle powers like Dispersion Bubble, even the one FFG produces, become slight taunt auras.

I think this would produce an effect of seemingly smarter enemies. Suddenly the real threats become easier to see. "Hey, I'm not going to kill anyone while that FFG is giving the team softcapped defenses." It may force us to play smarter, or make good tanks more valuable.

    What do you think?
I dunno man it sounds great to me but when u mess with people's "put it in a closed in group and blow it up" formula ppl it would force out all the noobs who dont have to think whatsoever to kill things and spam "lvl 1 blaster boss farm!!" and the tanks who don't take taunt and......wait those are all good things.

    Super Strength

Yeah you don't really know super strength till you see it in something like champions online, but like u said the engine cant support that kind of stuff. I don't think there is much we can do about super strength but I certainly wont turn down your suggestion, it certainly has some presentation issue's as compared with other powers.
  7. Since no one is being real with you, no its not decent for anykind of farming since the nerf. If you want to play a dom go for control more than damage...not that doms don't have damage but after permadom nerf and thier so called "balancing"...yeah go for control, if u want to farm play a brute.
  8. Funny you should ask Eiko-chan, I've been messing around with a nin/traps who's 37 atm, they're just pretty rare out there so its no wonder no one has mentioned it >_<. Anyway nin/traps is fantastic, I use the seeker drones (which many ppl dont for some reason) and it really seems to help me out every spawn with the -tohit (which i have it slotted for) and they can sort of take alpha. Although I use the *Ima tp u in my traps foo!!!* method so it rly wouldn't matter what my primary is...i tp it, kill it, move on. I couldn't rly tell you how thier survivability is because everything is too debuffed and mezzed up to even hit em', lol.
  9. Ive picked up snow storm and slotted it accordingly and i have to agree with the comments, its quite good for bosses and lts, not so much minions because thier mostly quick attacks. All in all i think i'll be keeping that but skipping tornado and thunderclap (ofcourse). Or if i do pick up tornado it'll be one of those (eh i dont have anything else useful to take right now anyway) y'know?
  10. U know I would probably take boomerang attacks over dp they probably coulda did more with it, ofcourse then we'd have a bunch of robin's father's killer running around but that would have been interesting to see a power set with a double attack chances and they could still pull off the dp damage if it has a chance to attack twice anyway. But im getting off subject here >_>.....
  11. This was extremely helpful and I found his guide, thankyou very much ^_^
  12. Hm... between sd/ss,sd/fire,fire/ss its a very very hard choice. Just because im more familar with it i'd go fire/ss, but next to sd/ss the damage is very close with the burn changes, it rly depends on what you prefer. Do you want to attack with a shield or have fire around your body? Ether way the damage is going to be pretty much the same.
  13. My first toon was a MA/SR and I have never been without elude, but with io's ive been debating it. Personaly I like it for conept( A burst of extreme reflexes) but do you need it because of the defense with io's nowdays? Not really, I do enjoy the running speed and endurance but elude is something I dont think I could ever give up because ive been stuck with it way too long.
  14. DP.....bleh....stupidly enough i'll play assault rifle over it....ofcourse my friend shawn will strangle me with the "its fun and it lookz so coolz!" Yeah but.....stuff wont die damnit!
  15. My best pvp stalker? Well I still love my old school em/regen but dm/wp pretty much beats that at everything now and just plain rocks, rocks, rocks, mutha effin rocks.
  16. Im sure i'll be put over a fire and burned like a witch in saying I dont like dp at all. But if I had to say what was the worse animation I would agree with piercing bullets, as said....throwing your guns in the air? wtf....why am i doing this....*respec*
  17. Yeah I kinda figured they where trying to makes kin melee=psi melee....and no it doesn't hardly have a psi feel to it for me. Its more like using Tai Chi energy melee style. I still wait for psi melee, phase melee, force melee.....anything of the sort.
  18. I agree with werner, lil bit higher dps, lil better to spam.
  19. Well to answer your queston, no I dont think you'll miss burst. If it was pre i18 yeah you mite, but with the recent change the damage will more then make up for burst. Take burn, ditch burst, grab fiery embrace and dont look back.
  20. DS ive got figured out but Storm I have no exp in. Ofcourse ive seen storm in action many times and its like radiation, its an extremely powerful debuff set. I know some things should be taken and slotted accordingly but like many debuff sets it may look good on paper but isn't ingame. Is there anything I should completely avoid in the set or frakenslot or take for absolute sure? Pretty much the only thing I know should be taken and slotted for sure is Freezing Rain.

    TF duo

One more question, why /SD? I would think /SR could do it better besides the fact of holding agro compared to shield.
  22. I dual box to farm myself.

    TF duo

Alright so I guess my next question would be suggestions on a DM/SD build for that, cold/sonic I can handle but I haven't had the best of luck with DM/SD, not much expierance in the DM department.
  24. Rinkoz

    TF duo

Hey guys, Im no tf pro Im a farming pro, but a friend of mine loves taskforces hes done alot for me so I decided I would make a taskforce duo with him and would pay for both of our builds, cost isn't a problem ive got plenty of money villain or hero side, I have much more hero side so if I would rather make heroes but ether or is fine. Does anyone have any suggestions for two toons that could run every task force (cept respec tf I sapose) well together?

Beside regens can live through shraks pretty easy.
Damn they can? Ive been killing regen scrappers with sharks for months, I wish somebody told me, now killing a blaster with a shark? Now THAT'S crazy talk! >_>
