A fix for Group Teleport will be coming in I8.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh? So you're finally replacing Group Teleport with something useful?
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT.
I use TP self as my travel power. TP foe and Recall friend are both very useful powers.
Now, remind me again why it was that I was going to take group TP? I can't get it until I hit level 20, yet 99.999% of players I team with will have had a travel power for three plus levels by that time.
And for the other 0.001% I'll just TP self to the mission door (or wherever), and then Recall friend.
Scrappers are just like chainsaws. Somewhat hard to handle, EXTREMELY dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane.
@Alissara - an Angry Angel
The Angry Angels. When it absolutely positively has to be spanked today.
Any plans to change Recluses Victory to make it more PVP friendly/desiarable. If you werent aware, which many times devs are not, overworked etc, the zone is basically used for leveling now and when you try to pvp in it you are usually scolded for bothering the people and they eventually leave.
Also the Heavies, turrets, and huge mobs of NPCs make PvP down right annoying Posi. Its not "difficult" or "challenging", just annoying.
Also the reward (for recluse's victory) completely sucks.
I've never gotten a robot of my own - way to much effort* is required - but it's one use, and it's worse in every way than a Shivan. (which of course has 5 uses)
*Assuming there isn't some cheeseball way to earn it without engaging in pvp. Which would complete the circle as far as pvp zones go. The only worthwhile pvp zone rewards either require no pvp or are best achieved without pvp. (Namely: Shivans, chemical & bio warheads, and the patrol powers)

Teleport fix should be in the next patch as well, as well as some code for memory leaks and other nastiness.
A fix for Group Teleport will be coming in I8.
Patron Respec issue should be fully solved in the next patch as well.
Dominators are getting a buff that should make them more desireable on LRSF in I8 as well.
Lt.s should be spawning in missions again (I don't know if this is fixed in the patch, or was fixed in I8).
We are constantly datamining PvP, seeing which side is winning more. The results are not what you expect. One side wins, then the other side, then the balance shifts back, and then back again.
I had 2 PM's in my box, back to back. The first was "Stalkers are useless in PvP" and the next was "Stalkers are overpowered in PvP". The grass is always greener they say...
Our lead programmer has been doing nothing but fixing bugs since I7 was released. He mentioned to me the other day that he hadn't written one line of code that was only in I8. We -are- trying to get the major issues fixed, but eventually the new issue has to come out, and that gobbles up the Training Room server, and we have to button down new fixes until that Issue goes to Live.
The next patch for I7 is not in NC Soft's hands yet, but will be shortly. You can expect it on the Training Room once it has passed their internal QA process.
And yes, all of this bug fixing has pushed out I8 beyond the original "September" estimate I gave back in May.
[/ QUOTE ]
It looks like most of the bugs that seemed to silently mock me are going the way of the dodo.
Teleport fix? YAY! Hoepefully,as others have stated, they change group teleport to be like that temp power - because THATS useful.
Memory leaks? YAY!
Patron respec issue? Dominator love? PvP attention? Add to that the audio loop fix (hopefully) and this game just got 50% more fun to play, IMO.
Thanks, Posi. I guess it shows that they ARE (to an extent) giving the customer what it wants. They cant fix EVERYTHING now. But Im pretty happy with what is coming.

That's just funny. Not entirely untrue though. In certain situations, Stalkers are extremely powerful. In other situations, they really are almost useless (and I'm just talking about PvP here, PvE is another subject entirely). I think those 2 PM's are reflections of the binary nature of Stalkers.
I'm not complaining, mind you, and I have no idea how you could "fix" Stalkers without breaking them. Feel free to ignore me.

I really appreciate this. Some people will get all DOOOOOOMMMMM on you, but don't worry about it.
Also, thank you very much (again) for this series of threads. It's always nice to know what you guys are working on.

Instead of datamining, why don't you PvP? Play all the ATs in open PvP zones against non-devs..then tell us that PvP is balanced..
PvP will never be balanced, if the villans/heroes have a group of dominators/controllers constantly spamming mass holds on the opposing force then there is very little that can be done. There will always be people stacking multiple tactics to see past a stalkers Stealth abilities, there will always be brutes and tankers teleporting each other around to pick them off one at a time. Corruptors and blasters will continue to slot their sniper attacks for range and recharge, and sit back snipering.
Ofcourse, who would want to play PvP if they introduced something like limiting a certain number of ATs to a PvP zone at any one time?
If the good guy gets the girl, it's rated PG;
If the bad guy gets the girl, it's rated R;
And if everybody gets the girl, it's rated X

No one has explained yet why its a DEVELOPERS problem that people dont look at their [censored] tray?
[/ QUOTE ]
Answer this question. Before the original change removing rewards from the Phalanx, how many empty tray slots did you need to recieve your shoe?
If you said 1 or 2, you are way off. From what I understand, you had to have 3 slots open. (or was it 4?). The original version had some unfortunate effects that made it ridiculously easy to lose your shoe. The quick fix to remove rewards was bad because it killed big inspirations.
This is a good change. Not perfect, but it's still good.

The problem came in the fact that Statesman's SO drops were random and unexpected.
Going into it, you'd think you'd get 1 SO for each AV. The first time we did it, we had everyone clear 2 spots at the end before taking down Statesman. The result? Statesman dropped 4 SOs, blocking those with 2 open slots from HOs.
An easier fix would have been to just limit States to 1 SO drop, but this fix is better, especially if people can still get a reward for doing the SF before the 24 hour timer is done.

The data is probably useless because there are so few people doing it at any one time all it takes is a couple of extra players on either side to swing the balance of power. Certainly doesn't help with you get some yahoo that can do nothing but buff come in and take over an EB Heavy and turn it into an AV quallity ally that they can control.

You are full of it. Why would that even matter, when most of the time it is really whoever is the most organized wins. You could have 6 heroes preventing 15 from leaving the base in Siren's call just because they have their stuff together, and the villains don't pay as much attention because there is more of them. I have seen 8 Villains charge into the heart of the Fort in BB with at least 12 Heroes trying to stop them at any given time. It's not so much that the zones are so empty, as to the fact that a crack squad can dominate. Even if it were more populated, it would be whoever had two or three crack squads running around as opposed to one. Numbers don't turn the tide in CoX, organization does. It has been proven in PvP so very often.

* "Looping Sound Crash" - We think we MAY have this finally fixed.
* "Invisible Players/Enemies on Map" - Again, we think we may have this fixed.
* Choice table for Lord Recluse's Strike Force. - Upon completion of the mission, you will get a choice table, instead of the Enhancements simply being put into your tray (and if your tray is full, put into oblivion). You will NOT be able to pick the specific Synthetic Hami-O, but you will be able to choose a +3 level SO instead of the random SHOE if you want.
Yes this means that the Freedom Phalanx will drop SO's again.
I don't know when these will be hitting Training Room, but these will probably be the last big fixes in I7... onward to Issue 8!!!

* Debt in PvP Zones. Currently we "Pro-Rate" debt depending on how much damage you took from NPCs vs. PCs. When this is fixed we will zero out any debt if the killing blow comes from PCs, and Pro-Rate debt if the killing blow comes from NPCs.
* Salvage disappearing from storage objects. If you click too fast, some salvage may get lost in the transaction when pulling from a Storage Object. This is a high priority bug to fix.
* Back Alley Brawler gives debt in Recluse's Victory. Yeah, he was not set up as "debt free". Sorry.
* Ability to drop missions. Coming soon!(TM) I know this will make a lot of players happy that they don't need to contact Customer Service just to continue thier story arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
How many of these have been through QA, on the Test Server or pushed to Live? Can we clear the Top Issues 8.10 list before we move onto the next one? I posted on the falling damage = debt "bug" nearly 5 months ago iirc and to date we have had nothing but this small announcement that it was on the short list of fixes. Give us an update on the last list.

That's kind of the point, really. Sure, organization > numbers if the opposition is disorganized and that's a good percentage of what zone PvP is. Many of the top end PvP guilds simply avoid the zones since it's just not a challenge unless there is some organized opposition.
Throw on top of that the collusion factor of villains and heroes letting each other take over pillboxes back and forth to farm sigs for badges and turrets for XP and datamining RV is just not a very good way to judge balance.
The problems are much more evident when both sides are organized and tuned - that happens very infrequently in the zones. The only place that reliably happens is in the arena. And how many guilds run SHW villain teams against hero teams competitively now? Hear the sound of crickets?
Positron, and I say this with all due respect, doesn't have a flipping clue about PvP balance if he's judging it based off of datamining RV.

THANK YOU SIR!!!
Edit: If it pushes back I8 . . . so be it. Better to do it right then get the AGGRO you all got from people saying "bring out I7 now" and then "how comes I7 has so many bugs and slows down my computer".
Get it right I say. October, November . . . Wings, Trenchcoats, a 5th costume slot, newspaper-type missions for COH, a potentially new COH zone . . . yeah, its worth the wait.

How about Masterminds, Stalkers, and Brutes other than stone?
[/ QUOTE ]
what about Masterminds? bubbles, dark, traps, all valuable for -Regen quality (except Bubbles and I don't know about TA), they don't need a buff.
what about Stalkers? they're there for burst damage...like this hasn't changed since lvl 1
what about Brutes? don't make a SA Brute seem like it's superior, they can go down just as hard and fast.
I am curious to what this buff for Doms are...since they recently got one if I'm not mistaken
You can try to say there are uses for them on the RSF.
That doesn't change the FACT that they can't get an invite to one to save their lives.
is it their fault though? I think not. The SF's design doesn't favor Stalkers since they're just pure damage. But ya know what? I've had three successful RSF runs and we had one stalker in two of the three time. Masterminds and Doms can't get a invite? that's a load of [censored], same thing for other Brute types.
I find your "fact" not only flawed, but stupid.
My first successful RSF team consisted of...
3 Brutes - 2 Stone, 1 Fire
2 Masterminds - 1 Dark, 1 Bubbles
2 Corruptors - none were /Rad or /Kin from what I remember
1 Dominator - believe she was Ice
the other stone brute, the dominator and one of the corruptors were people that completed the SF successfuly and knew what to do about pulling.
[ QUOTE ]
Certain ATs, however, can just solo kill. Blasters (/em and /el blappers especially) and stalkers are deadly. 2-3 hits from the blapper, 2 from the stalker, and it's death. And among them, the Stalker has a huge advantage against anyone he can see that cannot see him.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, make my Stalker equal to any Scrapper with the same build and you can take HIDE right out of PvP for all I care.

If that was indeed true then we would see everyone being invited to do the RSF instead of just Stone Brutes and Corruptors with the occassional pity slot for a friend. It stretches the imagination beyond all reasonable belief that the team you list above could do it currently.

I love how when people say they have done it without an optimal team they are immediately discounted. I also have completed it with non-optimal teams. I.E. no Kins or Rads, heck of the 7 times I have complteded it only once was with a Stone Brute and only once had a full brute & corruptor team. Heck a couple times we failed, we had Kins, Rads, and Stone.
