    Cryptic coolness

    Oh cool! I can finally get that animation I've always wanted to make: feigning death. Ideal in those situations when a lev50 ambush is running upto my lev30 toon! Maybe they'll attack, maybe they'll run past - help me animation help!

    No temp powers from outside the arena function there, the vet reward powers are "permenant" temp powers and are not allowed.

    That sucks on many levels. The main level is the fun level. I think the nem staff has to be the best, all purpose weapon in the game. I've only had it for 2 months now, but it is instrumental in most of my PvE encounters.

    I use it the way Dr Who uses his sonic screw driver: from picking locks in bank doors and reading news papers in mayham missions, saving team mates when I'm tanking (taunt aint what it used to be), to pulling single minions out of mobs to thin out their numbers. And every time it knocks someone down, a hero is allowed to be revived in the hospital. Its that good!

    And not having it in the arena makes me look at my build and power choices every time - Did I really need to choose taunt, or recall friend..?

    If I participated in the arena more often then my team-friendly powers would be gone in place for more attack powers to complete my attack cycles. There is nothing worse than having 10 seconds of nothing to do.

    I'm not sure if the power can be classed as a temporary power because I use it so often it makes my super jump look brand new.

    Sorry to say but I'm used to being denied the right to use powers.

    Like every time when I'm in the arena, cant use my nemesis staff. Whats wrong with using the nemesis staff? I dont know. Its just 1 power I cant seem to use.. maybe its because I'm unlucky?

    So why not extend the idea onto all the powers that a minority of people dont like? Vengence today, clear mind tomorrow, granite armor next week.

    Well the easy fix is to prevent being able to use vengence in PvP zones.

    When this power is 'fixed' though, does it mean that nemesis will also get their vengence 'fixed' to the same point? I think more people have complained longer about nemesis exploiting vengence to make their encounters impossible than people complaining about using it in PvP.

    Just my 2 cents... which is Australian so it doesnt even get to be 1 cent in these forums...
  5. Also another thing, are the lev50 vines suppost to be yellow? Also the lev50 minions dropping from the transport are also yellow... but I'm 50, arent they suppost to be white?
  6. We managed to take down ghost widow. The way we did it ended up being no PA's and no Transfusion, tank in close and everyone else back. That way her AoE heal didnt heal her as fast as the other powers, and transfusion + PA's... well I might have been alittle paranoid by this point but when she was down I was relieved.

    So from how we took down the AV's, the order was:
    Scoriccio - Has a nova at 1/2 health but no stupid tier9 power to make him waste an hour of our time
    Black scorpion - hes 90% invuln, no tier9 power so he didnt waste an hour of our time either
    Cpt Maco - Tier9 silly power. Some guy died and another respec'd in vengence with 3 tohit's so we could get past all the deflection's that we were getting. We finally killed him after an hour of trying - no rad in the team
    GW - took 30 mins after we started pulling back and kept out of her healing range.

    The LR encounter is hard. He loves to drop a lev54 boss every 10 seconds. So when you have team mates dying, rezing and coming back into the fight via Recall friend, its quite easy to get 10 or 20 of these things up. And they get buffed from the towers. And then 1 shotting everything including the invuln tank that was with us.

    Recluse then goes ahead and drops people to repair the structures making it even that much harder again - he spawned about 3 techs in a row to repair it on us, one time he spawned about 6... and then he 1 shots me for 3000 damage. Great.

    Another thing I noticed was drawing agro from the flier, I hid behind the chest of the LR statue, and within 30 seconds he then shot a barage of missiles that went through the statue and did a bunch of DoT damage that killed me. Shouldnt the flier move around the statue? Or is the statue not there?

    And finally, I keep seeing, after LR is introduced, what looks like every mob and flier getting a Fulcrum Shift every 10 seconds...

    We eventually gave up when it was apparent that the only way to defeat this was with archtypes and power sets that werent in our team.
  7. I have long posted this, and I'll post it again. I am against this extended nerf called Enhanced Diversification of enhancements. Noone in the player community asked for it. It was a side effect of jack 'statesman' wanting to remove the super human powers from heroes playing this computer game. I and many players who have played the game since beta have all agreed that the effort put into this nerf is futile and a waste of time. If a person wants to put 6 damage enhancements into a power and rely on the tohit buff given to them from tactics or focus accuracy, then it is upto their imagination on how to effectively create a hero or villain that can effectively use those powers and create a toon that is effective and powerful in their own right.

    But for some reason ED has stuck around. Even though thousands of players have quit the game due to ED and other nerfs, the propieters of cryptic keep touting it as an effective way of managing enhancements of their players toons.

    I disagree. Thousands of players who no longer play the game, who have voted with their financial might and have moved their money to other games that dont have stringent and ill thoughtout views on how their game should be played.

    I'm sorry. But that is the way it is. And because paid people working for cryptic and plaync dont agree with me and everyone else doesnt strip the fact that this is the state of affiars.

    It is offensive that they would put this thread and highlight a series of threads about this nerf to new players and make them think that this is the way the computer game started and this is th way it is being played since time immortal.

    Saying this, I expect this thread to be censored and deleted.

    In advance, thanks for reading the point of view of a long time player and fan of the game.

    Yes, but you have to remember that there are limits on the amount of Items of Power you will receive. With a small base you can only have 1 Item of power. With larger secure base you can have a maximum of 5 of each kind of item.
  9. I made a villian last night, chose a primary colour of green and then a primary colour of purple and bam! No more character. Jsut a head. Others on the map could see the default generic costume I had but I couldnt see anything but everyone else could There goes my idea of a perfect stalker without cheating

  11. I really agree with what you said here.

    From playing with defiance all I can see is that when I am within 1 shot of being killed I do more damage and therefore I do what again? Oh, thats right, die.

    Definance needs to be 1/2 way when the health bar is in the yellow and needs to provide some kind of accuracy boost and protection from toggle dropping and mez.

    The down side to this is that the dev's will assume that blasters will become the uba set but that is far from the case: my blaster is about to have 0 defence and a fancy brown bar when jumping into a room full of white con's that makes me hurt them more if I dont get single shotted or mez'ed and shot 2 times.

    From playing a claw scrapper and then watching a spines scrapper I have come to the conclusion that they are better blasters than blasters. My eng/eng blaster set has a couple ranged attacks and a couple melee attacks - exactly the same as my claw scrapper! But, my claw scrapper has actual defence and resistances and has this double-whammy thing called a critical that cuts white con's in half!

    The end result is that I can blast better as a scrapper and level up faster and have more fun as a scrapper than a blaster. Debt be gone!!

    This defiance power is nice in theory but it is sorely lacking. The dev's still dont understand what makes a toon fun, and by increasing damage output but ignoring things such as accuracy, mez and number of people affected by AoE's, then what kind of 'fix' is this going to be?
