I hate to harp, Posi, but a lot of time we see devs putting forward high concepts that fail to meet the description once they go live. It's especially unnerving when we can find posts saying that yes, there is a problem, but that a year later nobody's even acknowledging it anymore, as is the case with phase shift's too-long animation time.

WRT data mining, if this is in pvp zones, are you looking at how many people are active? Or how many people contribute to the death of a character? What I see is that usually, whoever has numbers wins. That's not really unexpected, and one might say that is as it should be. After all, if you consistently saw larger groups lose, it would imply imbalance, no? Otherwise, skill will sway it, but it shouldn't be constrained.
Certain ATs, however, can just solo kill. Blasters (/em and /el blappers especially) and stalkers are deadly. 2-3 hits from the blapper, 2 from the stalker, and it's death. And among them, the Stalker has a huge advantage against anyone he can see that cannot see him.
Stalkers are pretty simply. If they can see you and you can't see them, they are deadly. What I don't like is that they make a lot of the fighting dynamic impossible. A drawn out fight between a brute and a scrapper is more likely to end with an assassination strike taking the last 50% of the scrappers hp than anything else. Siren's is set up as a battle for the zone, but if you try to fight the villains, you end up assassinated while rooted in an attack against Arachnos guys. (And, if you happened to be at full health, you probably end up dying and getting debt, at least before these new patches coming)
On the other hand, those who can SEE stalkers can make life very rough for them. I have a fire/dev blaster I play in Siren's. He can kill anyone given time and luck, thanks to trip mine and tp foe - but he's deadly to stalkers. Caltrops, web grenade, and targeting drone+tactics means he can see most of them, lock down most of them, and fire does pretty decent damage. But I'm by FAR the exception rather than the rule. Most people don't have even sufficient perception to spot a stalker with stealth on. Even my fire/dev needs a clear mind or something to spot a stalker who has hide+invis (or the goggles, but I haven't seen heroes have control of Siren's for like a month).
You let my ice/en have 2 seconds with a stalker, they're dead. But I don't ususally get the chance because my ice/en has no +perc power. When I have a pocket emp, I'm stupidly strong.

We -are- trying to get the major issues fixed, but eventually the new issue has to come out, and that gobbles up the Training Room server, and we have to button down new fixes until that Issue goes to Live.

I was expecting to see the choice of your SHO rather then a stinking SO drop. I can get these SO drops from anywhere, via mission arc, Sirens Call and the numerous counts of other AVs/Heroes I fight in this game.
Allow us to chose which SHO we get, then that is some great news! As it is now, the SHO drops suck, I have a VG mate that has ran this SF damn near 20 times and each time he got a Damage/Range. Give the choice to us or change the percentages for these crap enhancements we all get.

For the love of god!! Please listen to this man! I dont know how many of the Hami raids I've been to over the last couple of years and all I ever get is Dam/Rng and Dam/Mez...this is just stupid. Change the drop rates or something. I'm not one to complain really, but Hami raiding is nothing but a turn off for me at this point.

It's really sort of irrelevent. Hami raids are tough to organize now, with hami as tough as he is. At least on Virtue, where raids used to be daily and are now once a week and not always successful. And most of the heroes have long since loaded up; I think I have 150 HOs among my heroes, and I wasn't even among the most active raiders on Virtue. Still don't have a SHOE tho.

0zymandus used "instead", Positrons reply kind of makes it look like Hamidon will be going away in his current form. This is obviously speculation based on grammar on my part. I would be very interested in hearing how the hero side "LRSF" (Statesman SF?) and Hamidon will interact. To me, raiding Hamidon is as much a community event/gathering of a lot players, something CoX generally doesnt have much of, as it is a way to get better enhancers. I'd be pretty disapointed if the "event" went away.
lucas isnt sure if this has been asked but is the Cat of Pain (IoP) trial gonna be before I8?

Actually this proves what most PVPers have been saying all along. Stalkers are sometimes overpowered and sometimes gimp, and almost never anywhere in between. Thanks to the AT design (classic '1 trick pony'), they are gods against the unprepared and pussycats against anyone with certain tools, specifically Clear Minds.
Maintaining the PVP status quo just because there's no unanimous opinion is not good for the game. In the U.S. every 4 years we have major disagreements about who should be president... that doesn't mean we elect nobody. Look for majority opinions from experienced players for guidance. Read the PVP forums and you'll see plenty of well thought out arguments with experience and data to back them up.

Clear Mind makes a HUGE difference. 1 minute stalkers are "ganking" everything in sight but as soon as an /Emp steps into the zone and starts CM'ing, things change dramatically. NERF CM!!! seriously. Atleast do to it what you did to ID so it can only be stacked by multiple casters

Sadly, in the last 2 years the devs have expended a huge amount of time and resources into PvP. What has this has given to the actual players (as opposed to the players they hope to get, imagined 'ideal player' or the devs themselves)? Nerfs, delayed fixes of bugs, and more bugs. The continued use of dev time and resources on PvP has done nothing to increase the player base and in fact has been detrimental to the customer satisfaction of many of the current player base. Most players of CoX were not drawn to the game for its PvP and few , if any, will be in the future. It is time to focus developer time and resources toward aspects of the game that the current players actually enjoy and want. We certainly don't need a 2nd build for PvP or PvP only characters that have their own leveling system.

o.o;; I though CoP/IoP trial was going to be activated before i8? or is that going to be with or after? I don't mind a bit more time to afford the vault, my sg is making less prestige now than before the +25% increase, so the extra time doesn't hurt..

Ummm, No it hasn't been fixed and Yes I have completed the arcs. All of them from the Patrons my characters have and still 3 out of 4 haven't gotten a Patron respec and support closes the tickets becasue, "A fix is forthcomming."

That's Zone-PvP ... that's normal. What about Arena?? Every high level Arena match I've been to is almost exclusively Hero AT's with a light smattering of Corruptors b/c Villains have no Alphastrike potential at that level, inferior buffs, and the PPP's-VS-APP's only made things worse. "Dataming PvP" doesn't work If you're not reading the PvP boards too so you know what ALL to Datamine in the first place...

Again, awesome. I have no dominators but they are, in fact, actively discouraged from LRSF teams.
I would like to add that stalkers are, as well, and MMs to a lesser extent. Even non-/stone brutes tend to take a back seat to corruptors. I think tactics are emerging that encourage the use of nuke temp powers from Warburg, and those are at least a leveling factor, but for a raw no-temp-power team you pretty much need two /stone brutes and six corruptors.
Don't get me wrong, I applaud the LRSF. It's by far the hardest thing in the game, and I enjoy running it. But I'd like to see it become equally hard for all teams rather than gravy for the right team builds and literally impossible for many others.
This is turning into an LRSF post when it didn't mean to be, but I'll finish by saying that I'd recommend populating the last map with side missions where you can get AT-specific temp powers to exploit hero-specific weaknesses. That would rock.

Stalkers pretty much act like most fantasy MMO Rogues, one trick ponies. If they get the hit, their opponent is pretty much splatter on their weapons, they miss, then they're screwed beyond all at that point. Read many other MMOs that contain Rogues, they tend to have the same "Overpowered/Underpowered" argument cause the luck with them depends on playstyle and opponent.
I've played Rogues, and I've played Stalkers, and experiencing both I know how to play them (granted I may not enjoy it as much as other ATs), and the players of them just gotta get into the groove that they have tremendous burst DMG on the get-go and levels off.

Speaking of PvP, I hope they are datamining deeper that just "which side is winning", becuase that is more an effect of numbers that AT and Power Set Balance. I would hate to think that the devs are thinking that Dominators are fine in PvP just because villains happen to win the zones 1/2 the time.
Dominators don't need mitigation from their secondaries. Even if they did, there's ice (slows), psi (-recharge), and fire and elec (death).
