You're entitled to your opinion, but seems most people like it so far. As such, it wasn't a waste in the grand scheme of things.

* "Looping Sound Crash" - We think we MAY have this finally fixed.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seriously? It's been like, what? Over a year now? That must be one post-apopalyptic strength bug to squash. I thought it was never going to get fixed.

.....

I'd shout "hooray" or something, but I don't want to jinx it.

* Choice table for Lord Recluse's Strike Force. - Upon completion of the mission, you will get a choice table, instead of the Enhancements simply being put into your tray (and if your tray is full, put into oblivion). You will NOT be able to pick the specific Synthetic Hami-O, but you will be able to choose a +3 level SO instead of the random SHOE if you want.

[/ QUOTE ]

What a worthless fix. Way to spend a time and effort coming up with a [censored] solution.

[/ QUOTE ]

because at the very least, now you won't lose your shoes.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because losing another damage/range which I have no use for whatsoever (up to 5 now, thanks) would be a real loss.

I hope this is only being put off until you can implement picking the specific HO for heroes as well. It really sucks to go through all of what it takes to get these things and get something you can't use and nobody else wants (like a Lysosome).

Nice list, all things that have effected me at some point. Very happy to get an official response about the RSF drops in the last mission, thank you!

Bad posters! Stop looking that gift horse in the mouth!

[/ QUOTE ]

What gift horse?!?!

He promised to fix some bugs! 'Hey, we're working on making your experience in CoX less buggy' is not a gift, it's part of your $15 a month!

And for all the people whooping about getting to pick your SHOE, he specifically said you DON'T get to pick your SHOE. You just get a window now telling the game *when* to drop the RANDOM SHOE it's going to give you anyway.

No, not at all. A gift horse would be FIXING the god damn final mission of the RSF to allow dominators and stalkers to actually HELP the team instead of burdening their friends.

Dammit, Devs, "Let them eat cake" is NOT an acceptable response!

Who is going to pick a +3 SO over a SHO?

Thanks for the change tho.

Err, no one said they thought he did say you'd be able to pick the specific SHOE. They're exciting because now you won't LOSE it if you don't notice your tray is full.

Also, updates aren't really "part of your $15 a month". All your $15 a month buys you is access to the game in whatever condition it may be in. Nowhere is it stated or even implied that it buys you anything further. Yes, fixing the bugs is sensible business practice, but your statement is pretty much the equivalent of shouting at a judge "I PAY YOUR SALARY!".

Probably no one, but it does mean no more SHO's disappearing into the void...

If it's a rare +3 SO like an End Mod, or a Flight Speed, or something that practically never drops, I would.

If it's your standard Recharge/Acc/Dam/EndRedux, then anyone that does is very, very . . . what's the word I'm looking for . . . . right. DUMB.

And Taser is right. This is a nice fix, but it still does not address ANY of the issues present with the final mission. If the mission were INSANELY DIFFICULT for everyone, it'd be one thing. But hte fact remains: the mission is EASY with /Rads, and the mission is akin to using your head as a sledgehammer against the Berlin Wall if you're on a team without /Rads.

That is NOT good game design, and what depresses me most is that I know the Devs can do better. I know they HAVE done better. I've stuck around playing this long for that very reason.

There are ALOT of valid points made in the LRSF thread over in CoV discussion that need to be addressed. If nothing else, just read and reply to Arcanaville's posts. When Arcanaville posts passionately about something, the whole community should stop and listen, even if after reading it, you disagree.

Insert joke here about "the other SHOE dropping"

So if you picked up a game, brought it home, and found out you could never play with the sound on because of a horrible very obvious bug....you wouldn't want to return it?

Ya, I'd prolly say the same to the people who couldn't figure out how to delete or slot a few SOs during the final mission.

Well, if they only gave you one option, the issue wouldn't even have the chance of coming up at all.

I'm starting to get bitter about SHOEs and HOs. HOs = Hami buffed many times, heroes nerfed many times, and consequently, we need 110 people to hold him and not suffer a mito-spawn wipeout. That's too damn many people to have to get together for a raid.

SHOEs - too hard to form a team to do this. The specificity of character types required means even a casual player WITH a "good" build (read: corruptor or stone brute) can't get a team with any ease. And I thought forming a TF was hard - sheesh.

Both the HOs and SHOEs leads to a haves/have-nots feel to the whole thing, and it's a turnoff.

[/ QUOTE ]

While it wasn't listed with the change, it is possible this fixes the bug that I've seen some post (don't have a level 45 villain, let alone a level 50 so can't try it myself) where if the LRSF is completed a second time before the reward timer is up, it resets the timer on being able to get a SHO despite not getting one on the second run through. It could encourage people to do it more often to help their friends get a SHO or to try various tactics without having to worry about the timer being reset if successful. The SO would be less important than the fact that you could do the SF multiple times a day (for whatever reason) without being penalized on getting SHOs when you are eligible again.

If the reward timer does reset even if you pick a SO then I could see it being of little value other than ensuring you can have a slot available for your SHO.

Actually, Cryptic/NCSoft have always advertised content updates as part of the $15 a month. It also used to include a paper comic. The people who pay the $15/mo do so on the assumption that the devs work hard to produce content updates. If they said, "Hey, we're not going to do any more updates, price is the same", you'd see much higher attrition.

Also, Judges are not a consumer choice. The government comes up with tax rates via elected representatives, who take money from the population involuntarily, and the government decides how to spend it - like on judges. That's entirely different from CoH, which is a person choosing directly to spend their money on the game. Saying, "We pay your salary" is still not quite the case, but if we drop all the drama, it's reasonable for paying customers to express that they want a certain thing, and not getting it might impact their willingness to pay the monthly fee. Very few services offer so public a forum for people to vent on the perceived shortcomings of the service, of course.

I can say one reason I have paid for annual subscriptions to CoH on 2 accounts since Beta is the content updates, and without them, I certainly would have cancelled. In fact, there was a time when I wasn't really into the game and without the paper comic showing up and making me want to play, I'd have likely cancelled.

Of course, but the game is working in this case. Balance issues are not the same as "not working".

Well, what I meant to say was bugfixes, not updates. Sorry. As for the consumer choice part, that's a whole other issue. My point was the "I pay your salary" argument being used to try to "bully" a person into doing things your way never goes over well.

I would, too. However, I doubt it will happen because it would not be balanced with the Heroes who have no such source of 53 SOs.

But if they put the selection box on the Shard SFs, too....

anyways, I like this fix. Very cool. Thanks. Can we get this on all Strikeforces? I keep missing SOs in the Sharkhead one.

Yay, please have the invis mob bug shot in the face and wiped off the face of CoX. I detest it, it plagues me constantly and I have to keep rezoning twice to see mobs. Annoying solo, doubly so in a team. "Sorry guys, wait for me again, I can't see [censored]. Brb."

And yes, the RSF still requires help. But the bugfixes are good news.

Posi: TELEPORT BUG. C'mon, 1/4 of your travel options are nerfed for range enhancers since 5/7.

Trams. The other travel power nerf.

These are QoL issues that should and need to be addressed as well, particularly since it seems like you've had at least the TP bug "in the bag" for months now.

i still think that the Teleport bug is a game engine issue, not the power numbers and coding stuff that Posi works on. i imagine there will be a slight fanfare when Teleport gets fixed, but until then it's out of Positron's control and thus difficult for him to comment on. Remember the last time he belatedly posted that he thought it had already been fixed because he wasn't familiar enough with the issue to test for the very thing that caused many players to consider it broken. If we had a Dev that was fond of and regularly used Teleport it might be a different story, but here we are.

i still think it will be fixed when Issue 8 goes to the Test server. One issue to break it, the next to fix it. Just be grateful it didn't happen in Issue 6.

Fix the bloody trams already.

While I hate to sound so hostile, especially to someone whom I happen to actually respect, the tram bug is like a dripping faucet, or a screaming baby, or a yappy dog - the longer it's around the more positively rage-inducing it becomes.

Or maybe I'm just irritable. Meh.

I'd pick some +3 SOs if they are not base 10. I'd love a half dozen 53 lvl end mods.
