    It's not the only way, it's just by far the easiest.

    I had a run with 5 controllers, 2 blasters, and a stone tank, where the temp power wasn't used at all. I was on an elec/elec blaster (3 holds w/ APP), and the stone was SS (another hold from KO Blow), and I'm fairly certain that all the controllers had both their ST holds and AoE holds. Together, we kept him perma-held for the whole fight, and I never needed to activate the temp power.
  2. I haven't seen it mentioned before, but it would be nice if on the second mission (the one in PI) the cutscene code was hacked to load up to the AV spawn textures prior to running the scene. As is it causes slight lag for each AV as the textures get loaded for the first time.

    So I made another run tonight, 5 controllers, 2 blasters, and a stone tank. We failed for a multitude of reasons, but we did make one very interesting discovery in the last mission.

    After clearing the 4 AVs, we cleared around the recluse statue. We made a bunch of attempts that got aborted for one reason or another. Each time we would have to clear the Arachnos Transport again before going in.

    However, during one of these fights, one of the controllers (we think it was a pet) defeated something called "Arachnos Transport Transponder", which stuck out because it was worth 15 xp (debt), in the mass of spawned arachnos soldiers. After this, the transport stopped respawning!

    However, when I respawned the mission after everyone else logged, I couldn't find the transponder at all. I'm hoping that being able to destroy this transponder isn't a bug, but rather an actual strategy.

    I just wanted to echo this, it's not the elude, or the regen, it's the fact that elude comes up so fast that there is a pretty small window for really beating on him without resorting to using yellow insps (not really an easy thing to get in the middle of a TF)

    It's worth noting that we didn't have to reset after all the AVs went back to their starting positions, we were able to disengage and start over. This is a welcome change from the RSF.

    All in all I was way impressed that a PuG without a tank or a rad was able to get as far as we did. I'm 100% certain that if we hadn't lost the 2 members we did, we would have eventually succeeded.

    I believe that's true for all endurance drains.

    Maybe. I've only ever noticed such a significant difference on my fire tank and brute. My Ice tank and electric brute don't seem to draw noticably less end from higher con enemies, but I haven't done any rigorous testing.

    Long recharge (compared to similar powers in comparable sets), not auto-hit(like other PBAoE end drainers, due to the damage component IIRC), higher level enemies = less end drained. The last one is the most frustrating part for me.

    This is really sortof a difficult thing to balance out. On the one hand, many would like to have a chance to run into Signature Heroes solo. On the other hand, they seem to only spawn as EBs/AVs, and there are many who would like to avoid this level of difficulty (which is totally reasonable).

    Perhaps mayhem missions could be offered with a choice? Instead of "Go rob a bank in Founders Falls" being my only option, (as an example), two options could appear. The first would be "Go rob a bank in Founders Falls." and the second could be "Rob the Brickstown Bank to attract the attention of the Freedom Phalanx".

    This way, not only would we have a choice of what zone we get sent to, but also whether we want to face signature hero.

    Signature heroes could still show up for groups of 4+, but at least this way you wouldn't need 3 other people to get one.

    Slot for interrupt reduction, and practice a bit. You will learn to use it between getting attacked without trouble.

    The cone sizes for the melee powers is part of the Recharge/Damage/Endurance calculation. Increasing Cone sizes means reducing Damage & increasing End costs or increasing Recharge time to compensate.

    Just because you can't easily hit 5 mobs with it doesn't mean others can't. No, I'm not talking about me, I usually average 2-3.

    Hitting many mobs with your melee cones just takes practice and a little elementary trigonometry.

    No, it isn't. A mishandling of the situation would be if the dev's had somehow enticed people into getting every badge. Or perhaps if they awarded a badge for acheiving every badge. Or maybe if isolator was the key to some sweet acolade.

    However, since they never did anything to enforce the isolator lust, they never mishandled anything. Seriously.

    Correct.

    Thus, some badges are easter eggs, and some are not. Isolator was intended to be one. Your just grasping at straws at this point in order to be angry at the devs for doing something totally legitimate.

    They gave you a way to get it, berating them for it being hard (after them issuing a warning that if it was added, it would be ridiculously hard), and then continuing to deride the solution smacks of immaturity.

    If it wasn't so funny, it would be sad.

    Is there some way civ-only knockback or something can be added to at least clear them out of a big fight?

    Also, when AoE target counting is considered, does a hit on a civvy count towards your AoE limit?

    I would think that killing innocents would force them to up the rating on the game, which would require repackaging, which could be quite costly.

    It would be nice though if knockback were added to more powers when used against civilians. At least that way it would be a little more satisfying.

    Open up the powers tab on your power bar in the lower right, and right click on the power, and you should find an option to delete any temporary power you dont want. At least, this was the case with the powers I received.
  23. I haven't read the rest of the thread, just leaving my feedback.

    First a few suggestions:
    -civilians shouldn't be targetable by non player-characters
    -it would be nice to have some kind of list of side missions. I found there was usually a non-PPD spawn that would hold the key to the police station. But if I wasn't watching the map for new locations to pop up, or if I missed the dialogue, I wouldn't know that I had unlocked the police station.
    -Add a record of time gained to the system log, it should show up in the same manner as experience/influence/prestige earned.

    As for general feedback, I just have to say I really, really loved testing these missions. I did about 5 altogether. 1 with my lowbie elec/elec brute, and 4 with my level 40 brute. I went around to nerva/grandville/st martial trying to rob banks in different parts of paragon, but I only managed to get to founders falls and brickstown at high levels.

    I would like to see more stuff added to get blown up. No parking spot should be without a car. Also, it would be really great if the items inside the side missions were destructable as well. It really upset me to walk into a warehouse and find that all of a sudden I could no longer blow everything up.

    But, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!

    This is why I think all parking spots should have cars in them.

    8 heroes vs the Fiery Fist. Probably at least 10 seconds to take him down. That may be a generous estimate in my favor.

    Fiery Fist vs Contaminated minion. 1 second to get off energy transfer.

    I'd put my odds at about 50% of stealing that kill.
