Most likely Traps, but I've been looking for a Blaster project lately, so possibly Devices. We'll see.

Level 41 and climbing, and my Traps/Archery is still the only character I'm interested in playing (at the moment). I started on useful procs in the teens and set IO's in the 30's, and by now he's capped to Ranged and nearly capped to AoE.
I've also got a set of Unbreakable Constraint waiting to drop in at 50, but I'm trying to decide what direction I want to go with the rest of the build before I start bidding on more purple sets.
Needless to say, this has become one of my favorite characters, and I'm sure to keep playing him well after he hits 50.

In general:
Tankers are mostly concerned with keeping the team alive.
Scrappers (and Brutes) are mostly concerned with making the enemy dead.
-DR -
Lately, I've been playing a Traps/Archery Defender (level 38 and climbing) who just loves to be the first one into a spawn.
This occasionally leads to some interesting situations, such as the other day when, during a mission against +4 Freakshow, I raced off in one direction while the other 7 members of the team went elsewhere (I thought they were right behind me - really).
After a few minutes, a full tray of inspirations, some tricky LoS / AI manipulation, and too many close calls to count, I had basically managed to solo the entire room. By the time the rest of the team caught up, the only things left standing were three half-dead, severely debuffed Freak Tanks.

Quote:Traps is only a poor team set if you want to play it with poor set-and-pull tactics.Quote:If traps isn't working well for you in a team it is because of you, not because of traps. Now I'm not saying it is the best teaming set, not by a long shot, but it can keep up in teams if YOU can keep up in teams.

I only have one fully purpled / 5x LotG'd / Miracle + Numina uniqued / HO'd character, and that's my Fortunata. I thought she was worth it.

Less than 24 hours to go! Tell your friends!

We've sweetened the pot yet again. Considering the nature of this event, I thought adding a few Celerity +stealth IO's would be appropriate.
1st Place
150,000,000 Influence
1x Apocalypse: damage IO (level 50)
1x Celerity +stealth IO (level 50)
2nd Place
100,000,000 Influence
1x Celerity +stealth IO (level 50)
3rd Place
50,000,000 Influence
1x Celerity +stealth IO (level 50)
4th Place
50,000,000 Influence
5th Place
50,000,000 Influence -
Oh sure, we can afford to toss it in. None of the 2+ billion in IO donations are spoken for at this point, so I figured we could just toss them in as bonus prizes for the various events as applicable. Anything that's left over at the end will probably go into the participation raffle pool anyway.
-DR -
Quote:Sailor, you're still holding that Apocalypse: Damage IO, right? Let's add it to the pot for 1st place, just to shake things up a bit.Rewards: Bragging rights, plus weighted cash prizes (first place = 150 million inf, second place = 100 million inf, third - fifth place = 50 million inf) and/or desirable items to the first 5 Ninjas to reach the finish line with all the required badges.
-DR -
Of course Alty's still involved. She's the wizard behind the anniversary flyer, among other things, and will be handling POC duties for several events.

In other words, there are lots of cheaper (not to mention faster) farm builds. I hear you can get the recharge on Footstomp down to ~8 seconds without too much trouble.
[/ QUOTE ]
Try 4.5 seconds.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know you can get it lower than 8 seconds (I have 3 high level SS/ Brutes). My point was that you can easily get it down to 8 seconds, where as a Fort takes a larger investment for a lesser return.

anyway.. how quick if maxed global recharge.. perma hasten.. etc.. could i get the mini nuke off?
[/ QUOTE ]
My Psy Wail recharges in 97.6 seconds. Achieving that much global recharge is ridiculously expensive though (4x purple sets, 5x LotG's, 2x sets of Decimation, 3x sets of Posi Blast, etc.).

I updated villain side today.

And again. I'll try to get the hero numbers done later.

Could someone please put this in the guide section?

That's not a bad idea. Who would we PM about that?

Well written, and well done.
EDIT: Also shatters yet another myth that general whinners come up with.
Let's see we've done:
"A 50 can't make 1mil inf per hour"
"It's impossible to make a Billion inf in 30 days"
"It's ebil marketing that's screwing the market"
Any others left to debunk?
[/ QUOTE ]
You have to pay the flippers' prices to get stuff.
[/ QUOTE ]
Will have to work on that one next . . . actually the debunking of that happens everyday.
Just have to figure out a way to show it.
[/ QUOTE ]
The fact that flippers exist disproves the myth. If everyone had to pay the flippers' prices to get stuff (including, presumably, the flippers), then there wouldn't be any profit in flipping.
-DR -
Fascinating stuff. I particularly liked the Merit section.

I updated villain side today.

And again. The market seems to be stabilizing at around 500k / merit, with the 10-14 pool C and 25-29 pool D rolls practically tied for first place at 497k each. The "sure thing," the level 25 LotG, is 450k / merit.
Interesting math: 500k - 10% (market fee) = 450k
Have we found the equilibrium price?
-DR -
I didn't do the hero numbers, but that ToD triple looks like a typo to me. It was listed at 4 mil on 24Dec, so yeah, it probably didn't go from that to vendor trash in 3 weeks.

I updated villain side today. I didn't do hero side. I'm not sure when we'll get around to doing hero side.
I did the update close to 2x xp weekend on purpose. I wanted to see how much it had gone up (quite a bit), and find out how long it takes to go back down. I'll try to check it again in mid February and see where things stand.

I updated Villain side again today. Aside from a few stragglers, prices are down a bit since 2x xp. They're still higher than they were before 2x xp of course, but not by a whole lot (note: I'm only talking about Pool C's and D's here - purples are still riding pretty high, but they're outside the scope of this analysis).
More interesting than that is that, for the moment at least, the prices of the various options seem to be converging. Of the 16 options I track, 10 of them fall into the 400-500k per merit range. The best options from each category are even closer: the level 25 LotG at 450k, the level 25-29 pool D random at 473k, and the level 10-14 pool C random at 500k.
Most interesting of all, to me anyway, is that the 10-14 pool C random roll is the most profitable option at 500k per merit. I wouldn't have predicted that, but it looks like there's a mild shortage of a few "capped at 30" sets (especially the new sets) that is driving the average up.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next week.

Question: Wouldn't 33 or 32 be better for the purpose of exemplaring? Or is that more intended for people swapping into IOs straight at level 27? I have a pair of Plant/Rad and Fire/MM that I'm going park at level 32 and run posi duos every now and then. Trying to decide whether I should leave one of them at 30 instead.
[/ QUOTE ]
When designing a build for ex'ing, I'll use anything between 28-33. I prefer level 33's, but I'll take what I can get.

[ QUOTE ]
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but is rolling always best at 50 (PPM) or is there an earlier level (30 or 40) where the PPM might be higher on random rolls. Just curious, i have a 30 corr with 110 merits and I am planning to wait until 50 at the moment.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have no idea, because doing the analysis for levels 10-49 is just too much work. Most of us farm merits with our 50's, so that's what I looked at.

Hero side, unbound leap stealth proc and celerity stealth proc... the price difference is funny, ... for something i can BOTH slot in sprint for same result.

Makes about as much sense as a level 30 -KB recipe being worth more than a level 10, doesn't it?
-DR -
Well then, if it's that simple...
Mind tossing a SD section in next time you do an update?
