MOG SUX!

It sux so much it makes me puke to use it. I avoid it like the plague, and when I do use it, I am a "moment from a faceplant"

MoG would be PERFECT for Blasters! Think of the Defiance bonus they would have!

FoN (Force of Nature) is more like a Regen Power!

Devs! Please Please Please SWAP THEM!

You would make Blasters happy and you would make Regens happy.

What is wrong with happy players?

What's funny and sad is that this sounds like a perfect solution...

It is a perfect solution!

It is a true WIN/WIN for both Blasters and Regens. Both would walk away from the conference table as happy players.

My Blaster would pick up Defense, Resistance, and a real opportunity to use Defiance in a powerful way.

My Regen would pick up Regen Green, Resistance to Toxic, and besides...

FoN makes you look "pretty"!

I feel for ya that MoG is a poor power when compared to what other tier 9's are out there. Sadly I really hope the dev's look at other issues before this one. The RSF, Doms in general, fury in PvP, domination in PvP, EPP's vs PPP's, Blaster Inherents are all issues that effect more people and are more "broken" than MoG.

The -regn set is already considered by many to be the best set out of all the stalker/scrapper sets. With that in mind, I think it would be fair for the dev's to give you a better "MoG" but at the cost of somthing else..... say knockback protection.

WHY? I ask! Regen was picked on in every issue up to the last one. Why must anything more be taken from us?

Forget what others say!

Play one, from level 1 to 50 and then return here and make that suggestion... you won't.

Regen is fine, by today's standard, but, if I could , I would rework the whole set to again include IH as it would fit into today's game. Older regen's miss the power, younger regen's do not know what they are missing. Either way, I would rework the whole set and toss MoG out on it's ear.

MoG would be substantially more useful if it had a shorter duration (and a correspondingly reduced recharge).

I know, it may sound wacky, but the scenarious where MoG would be the most useful thing are actually plentiful. However, those scenarios rarely cover a 3 minute chunk of time.

However, those scenarious rarely use a significant portion of MoG's 3 minute duration. So, you're forced to make a choice where you could us MoG for 30 seconds, but then turn off the rest of your powers for a further 150 seconds.

If MoG only lasted 45 seconds (and had a recharge of about 360), you would see it being used noticably more frequently.

No, the solution to MoG is simple

Swap it with Force of Nature.

Blasters will love MoG. Blasters are largely ranged, though Blappers exist and MoG, IMO, would work better in that role. Blasters would benefit from the low health condition with their defiance. With that much defiance going, they would be kill-bots. Next the increased endurnace is a real plus. They would be winners all around, with Defense, Resistance, and Defiance.

NOW - we trade!

That is right, we get FoN, Force of Nature. Regens stay in the "green". we can heal, we get resistance, and we can slot for extra endurance gain.

So, it is a Win/Win situation. Blasters get to do more, Regens get to do more... we are happy.

The MoG threads, they call to me. Come Gangrel and post your wierdness.

I saw 2 good ideas: Swap FoN and Mog or cut the duration down to something lower, where I wont feel trapped by the power.

heres mine Toggle MoG with a 240 sec recharge or 480 sec if you like.

Neither. Use inspirations and save a respec in case Castle ever gets Geko on board with changing MoG.

not to mention that a toon thats whole idea is to regin health has as a teir 9 a power that goes against all the ideas of the rest of the set. I think of it as facing an enemy cutting off my right leg and left arm to make the remaining right arm 200% stronger and then fight. Hoping that A. I dont forget and try to kick the enemy in the nads thus dropping me onto my @#$% and that the baddie is too stupid to just leg sweep me to death and shame again thats what using mog is like for me.

Heh, thanks but that's not a very good answer. I want to know what I should select now, not in some future year in 2008 when they finally look at Mog.

Guess I'll take Phase shift.

Neither is the best answer. Phase Shift takes to long to activate to use as a panic button. Inspirations are better for getting you out of trouble.

Well, I don't completely agree with that. Back in my early days I have phase shift on my stalker, and it was pretty reliable for me as a "oh crap" power. The key was to activating it on time, which I'm pretty good at. I see "oh crap" as I just ran outta inspirations, and i'm a [censored] load of trouble with no healer nearby or person to port me out.

I was asking about Mog, because I have no experience using it and was trying to compare it to phase shift. Guess I should have made that clear. I do have experience with phase shift, and have never died while using it as an "oh crap" power. Obviously waiting to you have a slither of health to activate it is ludicris (spelling?) as is using it over those 3 green inspirations in your tray.

I meant to use it as a possible escape when you run out of them, and you want to buy yourself a few secs more to get away when you team has overaggroed. Which phase shift used to do quite nicely for me before I respeced out of it back when I was lvl 22. FYI, my stalker is about to hit 41.

MoG is a fantastic power, even the way it is now. Despite limitations as described above, if you have any trouble with PvE as a regen then the problem is with you and your tactics, not the powerset.

Prove it. Give me any situation, you would use MoG in and I'll show you a way to do it safer. Because in fact, if you're using MoG to save yourself it's probably your tactics that are deficient.

[/ QUOTE ]

"prove it" has been one of your most common comebacks to people who like MoG, and I know that you've been looking for instruction in how to use MoG but you've either not listened or not learned.

Still, I'm not going to teach you yet again because I believe you don't want to hear from mog sympathizers.

Also, the list you had of villain groups that will affect MoG also affect other AT's that don't have MoG available to them. No one really gets psi protection. And lol NO ONE can resist Hami damage so seeing it on your list makes me believe you are really reaching for negative things about MoG. And all because you haven't learned how to deal with it to your advantage. It will always be sour grapes to you.

But, I will give you credit for finally omitting the false claim that MoG goes against the regen set.

[/ QUOTE ]

With the rest of the regen set greyed out for 150 seconds, I'd still never use it.

Make it anywhere from 30-60 seconds (45 sounds good), let us heal after the power wears off, without the 10 extra seconds of -regen, make sure the 10 second warning worked properly, then give it a 300 second recharge.

At that point the negatives would no longer outweigh the positives 9 out of 10 times. It would still be bad to use when facing PSY or DoT damage, but would be usefull all those other times, as the oh-bleep of oh-bleep I'm out of oh-bleep powers, better to risk MoG than face the alternative.

But I'm really torn on duration, so I really think I personally would make it a toggle with a 300 second recharge, then reduce the defense to "almost floored" but not "floored" so that it doesn't get abused. *shrug* there's no perfect solution given the way it works now.

So that leads me back to bleep it, just rework the whole bleeping power. What would I do, I dont' know. I just know I don't like it as it is, as IMO in 6 out 10 situations it's more of a liability than not. A 9'th tier power should not more often prove a liability than an asset. Most other 9'th tier powers only prove a liability in 2 out of 10 situations. And in the case of other 9'th tier powers, they aren't actually a liability in those 2 out of 10 cases. Instead of a liability they simple fail to function. MoG however can't be said to simply fail to function, it not only fails to function but provides a significant negative liability as well. In at least half the situations where MoG is a liability, it not only fails to function, but it actually becomes an "instant death" power, "Mark of .. oh bleep I'm dead". A 9th tier power "not functioning" because you're facing your weakness is "normal" but a 9th tier power actually significantly helping the enemy to kill you, that's just not right. I really don't know what a good 9't teir regen solution would be, but MoG isn't it.
