Funny idea, I can actually see it being implemented, maybe it could be a zone event for AP and GC, as well as Mercy. A Talos one would be fun too, Skyway would just be insane.

have it spawn in every zone and have it show up on the map (similar to how your target shows up in siren's). that way people can all converge on it and just kick it around and it will make it pretty hard for someone to grief it by hiding it somewhere. oy can you imagine what would happen if it spawned in DA with no way to find it?
If this went in, I imagine I would never leave Talos again. Great idea!

I see this best implemented as a specific type of arena match. Superpowered soccer! A goal on each end of a large flat arena, with teams trying to KB/push the ball into the opposing team's goal. The ball should be affected my most powers, such as TP foe, inertial dampening, AOE debuffs, etc. To make it fair though, the ball might have to be immune to force bubble- otherwise you just park your FF defender as goalie and watch the opposing team cry. And the ball should have very low, or even negative KB resistance so that even powers without a KB component would send flying back in the direction of the hit. This is such a 5-star, huge fun idea! I don't know why it hasn't been suggested before!
Of course, the OP is right that just having a big red bouncy ball to play with in zones would be fun too, but I really se it taking off as an arena event. Perhaps it could even lure people back to the almost deserted arenas! I'd want one in Pocket D too- that way griefers would have fewer places they could "hide" the ball to deny others fun.

I think it would be fun with Force Bubble! It wouldn't be impossible though, cause you'd be at your "playing field" and see the other team, and be all like "Oh noes, they have <insert FF defender here>!" but then you bring in a ringer! the 2005 MVK! (Most valuable kineticist) so he uses Increase Density on the ball when it gets repelled and Speed Boost if it gets stuck in some icky tar and it's a gigantic war of giggling bouncy fun! It should be based on damage, how far it gets knocked back I think or really a combination of damage and status effects. Melee would do more than ranged and I think the To-Hit should be between 25%-50%, them balls are sneaky.

How about a zone event somewhere currently underused (boomtown?) that awards one "big red ball" as described above except:
- temporary one shot 'pet' power
- lasts 10 minutes
- if owner zones it vanishes
- if owner gets more than 300' from it, it goes to owner's location
- otherwise it responds as described above, bouncing around, getting kb'd by everything
Probably the event would involve special spawns of low level Lost vs Freakshow kickball games that you defeat the last guy and get to take the ball

Unbelievably, I think this is a great idea. However, I dont' think it should be restricted to one zone. Have it spawn in different zones at random. Or, one per zone, (but that may be too much.) And, when it spawns, a goal spawns somewhere in the zone at random as well. Any player/team/sg who hits the ball into the goal gets an influence/prestige reward.

A bunch of heroes are playing with thier nice shiny new ball in Siren's Call, everything is lovely, the grass is green, not a villain in sight. Much fun for all. But then suddenly, out from the shadows, a small noise can be heard. But by the time the poor heroes realized it a build-up it was too late! ASSASSIN STRIKE! *POP.. ppssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh* No more ball
I still love this idea. Something fun to do while waiting for a group for sure.
PS: I don't hate stalkers, I just like to poke them with a stick sometimes.
Some people are saying to put the BRB in all zones, I think this would quickly lose the fun. Instead, I think the BRB should spawn in 3-5 zones (in CoH), and 1-2 zones (CoV) everyday and have the zones be random everyday.
I also think that all these ideas of being "it" and getting a temp power and whatnot aren't neccesarily bad, but they're overcomplicating things.
P.S. One more vote for the BRB
Just one more suggestion...this needs to be implemented secretly. No announcements on the board, not on the Test server, none of that. Just one day, a red ball appears next to, let's say, Back Alley Brawler, like the Monolith in 2001.
