is recluse's victory going to be like warburg?

so far what i know about it, it probably seems unlikely, it sounds a lot more like Siren's Call writ large.

the reason why i ask is that i primarily play with a Mastermind, and im sick of getting ganked by stalkers while in warburg, a FFA map is fun when you want it, but when you don't, there in lies the rub.

anyway, question asked, answer if you please/can.

sounds to me like bloody bay but more intense, the bases are HUGE and right next to each other with lots of missle launchers and such, and a big open battle field where both sides are dukeing it out, sounds fun to me.

To my understanding, it's more like Sirens, Villains vs Heroes for control over the zone.

I miss Team Fortress. Gonna have to find my old Half Like discs.

As long as it's heroes versus villains, I'll be happy. Some people may like the idea of free for all, but I find it creates an intensely unpleasant environment. Stealthed Ice Blasters are bad enough without also having to worry about Stalkers on top of that, and vice versa.

All this talk of controlling critical points on the map, using heavy artillery, and such... do you think people will actually use any of it? Or will they just splash around in the water having a big mindless brawl like in every other zone?

Arc #41077 - The Men of State

Depends upon what the advantages are and how the battles go. Personally, I love Siren's Neighborhood Battles with my Corr. Fearsome Stare, Tar Patch, Ice Storm, Twilight Grasp, my holds. The fun never ends. My Stalker on the other hand ... ARGH!!! I can't really jump in the middle of the battle and assassinate the Wardens/Officers without Longbow handing my a free ride back to my base Although Energy Drain is really cool to do. Arachnos guys run amok on the near defenseless Longbow stooges.

Image what the crash site looks like, then turn the zone into Atlas park. I'd imagine its alot larger than AP since that zone is very very small and in the future the warwalls don't exist.

I rarely make assumptions, but in this instance I will. Recluse's Victory has been said to be a future version of Atlas Park with a dynamic environment. If the heroes are winning the zone, it's a pristine Atlas. If the villains are winning, the zone is trashed. That tells me it's a hero vs. villain zone.

Adding to what Athyna said.

From the November PC Gamer:

Recluse's Victory is an alternate version of Atlas Park where villains and heroes battle it out. Depending on which side is winning, the zone will shift between depicting Atlas Park as heroically happy or ruined and burnt.

Don't you just love the idea of the environment changing as you're having an epic battle in the midst of it all?

Oh yes.

It makes me giggle so. *eyes twinkle*

Yep. After two years and no level 50's, I now have a reason to push myself to play only one character.

It's Heroes vs. Villains.

Yippee!

WTG States.

Really.

Thank goodness. If I see another bunch of heroes fighting to help Lord Recluse, I'm hanging up my cape.

Please can we make all PvP zones Hero vs. Villian? What is the point of having heroes trashing one another in PvP zones?

Only one is Free-for-All and there's a reason for it and it goes along the same lines as Items of Power. Would you rather trust someone else with something so powerful or yourself? ((If anyone says "someone else" I'll just have to accept that there are people I can easily plot against =P ))

the term is FFA Vs Factional
FFA is free for all..

self explanitory

factional is the two groups duking it out, ala heros v villains.

i personaly like factional alot more than FFA, which is just a cheap shot house for stalkers

And so goes the death of my pvp. I was hoping for another FFA but one where the villains and heroes could join teams.
This is another Sirens. I love siren's but, don't need another.

Hrmm. Sorry, can't make everyone happy. If, at some point, they did a high level FFA, I'd go there too, but a high level "faction" zone is almost a "no duh" from the development perspective, I would think, and benefits a lot of toons on both sides.

For example...MMs usually get damage in their later powers, which would help make them a little more dangerous than they are in SC. My Energy tank will be able to install fear in villians with his mighty ET+TF combo, whereas the mighty Energy Punch + Barrage combo is nowhere near as feared. Not to mention Hybernate, which is rather crucial to my pvp success in any zone. Transfusion, Unstoppable, Granite, etc, etc, etc,...

Sounds like it will be more like Sirens Call with some sort of NPC AoE attacks you can request. AoE attacks mean trouble for Stalkers.

If you have trouble with Stalkers on your Mastermind one thing you can do is get Invisibility and Phase Shift. You can still command your pets while Invisible and many Stalkers can't see you. You can also randomly phase shift to stay out of danger, if you make hunting you annoying enough people move on.

You can also get Tactics so you can see any Stalker that doesn't also have stealth.

Unless a Stalker is built strictly for PvP it is hard for the to fit Tactics in AND Stealth into their build so it helps you avoid the less "dedicated" Stalkers anyway. Stalkers dedicated to PvP the only way to deal with is to be in a team because while they can kill 1 person they don't have a lot of HPs. In PvP zones accept the fact that you are going to die, probably a lot.

If you can't handle the frustration of dieing suddenly and a lot you shouldn't go to the PvP zones because that is how they are going to work in this game for the forseeable future.
