You note the minnions, this means the lts will stay as they are right? Please say they are going to stay as they are, i love the challenge they provide.

What I want to see done with the CoT:

The introduction of Thorn lieutenants for all elements, as well as the sword-wielding variety.

The introduction of Mage liutenants to the 20+ game.

The presence of regular Behemoth minins, lieutenants and bosses pre 35 and the presence of regular Behemoth minions and winged Behemoth lieutenants and bosses post 35.

That said, I'm glad the Earth Thorn Casters are being changed. I hope this will at least curtail the "devs don't lisetn anymore" threads some.

This is somewhat disheartening. On one hand, the amount of quicksands dumped could be rediculoius, but it added variety. Does every single mob need to be nothing more than a reskinned skull wauiting to be mindlessly herded into a dumpster for maximum ae blastage?

Make thorn casters lt's, create some wimpy demons for minions if nothing else. The game needed to get harder in a way other than simply upping damage to one shot squishies (ie, mobs using debuffs and buffs), not dumbing it down so support AT's are needed even less.

Wow ... that's too bad!

I actually thought they were well built badguys. Really damn tuff but not overtly soo to any specific AT.

Every AT I tried against them had a challenge!

They were well built.

Team Teleport or Recall Friend (so any AT) or Speed Boost (Kine/* or */kine) can help quite a bit.

This is truly glorious news. I have already come to hate Earth Thorn Casters with my /regen scrapper... I didn't even want to IMAGINE what it would be like with my /SR when she gets that high.

I don't mind difficult fights, but i *HATE* being rendered unable to act... and having Earth Thorn Casters use Quicksand and then RUN AWAY was about the most annoying thing I have encountered in the game to date.

Slow is just an annoying power. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would disagree, but I'd happily trade the Knockback resist on Integration for a resistance to movement speed reduction (or better yet, Slow in general, but that might be asking too much ). It would even, in a way, be more thematic... I mean, how does Regeneration keep me from getting smacked across the room?

Forgive my laziness, for those who are passionate about this issue; but what exactly is the problem with stacked quicksands? I've done hordes of COT casters, and from a controller's perspective, they've never been an issue that led me to cry "nerf!" (Death Mages weren't as much a problem either, although deadly if left unchecked) Did something change recently about them? My last foray with them on a regular basis was a month or two ago.

Not trying to rain on the nerf parade here, but what are the challenges in fighting these mobs? I find Manticore's ninjas far more difficult with stacked caltrops, and even that's a relatively minor nuisance unless my SG pulls too many groups at one time.

I'm actually of mixed feelings on this. Quicksand and Caltrops are one reason I took Hover/Fly for my tank. Now I'm playing my illusion/rad controller, and I find Earth Thorn Casters to be a challenge, though also quite annoying. So I plan my strategy to take them out or hold them first to try to cut down on the amount of Quicksand I have to deal with.

However, I'll be glad not to have to deal with that much Quicksand in the future. My Dark/SR scrapper will be much happier for sure.

So is anyone gonna speak for the Thorn Casters who are getting nerfed? Shouldn't they be complaining that they're losing their best weapons against the heroes? Someone must represent these poor, abused bad guys!

A single minion auto-casted 2 Quicksands and I honestly believe that one of the casts was, in actuality, Tar Patch with the -Res and Slow.

I did a TF a little while back and had 3 rows of icons. Me and the tank were more or less out of the combat until it was done.

Make the power a toggle so any kind of hold disorient, whatever can stop it. Let brawl have a chance to knock off enemy toggles in PvE. Problem solved without dumbing the game down. Not every mob needs to be herded in packs reaching triple digits.

Any hero with teleport ignores quicksand (mostly, anyway) and group teleport becomes very useful. Which, I suppose, is why I've never had much of a problem with Earth Thorns myself.

Well, I was duoing a CoT mission with a friend (Controller/Scrapper) and we definitely weren't herding. We did, however run into packs of Earth Thorn Casters numbering 4,5, and 6. Traveling through Oranbega and all those twisty tunnels, it is pretty likely that you will turn a corner somewhere into a pack of mobs. If they got the drop on us it got quite difficult. Toss in a few Behemoths shooting flares at us and some Fire Thorn Casters and it got pretty miserable pretty quick. Again, no herding involved.

The "toggle" idea is pretty good, or simply limiting the number of Earth Thorn Casters that can appear in one place (much the way they limited sappers) could be a good solution.

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that Players complain when an AI stacks mutliple powers but they tend to do the exact same thing to the AI?
