Yeah, I agree. Oh by the way, that Ferrari that you've been driving for a year is due for maintenance. We're going to put in a Yugo engine. Just look at it as more of a challenge to get it up to 100MPH...

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you in Europe? If not, when would you ever be driving at 100 MPH?

The game is too easy. Plenty of people have already left because the game is too easy.

Why should their $15 be any less important than the people threatening to remove their $15 if the game gets harder?

How is everyone elses SG doing?

[/ QUOTE ]

Very good, thank you for asking. We're still getting more recruits (higher lvl people, 30+ mostly) here and there. We've had to dump alts to make room for more people.

Well Imps for the longest time had the HP and damage of minions instead of pets. That's the bug they were talking about.

I think Kruschev is right here. i feel the same way. And if i feel a certain way u should 2...

How about players just accept that the game is about to get a little more challenging? Strap in.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hehe well said. I don't understand why players aren't more excited about these changes.

They didn't put a Yugo engine in my Ferrari (change my powers) they just made the road more curvy so I can enjoy my Ferrari's performance more (toughed up the bad guys). Sorry, your analogy bit you in the balls.

So you felt the need to dig up a thread that had been dead for months just to refute the analogy? Where do you people find these long gone threads, anyway?

Thread Necromancy most foul!

I was going to jump on the bandwagon and scold you for bumping this old topic, but I suddenly forgot where I was or what I was talking about.

I'm sure he'll feel the sting of that irrefutable analogy once he remembers what it was supposed to be about.

I like that avatar, Revolver. Reminds me of...something...

The day I can only take on 3 mobs at once when i'm level 35 is the day I quit this game.

Just saying. - I love the game, but this vision says bye-bye to epic battles and hello to EQ2/WoW.

If I want to be limited to fighting the in the same scope for the entirety of my run to the cap, I'll play one of those games and at least be able to craft.

Man...you got me.

I read thru the first 2 pages of this thing before I looked at the dates on these posts. Learned my lesson on that one I can tell ya. Then again, when they started complaining about the purple patch I should've known something was fishy.

Seriously...where did this come from? Seems like once a month they purge the old stuff out of here.

A dev must have posted in there at some point thus this thread is saved from The Langoliers via RedName Eminant Domain

I know I will see you again on another game somewhere - one game can't hold all us crazies forever.

Some people just need to be on the cross at all times for the attention, I guess.

Look the only way I can get the upper hand is to post after I’m sure someone is long gone. I’m a pathetic shell of a person, thanks for pointing that out and making me cry. Does that make you feel better about yourself?

This was just a joke. I didn’t really cry ... much.

I've seen a lot of posts from you about how you want us to play the game.

You really, really, want to think carefully about forcing the players to your vision.

This game was a wild success with how it played, even if it wasn't precisely what you wanted. I've seen a few games (Anarchy Online for instance) where the players weren't playing it to the developers vision, so "changes" were made that actually made the game less fun (part of the reason I'm here and not there any more).

The path you're currently going down: nerfing everyone or buffing mobs until we're firmly in your "kill 3 whites", travel as a group to the contact/mission is pretty scary. I don't think that game would be as much FUN as the one I got at release.

It might be better to set ego aside, look at how your players WANT to play the game (not at how YOU want them to play it), and build content/design around that.

Well, just my .02, I'd hate to see what happened to AO happen to CoH.

All your gonna do is just farm behemoths anyways.

Lets clear something up here. Statesman is not trying to make players play the game how he wants. He's making the game into what HE wants and players have the option to take it or leave it, its been like that since launch. If you read the PCGamer UK interview several months ago you'd realise that Jack Emmett is infact very very unimpressed with the games industry in general.

No innovation, no attempt to break the mould and whats more is that alot of these development teams are making sub-standard games because they aren't enjoying or have a passion for their work. Why don't they have a passion? Because they're not making the games that they themselves want to see.

Passion for your work is what drives you. It means you strive for excellence not because you're paid by the hour but because YOU WANT something polished because YOU want it. Jack is making the game as he wants it to be, he likes risk vs reward. He doesn't like games which let you powerlevel through the content.

Ultimately the game is better because of it, the fact that CoX is in the top 3 best MMOs on the market shows that his way of doing things works. Whats more he's not making any kind of mistake because his vision of the game has no changed for the past 12 months and more. If CoX was going to fail, it would have done so by now.
