Quote:Season 7 was pretty bad too. The models were gone, replaced with CGI and that laughtrack was just 'ugh'.When the production values started to go up on that show, the funny started to decline. It's hard to imagine it getting less funny than the Back to Earth special, though (luckily, I've avoided seeing the American attempt). So, hopefully these new episodes bring back the funny.
The problem I find with RD is that Grant AND Naylor helped make it great together. Series 3-6 was probably the best era for the show. The style remained relatively consistent over those four years too and there was a good blend of physical and mental jokes from the best scene of series 3's Polymorph; the polymorph's tightening underwear to the 'use the teleporter' from the jail in series 6's Rimmerworld.
I hope there's a better set of writing staff for this one. -
I'd hazard a guess that it will be the 19th which is after the promotional period ends and everyone has their accounts validated with the 'Constant' badge (and whatever NCSoft uses as a flag on the master account side of things).

Quote:Okay, yes. I left out all that and more for a simpler analogy. The point was he'd still have to die to get all that. In my analogy Porky represents the bases I've made and while losing them to get a better system seems okay by the majority of posters here; I don't want to see them just go. I'd rather settle on a Eureka style meat farm that is; getting the better system but being able to transition the old bases across so everybody wins. Then the choice becomes ours as to whther we want to change things for the better ourselves ie. break down our current bases to make use of the new system.Son, you get a lot more meat from ol' Porky than that little bit you want to use in a cheese and ham omelette.
Ground Pork
Sausage
Hocks
Butt Steaks
Shoulder Roasts
Smoked Daisy
Loin Roast
Pork Chops,
Loin Rib Chops
Boneless Loin
Country-style Ribs
Canadian-style Bacon
Fresh Ham
Smoked Ham
Ham Steaks
Bacon
Jowl Bacon
Spare Ribs
and Pork Belly
So if sacrificing our current bases gets us so much more in return then I have no problem taking Porky to the butcher and getting him chopped up for food.
Thinking about it I was reminded of David Nakayama. A little while ago he asked us what we'd prefer if costumes got an overhaul. The hyptheticals he gave were 'keeping the old' and 'out with the old, bring in the new' and the con for the latter was 'change is scary'. A few pages in and we reached a happy medium of compromise: bringing in the new and keeping the old but giving the creator another pass, tidying things up.
I'd be all for a base system revamp so long as we got to keep the old stuff too. Now, excuse me while I make a bacon sandwich. -
I've actually been 'performing a free service' for peeps in [Union] Paragon city. My heoric widow is up to 145% of positional defense with her elude and mindlink up so I've been taunting the WL G.M.s to nearby drones or WW. I'm five for five so far (she's not died doing it but come close a couple of times). A few friends have mentioned a WL spawn and I just alt to my widow. One thought I'd managed to solo a WL when I'd just taunted him to the drones outside the Hollows entrance in Atlas Park. It's a fun little mini-game I've been playing
I don't blame the G-Ms since they're NCSoft and probably a) have all the NCSoft MMOs to monitor and b) get about 90% junk petitions from all those games to sift through. It wouldn't hurt to have a specialist or two whose main game is City of Heroes though.
And yes; it is very annoying when WLs don't despawn after a certain amount of time. -
Quote:Which I hope it doesn't. As said in the other thread; there's storage issues to consider. But to lean on that metaphor; everyone seems to want a cheese and ham omelette and that means slaughtering Porky, the lovable pig who's been part of the family for years. I don't want Porky slaughtered for what might be. I'd rather have the plain omelette (not the complete descruction but the interface change).Think of it this way,
The base building community wants to make this huge breakfast to feed everyone in the game, in order to do so, it's going to take all of our eggs to make this huge omelet.
Its going to take all of us to make this sacrifice in order for it to happen.
We will have to re-build our farms, re-hatch our chicks and its going to take some getting used to.
If I know anything about our dev team- The end result will breathe new life into bases, they will become so much more than they were before and people will be scratching their heads and saying things like "why didn't we do this sooner?"
I'm letting go of something -huge-
I'm in this all the way... well...IF it has to happen that way and IF it happens at all.
Quote:I invite you to come by Infinity <blueside> for a tour, as I would love to see your base as well. -
Quote:Long answer: nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooo. This thread's been going for a while. Have any of the suggestions back from the start been re-implemented yet?
At this point I imagine David and co. are doing the hard graft of actually converting these pieces for PC use. I doubt they'd go to the trouble of asking us what we wanted only to turn around and not do it. -
After six years, four of that waiting for proper antrho parts? None. That way I can't be disappointed (the Yahtzee method of cynical optimism).
-
Something like the Magnificent 7, a mock-up SG of seven people's characters showing them heroism in certain situations like the Tin Mage and Apex TFs or fighting against signature villains since the focus is on making us more powerful than the FP. Or vice-versa for a villain team.

I don't think I could.
After the Brighton office had a major restructure (read: layoffs), there was a lot of talk of players about whether the EU servers would soon follow. Now as it turned out it was mostly panic-posting due to the absense of confirmation/statement from our EU rep at the time about what was going on but it did make me think; "could I start over on the US servers?".
Thinking about it; the answer was "no". Not to the same degree. I had a plan, mainly from boredom, about consolidating all my alts into a single group on a single server, if they'd offered, if I had to 'start over'.
As it happened it was just doomsaying run rampant with speculation of what might be happening while they sorted out the office (the EU servers are still here nearly three years later and moved nextdoor to the US rack) but that answer still lingers in my mind.
More recently during the Cyber Monday; my master account was banned because of an external hacking attempt. Now this was early hours of Monday morning so I had several hours to contemplate 'starting over' again. Same thing but add in vet rewards and the bundles of salvage and effort in reclaiming what bases I could not to mention all the 'never-again' stuff that I'd built up in my time here. Thankfully it ended happily, I'm here, with a G-M telling me that someone had tried to access my account from 'elsewhere' and about 50 codes later I had access restored. A long 36 hours.
HOWEVER, to rope my thoughts in, I'd find the best way is if they could 'start from scratch' but find a way of being able to import the current state of bases. A lot of builders have put masses of effort to make some extraordinary creations. I myself have an bookshop concealing an underground base (one that I've spent most of the last year creating), an airship base, an Arachnos base as well as my own personal bases one which has a forest room, a cinema, a workshop and a large library.
I'd prefer still having all the stuff that is available with extras like the empty beaker rack and all the new furniture even if the interface and system was rebuilt. I spent a lot of time on my bases so I'd like to keep them, even if the interface became more advanced. -
Quote:A mind/fire dominator is one of the good combos along with mind/nrg. Fiery Assault would give you the fire powers and doms have Fire Mastery that would give you some more fire-based powers like Rise of the Phoenix, Fire Shield and Rain of Fire.See, that there is my problem. Too many choices. Since the goddess was the one in control, I didn't flesh out the sorceress part much beyond a personality sketch, so controlling plants and tossing lightning bolts around seemed equally likely.
So, one vote for mind control "feeling" right, any one else have a thought? -
First; no. FBSA is a government body, AE (as hard as it to swallow THAT concept of Crey and Aeon Corp) is a private business. And I don't think anyone would appreciate the implications of being Dr. Aeon's and Countess Crey's lackeys. I'd prefer more government buildings where you can pay it. And no removing the portal in Croatoa. One zone to zone anywhere is often a better choice than multiple train journeys (not everyone has the base-tp power and we'd have to zone to an located AE).
Second; most of the encounter stuff seems to be geared towards adding bosses-only which seems to slide towards boss-farming (the ambush option was missing but I'm guessing that either stays or would have a boss-only option too). Some of the other options are exactly the same but worded differently. There's already a helper and the rest do share some objective limits already (Ally, Escort, Battle and Captive all count in one detail pool).
Third; while the idea of merits might appeal, we already have reward, alignment and Vanguard merits that could be used already as well as prestige, the native SG currency. And certainly not for AE participation
Fourth; increasing prestige and lowering xp won't stop the AE being 'exploited', it merely changes the focus of 'exploitation'. With those settings; it'll be a prestige-farming tool instead.
A detailed, concise suggestion but I don't like the look of it. -
Quote:From how I read it; it will be a pack available to buy but as part of the loyalty scheme this year anyone who's subbed for the loyalty time will get it for free.Very cool. I've always felt that the Vanguard Costume pieces required way to much effort to get (especially for people who dislike MS raids). Getting them at level 1 will be cool, I just hope you (eventually) either put the pack in the store for a few bucks or just give it to everyone so that people who aren't playing at this time can also benefit.
Quote:Super!!!!!
I've had some ideas for a few of those weapons that I never bothered with 'cause they unlock so late in the game. And I don't really remember seeing that costume emote before -- I like it, and think I'll get some use out of it. This is great news, indeed.
Quote:is the new pet in addition to any i have already picked? or just a new choice?
Quote:I LOVE FREE STUFF!!!! This time I didn't have to show my boobies!
Definitely a nice choice of loyalty reward. Now I can focus on getting enough for the VG salvage stack. I hope David managed to get the second VG belt and the back detail in. I think my head would literally explode like that guy in Scanners. -
.... you get an email about some pills that help with ED and wonder how you can slot them into your build
(True story, just deleted it now about certain blue pills). -

Yes, after two days of solid grind for it (and thankfully before the full health reclamators were installed in PvP zones).
Quote:Finally finished the Day Job Badges today. However, I still have the villainside Day Job Accolade powers to max out.
Here is are my questions (which I tried to search for but I keep getting the Error 500 message on these CoH boards today on searching, so, sorry if they are repeat questions).
I know you have to be Villain or Rogue to get the Villain Day Job badges. I heard you cant get them if you are a Vigilante. However, now that I have the badges as a pure Villain, if I go all the way around back to Vigilante, can I recharge the Accolade Villain only powers (ex = Web Grenade from Web Weaver/Anti-Arachnos Activist and Smoke Bomb from Black Ops/Defector) as a Vigilante? Or do they recharge only as a Villain/Rogue?
If theres a duplicate of a power, ex: Sleep Gas from Whistleblower (Crey Scientist) and Sleep Gas from Scientist (Crackpot), do I get 1 copy of each? Or 1 total?
There seems to be quite a few Flight powers (called Flight, Jet Pack and Travelers Jet Pack based on the location). Since they are named differently, can I get 1 of each, or are they all basically 1 flight toggle? (Havent risked wasting 21 days to find out)
Thanks in advance for your help. -
I'm halfway to my last redside-specific day job. I've been saving them up before I switch and had a plan to do the new redside arc for 'Keeper of the Coral Lore' and then follow it up with Usurper. When I do switch I'll get five DJs and 3 accolades bringing me up to 1162.
I do hope we get a healing aura with one of these Incarnate slots as that ones looking to be the toughest to get for my /ff troller -
Or M.E.B.A.
I happened to be adding Mender Ramiel to the list of contacts on the Ouroboros zone page when I noticed Chrononaut had the hero/villain basic explore badge.
So why not update it with a special Ouro explore version instead, following on from the new hazard zones exploration badge art update. Maybe like the Chronologist badge but with a golden border.
And Cimerora could do with a unique explore badge to go with its Roman and Temporal strife badge.
Okay, it's just two badges but I'm sure the PvP zones can't be far behind for an update either -
Quote:However getting the exploration badge, Depths of Time, or completing the ITF does since they're both badges involving a use and/or exposure to time-travel.Does getting to Cimerora give Ouro access? If so, that's another solo way the OP can get there (and it can't be outleveled AFAIK).
I'm not sure if the Roman badge does too as I always have the Ouro portal ASAP with every toon these days. -

Bases - for the lego-like fervour I get from building in them. So many unfinished ones still need attention but it's one of the few things I really enjoy.
David - for taking a page from WW's book and actually asking us what we wanted, talking with us instead of to us like a certain someone(s).
War Witch - for speaking from your heart, particularly your unofficial 5th Anniversary address that read more like poetry than a speech. And for listening to us even when we gripe. Seriously, thanks for that. -
I've used it to level alts on my main account by pacting with my second account and taking that second account alt along with my 50. So I end up levelling an alt on the same account I'm playing.
It's very handy when your best fighting toon is on the same account you want to PL another alt with. Although I haven't used it in a while since GR came out and I acually like the content in Praetoria. -
Quote:Actually I've used that page to pick my choice by a simple choice system:Here is link to the alpha slot trees:
http://goingrogue.na.cityofheroes.co...lpha-slot.html
I await the more sophisticated replies with interest, but at the simple straightforward level, isn't it simply a question of which attributes you want more of for a given character?
1} Which can I get the most enhancement from?
OR
2}Which would be the best fit?
My main Incarnate is a mind/ff troller and I've spent years getting his build just right. His build was 'done' so I went with option 1. I chose the Nerve Radial path leading up to the Nerve Radial Paragon since I can get boosts of accuracy, hold, confuse, fly and defense buffs (five out of six of the available enhances from the ultra-rare).
My third Incarnate is a Night Widow. While her endurance is managable; it's horrendously low at times when she's not using Elude (which then has the endurance crash at the end). Originally I was going with Option 1 and choose Musculature Core path leading up to the Core Paragon to enhance all her damage moves, defense debuffs and her one immobilize patron power. Then I decided to compensate for her endurance issues and plump for option 2 and choose the Cardiac Core Paragon to reduce all her non-auto powers, increase her damage resistence and the range of five powers instead.
My second incarnate is my MM and it was pretty much a free choice with her since she hasn't had any endurance issues since inherent fitness and has moves that could benefit from every Alpha. So I went option 2 and chose Musculature Core Boost to enhance her damage and defence debuff powers. It may lead to the Radial or Core Paragon.
So I don't really work with the numbers at all, I go for what feels right or best based on the alt in question. -

Quote:Is it the exact same room as Director 11's because I do not recall seeing the ramps to the areas behind walls on the sides in director 11's room? If it is the same room there that would be intersting becuase the Director 11 room does not seem to have the same problems.
If too much light is the issue, maybe we will luck out with an easy fix...Quote:The "blue floor room" is indeed different than the D11 room, but both of them are new.
I had the same problem with the Praetorian lab maps when GR launched but they were eventually toned down. Originally I thought it was a graphics glitch on my mac client playing in low resolution but then I switched to my laptop and they were even brighter.
