My Warshade & (Ice) Tank always prefer more mobs to higher level mobs, though they can both deal with higher level ones as long as there are lots of them.
-
Ice!
But then I've always been a little biased in that direction... -
I tend to slot a single EndRdx/Range IO unless I have spare slots (which never happens on a Warshade), though I have sometimes made use of the +Stealth IO when it's made sense to do so.

Quote:It wasn't anything to do with the appearance of the characters, it was their accents; starting with Ben Kingsly doing his Ben Kingsly impression all the way to the guy operating the ostrich races being a full-on east-end geezerYou do know that Iran means Land of the Aryans right? I've known quite a few of Persians in my life, and many of them were very Caucasian...or at least close to Jake Gyllenhaal in appearance.

Quote:No, but saying "My sports car can currently do 180mph on the freeway" does imply that in the future you may see it either do more than 180mph or do 180mph on something other than the freeway.Yes, there is reason to put it in if they're not planning on actually putting in cross server play. Namely, to stop questions ahead of time about cross server play.
If I say "My sports car can do 180 Mph on the freeway," it doesn't mean that, in the future, it may do so as well on the water or that flight in that car is a possibility being considered. -
Quote:Well it does mean that, for example, if you've got a load of Res-buffing team-mates and you get mezzed and Eclipse drops, you've still got a fairly decent chance of survival. Also, the Controller/Dominator buff is always handy for the mez protection, though I'm yet to be convinced on use of the Kheldian/SoA Slow/-Recharge RES component. You know, I had never thought of it that way, but I kind of like it. Actually, I really like it. That's how the inherent is intended to function, at least.
But we're still brought back to "everything has a cap, and since the warshade can reach that on his own, and ironically, even easier with a team (since spawn sizes will be bigger), what good does the inherent ever do?" -
Quote:That's nothing, ancient Persia was full of cockneysThis! After all, its a well known fact that ancient greeks and romans were all of english descent (according to the movies anyway) Why wouldn't future Japan be the same
Seriously, terrible movie but all the accents turned it into something akin to Monty Python's Life of Brian, which made it fairly entertaining -
Thing is, I kind of don't mind as long as the movie is good. The least of the problems with the Last Airbender was the choice of casting; it was just a dreadful film. The problem is that if take the name of a popular property and "remake" it completely differently then you inevitably upset all the fans of the original, but they obviously figure it's worth doing to have the name of the original attached (which seems stupid as the only people who will want to see it because of the name are the same fans you've alienated with all your changes).
Take The Italian Job; the remake a few years back was a fairly entertaining caper film, but because they tried to pretend it was a remake of the original Italian Job, but made sweeping changes to just about everything, it greatly lowered my opinion of it. -

b) "...more crafting tables hero-side." -
Quote:As the breakdown numbers are terrible, how about offering a conversion instead? Say, Tier X Alpha + 8 Shards can be converted to a Tier X-1 Alpha of another "type". That way you don't have to re-craft everything but there's still a cost/penalty associated with changing trees.Well I don't know if I'm the only one that's not had the foresight to completely plan out a character but I've recently come across the following situation. I started out making up a Spiritual alpha and go all the way to V Rare and started to make the second (got to uncommon stage) and then I finalised my rebuild of the character before realising I needed to go for another Alpha. The problem is I can't find a way to breakdown the 2 existing alpha's at all...
What do you guys think... give us the ability to breakdown an unused alpha for X amount of shards? -
You have to do 10 tip missions followed by a morality mission to earn Hero or Villain merits.
More specifically, you have to re-confirm your alignment (i.e. you don't get a merit the first time you confirm your alignment or switch alignment) and you can't earn merits as a Rogue or Vigilante. Also, if you change alignments, you lose unspent merits you've earned.
You can "buy" Alignment Merits for 50 Reward Merits + 20 million Inf. -
Quote:Well, there are two ways you can read it (and the Devs have been typically coy when questioned on it)Don't read too much into that.
It's meant that it can be used in the future for other things like TFs and CoPs and Raids *in the same server*.
Of course, that doesn't mean cross server something won't be implemented sometime.... soon.

Well, 1920x1200 is 16:10 and 1920x1080 is 16:9 so I would assume it's an issue with the aspect ratio whereby something (maybe in the driver) is "correcting" the game for you when you run it at 1920x1200 but when you take the screenshot it's not being "corrected" and hence looks out when you view it later.
There was a similar issue back in the day with SVCD video, which had an odd AR and if the player you were watching them in didn't know to handle it, they would display it with far too narrow a horizontal resolution.
I would suggest checking the driver options for any kind of scaling or AR settings that might be affecting it. Alternatively, try rolling back to the previous driver version and seeing if the problem goes away; that will at least rule the new driver in or out of the investigation. -
Quote:I don't think it's a case of him controlling it, more that he doesn't care about (or is willing to accept, at least temporarily) the well controlling *him*, whereas States and Recluse have both gone out of their way to try and reduce the amount of influence the well has over them.
What makes Cole so powerful that he can CONTROL the Well of the Furies? Why can't Statesman or Recluse do that? -
If they just kick off the reset password mechanism, yes, but for the security question issues they seem mostly to just blank the answers so you can login without having to supply them.

Quote:Which, incidentally, is why you can summon Warshade pets and use Unchain Essence on an ignited oil slick, because it's "dead" and cons as an enemy mob.Fire and Energy should ignite Oil Slick.
Sadly, despite Castle's best efforts, it sometimes will not ignite no matter what you try.
I believe it has to do with it's unique status--it's the only power that summons an pseudo-pet that cons as enemy to players(so you can damage and kill it AKA 'ignite') and to enemy groups. -
If you have Steam, you can run CoH through it and then use the Steam Overlay's new Screenshot functionality to take screenshots, though they can be a bugger to find for export.

Quote:Your support account and master account are separate, so you should still be able to login to your support account and change the address from there that support emails goto.I don't think I can change my email address that things to go without accessing my account to begin with. I doubt that support would be keen on sending my new password to a completely new email account.
When I did mine a few weeks back they just reset my security questions and all communication was over the "support" email address rather than the master account one, for obvious reasons. -
Quote:Just remember that the Snipping Tool is part of the Tablet PC Components (for some reason) and may not be installed by default (or available at all) depending on your Windows version. The Snipping Tool is included in Vista and 7 (if you're still on XP, shame on you!
). You can find it by just typing 'snipping tool' in the start menu, or going to start menu -> all programs -> accessories -> snipping tool. I love the Snipping Tool, since it includes built-in cropping that's a lot nicer than mspaint's (and faster to load than the gimp... and isn't the gimp).

Resistance reduces incoming damage from being hit (Up to 90% for Tanks).
Defence reduces the number of hits you receive (Up to 225% for Tanks but mobs always have a 5% chance to hit you).
The Defence Soft-Cap is (usually) 45%, this means that if you have at least 45% defence then against the vast majority of mobs, they only have a 5% chance to hit you.
Resistance has the advantage that while you're getting hit a lot, your health tends to go down slowly, so you have more time to react. With Defence, you don't get hit very often, but when you do it can really hurt (especially vs AVs) because you take the full force of the attack. -
Quote:Personally, mostly luck. The purple sets I needed were at the cheaper end of the spectrum (100-200mil per IO) and I got a couple of purple drops in Tip missions that netted me ~800 million. If you don't get luck with the drops, it can take a looong time - one thing you can do to speed things up a little is to run the WST, take the merits, cash them in for Rare Salvage rolls (10 each) and then sell those for 1-3mil each.I have been toying with trying to purple out one of my characters. Just for grins this morning I checked out the prices for some purple sets. JESUS F**KING CHRIST! If I took all the inf. From all 14 of my characters I could buy one, just one, purple IO. How do you people do it? I can not imagine the amount of grinding you would have to do to have a complete set let alone a set in most powers. Is there something Im missing or is that it? Just grind, grind, grind.
I suspect that a lot of other people just run endless farm missions. -
Just start the game with the -launcher switch and you'll get the goodies anyway.

And of course the same is true in the opposite direction for a certain American term for bottom.

VMware Fusion/Virtualbox/etc running XP or, preferably, 7 is probably your best bet.
