A little question regarding screenshots

Tried now to do plenty of screenshots on my characters. Print scr button is the one i use. In-game screenshots are put in the screenshot folder no problem.

Sometimes I am doing screenshots from character creation. My normal way of doing this is print scr button, then go into a program like ms paint and paste the image in. Then do editing.

My problem is that the image i get into paint is darker then the one I have in-game.
I've tried putting up the brightness or lowering gamma, but when I then copy+pasted the image... it was still as dark as before.

Do anyone got suggestions to what I could do, programs to use etc?
Thank you in advance

Try pasting into Irfanview (free program) from there you can go to the "Image" menu->"Color Correction" and gamma correct there.

A more powerful (still free) program would be Gimp which you can use "Levels" to have even more control over the image.

Thank you, will try that.

(Just hope that the annoying bug/unwanted feature I experience, entailing the background of npc chatboxes, gui windows etc which vanish... will stop bothering me)

Paint.net is also an excellent free paint program for windows, easier to use than GIMP, less featured but more than ifranview.

I have been experiencing the same thing lately. The only way I have been able to deal with it is post-screenshot production. Which I feel is sort of lame. *shrug* but there's a solution.

I am also experiencing a sizing issue. My monitors native res is 1920x1200 which I am running it in. However, the game is being run in 1920x1080. Let me explain, when I run the game in 1920x1200 the toons and environment look kind of squat. In 1920x1080 everything looks normal. Now, when I take the screenshot (game res 1920x1080) and look at it later, the toons/environment look squat. This is a fairly new occurrence and has happened after driver updates. CoH is the only place I experience this. Other games screens come out fine.

Anyone have any ideas other then pasting into your favorite free utility?

Well, 1920x1200 is 16:10 and 1920x1080 is 16:9 so I would assume it's an issue with the aspect ratio whereby something (maybe in the driver) is "correcting" the game for you when you run it at 1920x1200 but when you take the screenshot it's not being "corrected" and hence looks out when you view it later.

There was a similar issue back in the day with SVCD video, which had an odd AR and if the player you were watching them in didn't know to handle it, they would display it with far too narrow a horizontal resolution.

I would suggest checking the driver options for any kind of scaling or AR settings that might be affecting it. Alternatively, try rolling back to the previous driver version and seeing if the problem goes away; that will at least rule the new driver in or out of the investigation.
