Does Incendiary Ammo ignite Tar Patch?

Title says it all. Looking for a DP corruptor.

I don't think anything ignites Tar Patch.

OSA from TA? Yes, yes it does. That's how my DP/TA Corr does it.

Anything that deals fire or energy damage will ignite OSA. A useful trick for characters without a suitable power in their other powerset is to use Technology or Mahic Origin since the origin powers from them deal energy damage.

I've had some less-than-reliable results lighting Oil Slicks with my TA/A Defender; sometimes Blazing Arrow just doesn't want to do the trick.

Now, my Rad/Rad Corr used to team a lot with a friend's Ninja/TA MM, and my Corr was 100% good for lighting OSAs. In trying to ascertain the difference, the only thing I ever came up with was the fact that Blazing Arrow (WARNING: working from memory) does Lethal damage with a fire DOT "kicker," while my Rad's attacks are all Energy damage.

The pet theory I developed was that for some unknown-to-me reason, sometimes the game would decide that the Oil Slick was defeated by the fire DOTs and therefore, FWOOSH, but sometimes it decided it was via the main lethal chunk of damage, and therefore, no ignition.

No idea if that's what's actually going on, just my theory. /em_shrug

Sadly, despite Castle's best efforts, it sometimes will not ignite no matter what you try.
I believe it has to do with it's unique status--it's the only power that summons an pseudo-pet that cons as enemy to players(so you can damage and kill it AKA 'ignite') and to enemy groups.

The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

I'm pretty sure that they finally patched that problem 3 or so issues ago. I believe it was Black Scorpion that did the work on it (I could be wrong on who it was that came up with the fix though). I haven't had a misfire on OSA since then.

It does ignite better than it used to.

But I have seen where my Apprentice Charm ignites it more than my other powers, which baffles me.

Which, incidentally, is why you can summon Warshade pets and use Unchain Essence on an ignited oil slick, because it's "dead" and cons as an enemy mob.
