Even if it does- sort of misleading blueside due to the almost-always-present warwalls and their blue haze.

... Unless there's something on on the test/beta servers that I'm not aware of, in the costume/power editing screen the moon/sun icons only make the editor's background darker/lighter so that you can see some colours/shades that might otherwise blend in to the background and be difficult to see.

The thing is, the value of every point of defence is directly related to how much defence you already have.
If you're sitting at 15% defence, 4-6%, while nice, isn't a big deal
If you're already soft-capped, 4-6% is perhapps not a big deal (provides a little buffer for def-debuff or minor enemy tohit buffs)
If you're sitting at 40%, however, 4-6% can DOUBLE your survivability against foes with 'standard' tohit. -
Quote:Really? I know they changed fly from needing a little over one slot to bring it in line with other travel powers, but i thought you still needed to put SOMETHING in there to hit the cap. But looking at the wiki, you're right. ... Looks like I get to slot more KB protection/slow resist in a few buildsThe flight speed in Fly was buffed, so that Fly on its own hits the Flightspeed cap by default. Slotting Fly for Flightspeed is a waste -- I generally just put in an EndRdx and/or a Stealth or -Knockback. The Raptor Pack also flies at speed cap. Buffing Flightspeed only really helps with Hover, so this buff will only affect Hover. Maybe Group Fly . . . I haven't checked that one.
And gameboy's right, I had kinda forgotten about the level reduction for mm pets when there's more than one of the critter for the first two pet powers. With That in mind I'd definately go with Nerve - helps your pets get a little more edge on that level penalty, and buffs the defensive powers.
Keep in mind this may not be the best choice for all Masterminds, but for the sets you have it would seem to provide the most synergy. -
It can be any two different rares from the same tree. Muscular Total Core Revamp can be paired with any other rare Muscular to make either or the two very rares.
The scroll bar on the very rares goes quite a bit further, revealing 6 different recipes. Only limitation is that you can't use two of the exact same rare (2x Muscular Total Core Revamp), or rares from different trees (musculature rare + cardiac rare). -
Quote:Generally speaking, Spiritual (recharge) and Cardiac (End Reduction) are often the most useful based on the primary boost; most builds are often rubbing up against the ED cap damage wise, and outside of debuffs/enemy buffs most builds are slotted in such a way that under normal circumstances chance to-hit is seldom under 95%.If it does not, my MM has three attacks and then a hold and an immobile from Mako. Other than the endurance Incarnate, I can't really think of how any of the others would do much. Maybe the regen one for the heal? But outside of that, I am kind of wondering what to do with him Incarnate wise.
That said, Bots/FF/Leviathan (generally speaking, without knowing the specifics of your build):
- CARDIAC
- Primary; End reduction
- Self explanatory, most things take end reduction. Summoning/equipping your bots will take less endurance. Your buffs and toggles require less endurance, as do your (few) attacks.
- Secondary; Range/resist
- not too useful, range is nice, and it helps School of Sharks (and teleport, if you have it). Unless you're running Tough or Shark Skin resist isn't helping you
- Tertiary; Fear/sleep/intangibility
- Not much in here for you unless you're dabbling in the Presence pool.
- Primary; End reduction
- MUSCULATURE
- Primary; damage
- As I said earlier, most builds already slot for ED cap in terms of damage, not that there's anything wrong with wanting a little extra oomph. I tend to shy away from musculature unless there's good synergy with something in the secondary/tertiary.
- Does apply the enhancement value to your bots. something to consider
- Secondary; Immobilize/Def-Debuff
- Immobilize helps School of Sharks. Doesn't look like you benefit from debuff at all.
- Tertiary; End Mod/Run/Tohit-Debuff
- End mod could assist the Inerrant Stamina, if you have endurance issues it's something to consider (that said I don't know many masterminds that have endurance issues beyond setting up the pets)
- Not sure how useful the run is in this era of inherent fitness/ninja run... If you like to move about quickly in missions, it could free up the slot in SS or Sprint for a stealth IO (or knockback protection in SS)
- Primary; damage
- NERVE
- Primary; Accuracy
- Bonus accuracy. Chances are you can hit 95% of the time anyway, but can be helpful in some situations.
- Secondary; Hold/Defense
- This is what makes Nerve tempting on a bots/ff mastermind. The defense. It will boost all your bubbles, maneuvers, and the bubbles your protector bots cast on you and your bots.
- The leviathan hold will last longer
- Tertiary; Taunt/confuse/fly
- Taunt could be useful if you're into the presence pool.
- If your MM gets around by flying, this could free up that slot for stealth or one of the universal travel IOs.
- Primary; Accuracy
- SPIRITUAL
- Primary; Recharge
- Your two Shields recharge quicker, might mean a little less down time when reapplying shields to team mates/bots/both
- What few attacks you have recharge quicker giving you a better attack chain (and lets you fire off your hold more often).
- Secondary; Heal/Disorient
- Outside of pool powers, you might not have much use for heal, but your protector bots take it, so presumably they'd heal your other bots for a greater percentage of health. I never see them use it in combat, personally - and after combat it's probably faster to dismiss and resummon seriously injured bots anyway. Oh, right - and health from inerrant fitness.
- Protector bots and the assault bots take disorient, as does photon grenade (if you took it)
- Tertiary; Slow/jump/tohit buff
- Jump - again, depending on your travel power choice, if any, could free up a slot for special IOs.
- Tohit buff might help if you took tactics
- Primary; Recharge
Otherwise I'd go with a core spiritual - CARDIAC

Quote:Nearly costs less than the popcorn alone >.>Given that one month of sub time costs less than a movie ticket, popcorn, and drink at most movie theaters these days; you're getting a lot more bang for your buck with the CoX subscription.
I don't buy snacks at the theater any more. -
Quote:If this EVER happens again, find someone on your team with taunt (even if it's the same WP tank/brute), and have them run and get a jetpack (if they don't already have some means of flight).WP Tankers who don't have enough Defense or Regen to tank Recluse long enough to even take down a single tower
All they have to do then is put taunt on auto, and fly high enough that taunt can still reach Recluse. Worst case scenario - Recluse can still hit you with his ONE ranged attack. But it's on a long enough recharge that the a couple of greens or a single defender/controller/corruptor can heal you back up again. And it frees up the defender to not need to completely babysit the tank, and attack the pylons. -
If you subscribe by credit card, once your current time runs out your card will be billed according according to the subscription model you choose, and the equivalent amount of months will be added to your account. (there are discounts for subscribing for more than a month at a time)
If you for some reason do not wish to play any more, you can cancel future billing - You'll still have whatever time you payed for, but the card will not be auto-billed when the time expires.
(additionally, I believe you can subscribe by other means, like paypal - not sure how auto billing works with those)
If you subscribe by game time card, when you enter the serial number of the card to your account, an equivalent amount of time will be added to your account. Just be aware that you must enter another time card before your time ends (or switch to another payment method) if you do not want to be temporarily locked out of the game between when one ends and you enter the next one.
Whatever you choose, know that there is no penalty for having an inactive account, your characters and their levels/enhancements/whathaveyou will still be there if you ever choose to re-subscribe. -
Ok, well - I guess I'm wrong. I always felt ED was a good move on it's own (admittedly a little hard to get used to at first). So I figured inventions were made to fit around the new system rather than the system being altered to fit the future content. Mea culpa.

*blink* nothing wrong with everything else in your post, but... no. The point behind Enhancement Diversification was to 'force' people to diversify their enhancement slotting - slot more than just Acc/dam/dam/dam/dam/dam in every attack power (or in some fringe cases like /devices blasters, slotting 6*dam, and have targeting drone pick up the slack).
I really don't think the ED in issue 6 was brought about by the inventions in issue 9. -
The 'problem' is that sound.pigg, on it's own, is 589MB. And the updater is not the greatest at reporting network speeds/processing cycles... It should finish it eventually...
Also, It's probably damn near pointless to install off a disk that old. You're probably going to end up downloading the entire game anyway, so just get the client off the main site (assuming you have no way to copy the client from an old hard drive). -
I'm pretty sure there's been a lot of this sort of thing going on recently (since about issue 19 or 18)... If I had to guess, I'd say the devs had to revamp relationship tables for Praetoria and its factions to work right, and it kinda had an adverse effect when propagated to existing content.
Other odd consequences of the change are hostile boss targets engaging their escorts. Notably bosses of a different faction than their escort - in Mako's patron arc, you face off against a longbow agent trying to get off the isles with the help of KoA mercenaries. The agent now attacks his escort. -
I only had to use the NCsoft launcher for one game - that third person mecha thing that I cant find on the ncsoft site any more and can't remember the name of.
EDIT: Exteel. -
There is... assuming the widow is over lvl 20 and you have going rogue.

If TFs/SFs are your only requirement, any server will do if you get on the global channels. Heck, on Triumph last night while it was one of the lowest two servers in term of load, we had at least 2 STFs underway at any time, and there were still LGTFs, RenaultSFs and LRSFs being formed until after midnight (cst) when I logged off to get some sleep.

Quote:You haven't read through the "Rude Tells" thread, have you? You're kidding me.... people actually do that!
I mean, I've restarted some Masters of task forces that had fail as long was we weren't too far in. And of course, restarts due to difs being set too low or high but outside of once when we switched players I've never seen it done.
That's just crazy... -
Quote:musculature, eh... well, how much do you need/want endmod? Conserve power doesn't seem to take it, but you'd get some use in unstopable and inherrant stamina. You seem to get no benefit out of tohit debuffs. Run speed, while nice, won't do too much beyond getting you from point 'A' to point 'B' a bit faster if you hoof it.Okay, I'm kind of torn. I went with musculature but I'm now having second thoughts as to whether I should go core or radial. On one hand the 45% damage increase is very tempting though I'm not sure I'd get much from the 45% to immobilize. On the other hand radial seems a lil better rounded out in the end.
I guess I just need someone to come in and argue why I should take one over the other. lol I'm seriously not sure which to choose.
Side Note: In the end would a tank with core or radial win over the other? I'm not so much into pvp but I'm just curious as to the results.
Unless you are desperate for a little more recovery from two powers, the extra 3 boosts in the musculature radial don't look that useful to a Inv/SS/EM tanker. Really, the only thing in musculature you would seem to benefit from, at all, is the damage boost. If you're already up against the ED cap, the T4core has 30% boost that ignores ED, while the T4radial has 22%.
So, is the loss of an ~8% damage enhancement worth some endmod and runspeed? *shrug* -
Quote:No; in the crafting window, select a very rare, and scroll down. It's a limitation of the implementation of crafting in CoH. Each combination of rare alpha powers requires it's own recipe.I think they need to correct the info in the tree then, it doesn't reflect that any 2 rares will work.
IE: the recipe for a radial paragon is not
[TC/PC/PR/TR] + [TC/PC/PR/TR] + [salvage cost]
it is
[PC] + [PR] + [salvage cost],
[TR] + [PR] + [salvage cost],
[TR] + [PC] + [salvage cost],
[TC] + [TR] + [salvage cost],
[TC] + [PR] + [salvage cost], and
[TC] + [PC] + [salvage cost].
6 seperate recipes that give the same thing.
(they must, of course, be from the same tree; you can't combine a rare musculature and a rare spiritual.) -
Paragon Wiki entry on the ins and outs of costume slots and cape/aura missions. Relevant portions of text for your lvl 22:
Capes (lvl20+) [note; unless something's changed recently, I believe you must complete the cape missions from the contact before they'll offer you the missions to unlock auras at 30]
- Heroes should visit City Representative in City Hall in Atlas Park to undertake a mission to unlock capes.
- Villains should visit or contact by phone their original contact (Kalinda or Matthew Burke) in Mercy Island to undertake a mission to earn the right to wear a cape.
- Heroes should visit Serge in the Steel Canyon branch of Icon.
- Villains should visit The Facemaker in the Cap au Diable branch of Face.

Quote:Yeah, on a disk that old... any files that have not changed over the years are probably so small that it would just be faster to download them with everything else than waste the time reading the entire disk for them...On discs that old, a bit over six years old, I really doubt that there is any file which hasn't been changed and will need to be downloaded anyway.
EDIT: And welcome to the game, Thorlin! If you plan to stick around for any length of time - Paragon Wiki is a good reference guide on just about any subject. And don't hesitate to ask us about anything that has you stumped. -
I don't mind the anti-power-field in the auction house, but I do dislike that the NPCs are all at the back of the room, forcing me to jog at what feels like a snail's pace over to them.
And as much as I can see some peoples' desire to proliferate this to the other markets, I don't think it's a particularly good idea red side with the current "open air" concept it has going ('specially in cap; it's right in the middle of the path from the ferry to everything else in the zone). -
I liked #6 with freak lts. Not so much for the exploit, mind you - It was just awesome wading through a sea of almost never ending self rezzing freak lts.
