I wish I could come up with a non-exploitive (is that even a word?) way to allow for plays to be counted per character rather than per global.
There are several arcs, especially those rare low-levels that I've played through with multiple characters. I loved to see some type of recognition for something that is so enjoyable, you seek it out over and over again. -

Quote:I too prefer the lower population servers with Triumph as my main. Most problems seem to be people not using server channels (mostly out of ignorance). I've pointed that out in many threads over the past couple years, and even made sure to add a "Welcome to Victory" thread to help out people with those on my home server.
When most people find out about those, the problem is almost always solved.
My only complaint is the limit with server channels (a complaint that has been brought up before).
With many of these channels being invite only, it's really too much hassle to drop/add channels for each different server I'm on. So, my characters on Triumph, Protector and Liberty usually have any TF/SF I want on them. My characters on other servers would probably have a lot more if I had the ability to double my channels. -
How do you normally play? On large teams, small teams, solo?
Do you have a final goal or just want to enjoy the sets until 50?
Kin is often paired with hasten, speedy gets speedier.
ID is nice for smaller teams but used less so on larger teams.
If you plan to always be on large teams, building towards tactics is nice since all of your powers require a tohitt.
That being said. . . If any of my fires can fit bonfire in, I take it. It's giggle worthy and quite useful once you learn how to position it. -
*notes to self*
When bored on conference calls. . if I'm going to read GA's posts, make sure I'm on mute.
I now need to explain why I found a critical break funny enough to burst out laughing. -
Quote:I dont know anyone that uses tickets for silver or gold, just rare salvage and bronze rolls. That said, I'd like to see tickets get nerfed a bit more for recipe rolls (not salvage its nerfed enough there already). Its kind of silly that the easiest way to make money is to kill a bunch of virtual^2 stuff and then take bronze rolls (Gold rolls should be removed outright.....TF need to have some value still).
I havent done a comparison between standard mission recipe drops vs. AE bronze ticket rolls. Farming tickets for bronze rolls seems to yield about the same amount of standard recipes as running Unais council map. However, that is just my personal impression.
The AE is a wonderful alternative leveling option. I do wish the search engine was better. However, the creativity of many of these missions combined with easy access to inspirations, lack of travel, hospital on site, and the gambling high of rolling tickets have renewed my interest in many of my under 30 characters and even inspired me to roll quite a few new ones. -
Quote:In the Janet Kellum arc you encounter a nasty one (murder on my spines/fa. . . literally).
Personally, I think the Vahzilok's Disease arc is a great experience and shows players, things can happen to you (Although, besides the Hamidon Lightning thing... what else is there?).
Crey narcotic Auto, Self -Recovery, -Speed, -Recharge
The Crey scientists have injected you with a narcotic that slows your movement speed, attack speed, and endurance recovery! After completing your mission, you should seek help from your contact. If you cannot reach your contact, the effect should wear off. -

I am really enjoying this selection PW. Thank you for organizing them into level ranges.
In fact, I've rolled several new characters because I'm having so much fun with the level 1-20 game again. -
Perma PA should be your first priority.

On an ITF yesterday, half the team zoning in ended up being stuck, the other half didn't. It's inconsistant, but the issue is still there.

Quote:How do the knockback enhancements work then? Aren't they adding knockback mag?As for why it wouldn't work... There doesn't exist "negative" enhancement and there doesn't exist "additive" magnitude. Domination simply acts as a flag that causes a power to use a second mez magnitude. Procs are like a secondary effect that is added on--you don't actually change the existing effect, there just is another one applied. And again, there doesn't exist active "subtractive" magnitude (reactive in protection but anyway).

When they are no longer fun and I can't think of anything that would make them fun again.
I'm not sure I can delete anything over 40, but I can permanently park it. -
Now I understand. Thank you for the explanation, I forgot about the +res rule and the fact that it is like Reconstruction. I found the discussion in the issues thread.

Quote:heh... there's an idea I could get behind. Fine.. change ALL kBack to kDown so that you can only get kBack again by slotting for it.
But then add extra damage from kBack like you got in the original Champions PnP game. Knock someone into a wall 3 feet behind them? HUGE extra damage. No wall at all? Just a little extra from road burn.
This, of course, will never happen, just as shockwave being changed to kDown will never happen, but it amused me enough to type it out.
The thing is, KD can easily be turned into KB with one single slot. And I've had the great pleasure of teaming with people that do that, including Dragon's Tail.
So, it would be nice if they created an IO that reduced the mag instead of increased it. This also puts the burdon on people that don't want knockback to sacrafice recharge or damage, etc. Of course, as I've said in other threads, I believe it would make some sets overpowered. That belief though does show my bias. (I still wouldn't slot it in Bonfire, even though it would make bonfire soooooo overpowered. Ping pong on my fire/storm is just too much fun). -
Do you have a link to the thread where this was discussed?
One of the reasons I picked it on my empth was for power boosted fort based upon the power description:
powerboost -
Quote:I can respect that. I was having a blast last night playing mob ping-pong with my hurricane and bonfire. Bonfire is another power that is often "skipped."You should come team with me then, i took HandClap willingly, without needing it for concept. It's a great situational power and the few times i use it, i'm extremely glad i still have it. ( And it only cost me one more slot on it to have full effectiveness from it.)
This thread is another example of why the -knockback IO would be wonderful. That way, those that want to turn it into KD would be the players sacraficing the slot. -
Quote:Martial arts does not have an AoE knockback power, just a single target.Sets like SS (hand clap), ELM (lightning clap) and Martial Arts all have a KB power in the set that helps provide mitigation for the secondary.
I can't think of a single time I've teamed with someone that rolls anything other than concept characters that has taken hand clap or lightning clap. -
Im about ready to hit 41 on my Cold/Arch defender. I was planning on going power mastery. However, a friend of mine thought there was an issue with power boost not buffing the defense in cold shields.
I havent turned up anything in my searches but I figured it wouldnt hurt to ask.
Thank you. -
On another (closed) forum, you have buttons you can click (love) (educational), etc.
(Disagree) gets people in such a tizzy that some of us call it "buttonwank" now.
The fact that I'm going to spend next weekend drinking with a group of us that "rubberneck" the forum dramas probably reflects how much I care about neg rep or what people on the internet think about me. -
My cheaply IO'd dm/fa/mu brute is currently running 0/8. Now that I hit 47 and have burn + fences, I'm considering slowly bumping it up.
Unless I'm running my patron arcs. The "stop the ritual' mission has kicked her butt. I can deal with the Mu indoor, but that mission with it's lag and the flying, and . . .
I had hoped to get her to 50 without a debt badge. She now has Punch Drunk. -
This thread had me reflecting on why Khelds will probably be my last in my quest for “one of each AT to 50.”
Back when I was working on my first 50 I wouldn’t wait to get a kheld. I tend be drawn to the AT crossing powersets (tanks that sacrifice survivability for damage, blasters heavy on controls, Offenders), so khelds seemed perfect for me.
My problem is with my abilities controlling the character. I started playing right after I-6 launched so I’ve never dealt with unsupressed fly. I really, really have issues controlling myself in Nova form. There were quite a few times I aggro’d a spawn from the floor above flying around like an idiot trying to position my cones . Or the times I flew into the next mob, etc. I also have issues switching between the forms and not causing myself problems, even with the macros.
I know that I don’t need to change forms, but I also agree that I wouldn’t be playing to my potential if I did. -
What did they say in their complaint?
For the life of me, I can't even think of a time that my stone tank, even before movement bonuses would still not welcome these two powers.
EDIT - Is there any chance the mobs were green or blue to you? Knockdown can turn into knockback if the enemies con below you, just as some of the knockback powers with lower magnitude can turn into knockdown if the enemies are higher than your level. -
Quote:My friend hit 50 on a Posi Task Force last DXP Monday.
I then challenged him to get someone from 10 to 50 ONLY on the Posi Task Force.
Am I evil?
We had someone ding 50 on a Posi, but I didn't consider this.
Dang-it, I know what my next solo to 50 project is going to be. Actually, wouldn't be that bad with the +5 exemp changes. -
Quote:Exactly.P.S. I don't hate kb. I encourage my team mates to use it when I play my tanker as a leader, and I don't mind people tornado and hurricane everything everywhere either. In fact, I like the mess, and I love kb when used appropriately. I just play according to what the team likes. My suggestion simply provides a choice, so as the suggestion of the OP. Providing a choice by itself doesn't have any bias toward kb or kd. In fact, not providing a choice creates the bias.
My first character, who was also my first 50, is a storm. I understand the power of knockback, whether good or bad.
I am asking for the ability to customize my characters. I have powers that I would rather knockdown than knockback. Personally, I think that would make some of them overpowered, but to admit that is to admit that knockback is not always wanted. To state that knockback is not an issue and then state that the enhancement should not be created because teams will force players to slot one is very contradictory.
Quote:They do not fly in every direction, they fly in exactly one direction.........away from the caster.
Nova flies them in every direction, if you are in the center of them...........which you don't necessarily need them to be. Then again, that power is designed to be a killing blow, and you simply need to learn to time that right.
Statements like these are why KB is hated...........you don't understand it. Most persecution works that way.
Comical thread is comical.
I don't hate knockback. My favorite character at this moment is that energy/pain corruptor. I will admit that I think most people use knockback powers very poorly all the while talking about how well they do play them. Still, as it's been said in this thread, I don't complain about it. It's just a game.
