  1. Grats! I concur on the fun factor of Titan Weapons, I have a new tank I've been fiddling with and he's just funtastic on teams. He puts new meaning to 'Bowling For Council'.

Meanwhile, I finally got a dom past 10 and she's turning out to be pretty special too.

All of this is a hypothetical, of course, but it would really add flavor to BOTH sides of the game. Everyone wins.
More decidedly heroic / villainous content? I like it. Consider me signed to your newsletter.

    Arepeeees? :3

If I had caught this before last night...

The next time I catch you on I'll bring over one of my non-HF alts, I have a couple heroes / rogues that I think she could have some fun with.
  4. If we go with bootlegs and live video performances too:

    Rammstein - Pet Sematary
David Bowie & David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb
The Blues Brothers - Soul Man
They Might Be Giants - Why Does The Sun Shine?
Luciano Pavarotti & Brian May - Too Much Love Will Kill You

OK, I'm totally coming now. But only if I can get everyone to join me in singing Don't Stop Believin'.

DiB functions as a continuation, helping folks level, etc. Easy to get burnt out on the sewer trial. Zwill plays about up to 15. Others play it up to 22, where you can get SOs.
I only go through 4 trials myself to get all the buffs. By that point I'm at 14 and teaming can get me to 22 in little time. Heck, I got something like four/five levels just by doing both halves of Posi.

You never realize just how easy it is to get away with lacking documentation, up until you actually start dealing with developers who have no clue how to document. I can sympathize.
  6. I've become smitten with my Elec/TW, enough so to put some thought into his own final build. My own goals were 32.5 SLEN, recharge to ride Energize and Power Sink, able to handle +4s, able to exemp down when needed, and also obviously be able to tank. This is what I came up with:

Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.953

    Level 1: Momentum

I'm still iffy on Alphas, since Spiritual, Muscular, Agility, and Resilient all would make a good fit. I'm also hedging on whether the Leadership pool was a good way to go, but Tactics was pretty much neccessary to get his To Hit up as he lacked accuracy.
  7. Every alt comes with a concept, I can't roll a new one here without one. Character creation is just one big character sheet and set of crayons, I can't help using them!

As for my favorite concepts, well...

Second runner-up is Six Alarm. She was an angel who didn't Fall or Saunter Vaguely Downward as much as she Jumped Going Wheeeeeee All The Way. Now she's the Minor Demon Of Children With Matches, stuck in Paragon City after a turf fight with the Oranbegans went horribly wrong. Not that she's too unhappy, what with the target-rich environment of the Rogue Isles.

First runner-up would have to be Death Wish Upon A Star, the Fairy Cop on the Edge. Formerly a detective with the Anaheim PD, now she's a strange fairy in a stranger world courtesy of the Portal Corporation. At least they have the right ammo for her favorite assault rifle here.

But the winner has to be the one and only Flamethrower Ferret. A pet store ferret mutated into a flame-wielding superhero - or at least that's the history he was programmed with. In reality, he's an amusement park's attempt to cash in on a wildly successful cartoon superhero show via the power of animatronics. Only he gained full sentience. Now he's Paragon City's foremost G-rated superhero!
  8. I've found it hard to use any other melee set beyond Claws these days. I really wanted to get into Titan Weapons and tanking too, but its just too fun being the Ronco Villain/Hero-O-Matic.
  9. Rain of Fire! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

.... ... ... What're you giving me that look for?
  10. Having played other games, I'll stick with CoH designs just fine. No silly putty bodies or Uncanny Valley here.

And I still have yet to find a male hair choice anywhere that beats Barbaric or Long. (Yes, I am balding, shut up. :P )

If someone ask me when I write for an AE arc, I just reply that I work on an AE arc, describe it briefly and suggest that we can team later.

In addition, I set the lfg flag properly, and describe my current gaming preference in my team search field, ie "Prefer TF, SFAE or Trials", "anything goes", "working on AE arc", "tip missions, feel free to join", "solo atm" etc.

This have worked fine to me all the time.
That's what I do as well. I respond to tells with 'Sorry, but I'm <insert whatever else I'm up to here>, but thanks for the invite!' I also make sure to thank them for the invite, it pays to be polite.

(Unless its blind invites, in that case I just click 'No'. If they can't be bothered to /tell first then, well, I'll send my answer back the same way.)
  12. In episode 5? Already!?

(He'll be back by episode 7.)

Basically: (firy embrace when I get it) DS, attack, attack, attack, [BM or secondary power as appropriate/needed], continue to attack any survivors (LOL), A TON OF DEAD STUFF, repeat.
That's what I'm thinking for my FA/TW. Consume, Burn, FE, BM, all fire before I start swinging. Burn, HF, and Consume can fire when I don't see FT highlighted. Repeat for next mob. I don't think it'll be too much of a headache, and I get all the AOE.
  14. I have my FA/TW tank now. She's a beautiful thing, for a seven foot six burning demon with skull shoulderpads and a giant honking sword glowing ominous runes. But when momentum kicks in? Awwwwww yeahhhhhhh.

I'm leaning towards making the second one a weekly heroic staple. You run it at 30 instead of 20, its not that long, there's more smashing and no running away, and the boss fight shouldn't be too hard if I remember to bring along some purps for the final showdown.

And its straight-up heroic and I really like Numina's closeup and, well really, who doesn't like smashing up hooded cultists?
  16. Re-rolling an old FM/FA demon I grew disinterested in into a FA/TW when I get home tonight. Burn + Burning Aura + Fiery Embrace + all those AoEs + the Rune Sword? It'll be glorious.
  17. So I'm supposed to be upset at minor forum problems having their fixes put off because Paragon and NCSoft share server resources?

  19. My first will be re-working a FM/FA brute I exiled to Exalted into a FA/TW tank. EVERYTHING DIES EXCEPT FOR ME, MWAHAHAHAHA.
  20. Claws. Pair it with a damage aura brute and hordes die very very quickly. Or not even with a damage aura brute and hordes still die pretty goshdarn fast. The whole set moves fast, like Dual Blades but with better damage and none of that fiddly combo stuff.

And weapons customization gives you a good array of concepts, whether you want to make Teenage Science Brute Cat or Tony Stark With Blades.

Tried that. Pretty much killed any drive I had for the character that way. Not entirely recommended if you have any investment in that character's personality.
  25. I'm not entirely sure why this process hasn't been automated, or if it is automated what sort of demonic monstrosity of a cron job is running it. Not that I'm all 'gimmegimmegimme' on my points, but it would be nice to have it at least on a consistent basis, just in case.
