Thanks to an idea presented by Straenge, I am doing a Top 5 segement every week. There is a catch though. One week it is my pick, and then the rest of the month I want other peoples top 5 for the same topic. What I am doing is starting a thread over on The Cape forums but I will check the monthly thread here also. Just post your Top 5 songs.

This Month's theme is Live Tracks

This should be fun and I guess I am going to have to put down the 5 greatest live acts that I will probably never see live in my lifetime, unfortunately. But hearing their live albums is the next best thing.

1. Tom Waits - Rain Dogs (Live)

2. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - The Mercy Seat (Live 2001)

3. And One - Technoman (Live)

4. Leonard Cohen - I'm Your Man (Live)

5. Peter Murphy - Cuts you up (Live)

2. Cheap Trick - "I Want You to Want Me" (Cheap Trick at Budokan)
3. Jimi Hendrix - "The Star-Spangled Banner" (Woodstock)
4. Johnny Cash - "Folsom Prison Blues" (Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison)

It seems a couple of us think alike. In no particular order:

  • KISS - "Rock and Roll All Nite" (Alive)
  • Peter Frampton - "Do You Feel Like We Do" (Frampton Comes Alive)
  • Cheap Trick - "I Want You To Want Me" (At Budokon)
  • The Who - "My Generation" (Live at Leeds)
  • Jimi Hendrix - "The Star Spangled Banner" (Woodstock)

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

There are some fine examples of win here. I'mma add some others I'm aware of just for variety.

"Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" - George Michael with Elton John.
"Clocks" - Coldplay, LeftRightLeftRightLeft
"Robot Rock/Oh Yeah" - Daft Punk, Alive

Just about anything from Queen. Queen rocks. Say from Queen on Fire, Live at The Bowl, or Live from Wembley? I'd take Flash, Fat Bottomed Girls, Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Who Wants to Live Forever... really, any of 'em.

And finally, just to be me (i.e., slightly off center, as if the first three aren't enough):
"Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" - Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band

/You know Bruce and co. rocked Christmas.
//Would mention "D*ck in a Box" - Justin Timberlake at Madison Square Garden, but it's not an official Live release...

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012

Hmmm.. Some really good Lists here. I'm gonna have a tough choice between here and The Cape forums for this weeks show.

I do try to put the set about midway through the show itself.

While I'm far from my music at the moment, I'll just put out the entire farewell album by Oingo Boingo, but mostly Insanity, We colse our eyes, and No One Lives Forever.

All depends on what stuff I have, and what stuff I can get, but I won't count anything out until I try to get it.
