    Duo Lambda

You two deserve a badge for that.

    "I win"

"You just duoed the Lambda trial. You obviously cheated... which means you're my kind of guy! Have a cookie!"

Heh, just kidding. Congratz on the epic moment of win!
  2. I'm going to assume it's random. The very first B.A.F I ran I died more times than I could count. I was down for a lot of it, yet I got the Rare table. The last two B.A.F runs I did, I didn't die nearly as often and contributed as much as everyone else, but I got the common table. I'm pretty sure contribution doesn't play a factor in it. =P
  3. I'mma bring my Tanker, Smash Zone, to the party. Need a couple more shards and I can get my Very Rare Alpha slot! (w00t!)

    Smash Zone: Inv/EnM Tanker.

Well gee, maybe if you read that wonderful announcement that they posted beforehand, you would realize that Issue 20 is being published today. Y'know, that big "Live Server Publish - Tuesday!" article on the front page on the website? I'm pretty sure you're supposed to read those before complaining about server downtime. Just saying.
  5. I honestly have to ask you graystar... why do you still play this game? Every post you make is just you whining about something different. If the game and it's developers are just so awful, why don't you just do us all a favor? Stop whining, unsubscribe, and go play something else.

    Thank you.

Yep, I broke his other hand.
The real kicker in that mission is, after you break his other hand he says

"AHH! I told you what you wanted! Why'd you break my other hand?!"

    and you say something like

"I wanted to see if you could talk like a normal person. Imagine that, you can."

    I am so evil. xD

(Just as a reference, the mission is Warrant's "Stop Novahold Raid" in which you have to interrogate a Resistance member.)
  7. My first decree as King of Paragon Studios would be to do something with the Shadow Shard. I don't care what, just DO SOMETHING!

The Shadow Shard is one of the most interesting zones in the whole game. The lore behind it is easily the best out of it all, and the landscape is incredible. Yet, none of it is used. Yay, we get some boring repeatable contacts, and some Task Forces which hardly explain anything. The new exploration badges are big fat teasers of what SHOULD be done with the zones. Seriously, go read those. How much Rularuu can twist your very mind just by being in his realm. Give us some cool new Missions and Task Forces, send us into wonderland with some trippy story lines that make us question our grip on reality. That's what the zone should be about.

How about letting us battle/interact with the OTHER reflections of Rularuu? Currently, all we have is Faathim the Kind, Lanaruu the Mad, and Ruladak the Strong. I want to fight Uuralur the Mirror in his Garden of Memories. Oh the cool things you could do with that premise. Give us a shot at Chularn the Slave Lord, or Kuularth the Scavanger.

Pretty much, if I were king for the whole day, that entire 24-hour period would be spent towards expanding the Shadow Shard. Oh, and opening it up to villains, with some unique villainous story lines to go with it. :P
  8. I think it should be done the way the two Tip contacts are (Redemption and Pit).

Have two contacts for villains/rogues and heroes/vigilantes. Just call 'em Longbow and Arachnos security chiefs. Contact them to be told the current WST, but make it fit into the lore somehow. Something like,

"There's been a spike in Clockwork activity lately. Synapse has requested the assistance of any heroes who would be willing to help investigate."

    or

"Our Fortunatas have detected a large increase in the psychic presence in St. Martial. You would be wise to consult Ice Mistral in this matter."

Just something short and simple to say "Task Force X is the weekly strike target."
  9. I always love it when I can get one of those "obvious" or "cool" names that you would think were already taken.

Some cool names I've managed to snatch:

    Andronic
    Lethal Trauma
    Solemn Shadow
    Deadly Dispatch
    Terror Strike
    Amplified Assassin

There are more, but I can't access my characters at this time and I honestly have so many I forgot a lot of names. xD
  10. The ones I can think of from the top of my head are Energy Melee, Energy Aura, and Gravity Control.

The two Energy sets I have on two separate toons, both level 50. Honestly, I don't get the hate. I mean, yeah, compared to the "uber" sets they're not as good, but they are still totally viable options. Sure, my Energy Melee Tanker would love more AoE, but he still kicks butt and is a blast to play. And while my Energy Aura Stalker could definitely use some more survivability options, he's still one of my favorite characters.
  11. I'm going to say Stalker. Mainly because of that lovely demoralize debuff that comes with every Assassin Strike. High burst damage makes bosses go down a lot quicker. Sure, Scrappers can duke it out with the best of them, but I just find Stalkers a bit more beneficial. While they do deal slightly less damage, the addition of the burst damage and demoralization makes them worth it.

But of course, this is assuming some retarded notion of being forced to choose between the two. I take whoever asks first.
  12. Normally I'd go ahead a show all the reasons why it's not a good idea at all, but there have been so many threads on this particular subject that you would know if you searched it up.

So I'm just going to say no.
  13. Just a reminder that this is happening tonight. If you haven't left me your global, than either do so today or just contact me in-game. We're meeting up at the Atlas Park Sewers entrance.

  15. If you're okay with exemping down then it's fine with me.
  16. So, last double Xp weekend I had this idea. To get a team, starting at level one, and just street sweep through as many Hazard Zones as possible through the night. Unfortunately, I was so busy that I couldn't do such a thing.

But I'm not busy this weekend, so I can do it now!

Dust off your old lowbies collecting dust, or start a brand new character from scratch. We'll start in the Atlas Park Sewers, and see where things go from there. Here's the order of zones we're going to visit.

    Levels 1-7: Atlas Park Sewers.
    Levels 7-12: Perez Park.
    Levels 12-19: Boomtown.
    Levels 19-29: Dark Astoria.
    Levels 29-39: Crey's Folly.

Now, I know that aiming for level 39 is a single night may be a pipe dream, but it's just the general layout. Who knows? We might even make it to Firebase Zulu!

    So, here are the details.

When: Friday, January 28th. 9:30 PM Eastern/8:30 PM Central.
Where: Atlas Park, near the sewer entrance.
    Team Roster:
    1.
    Gallant Gauntlet, SD/WM Tanker (Smash_Zone).
    2. Master-Blade (Toon TBA).
    3. Turgenev (Toon TBA).
    4. Paragon's War, Warshade (Paragon).
    5. Pyradical, Fire/Rad Corruptor (Auroxis).
    6. Rina_ (Toon TBA).
    7.
    8.

    Alts: Lucky666 (Toon TBA)

If you're going to bring a pre-existing character, then just let me know name and AT. If you are going to create a new character, then just leave your global handle so I can know how to contact you once the event has started. If you need to contact me, my global is @Smash-Zone. (Please note that my global is @Smash-Zone with a dash. It is different from my forum handle, Smash_Zone, with an underscore.)

    Hope to see you there!

    Beasties

To put it simple and blunt, no. Simply because the time it would take to create a new skeleton for all of those new animals and working animations for all of their movements and powers would be astronomical, and would probably end up looking stupid.

Besides, how would you fit Bears, raptors, gators and whatnot into the large metropolis of Paragon City?
  18. You know you play too much City of Heroes when you play any other game, like an FPS, miss nearly 90% of the time and say to yourself "I should slot this gun with some accuracy enhancements..."
  19. Just a quick explanation on how to actually get to Ouroboros.

First, you need to be level 25. Second, you must have participated in some form of time travel. For example, if you run the villain arc "Echo down the Aeons" from Marshal Brass, you will unlock the Ouroboros portal. Similarly, Heroes can run "A Faultline in the Sands of Time" from Agent G to get it. It's also tied to certain badges, most notably badges from Recluses Victory.

Alternatively, if you're level 25 and you missed both of those arcs and don't feel like going to Recluse's Victory, you can ask someone to drop an Ouroboros portal for you. There's an Exploration Badge in the Ouroboros zone that unlocks the portal for you.

It's not a penalization if you weren't there to earn the badge. It's part of the badging game. Sometimes, you miss it.

Sorry, but I'd vote to remove those candy cane awarded badges too. I DO think that badges meant for a login at a given time should remain that way, instead of being bought later on.
No, veteran badges are different. Yes, they are based on real time, I know that. But the thing is, as long as the game doesn't die, I am guaranteed to get those veteran badges eventually, as long as I stay subscribed. Does it take forever? Sure, but I still have the opportunity to earn those badges.

Anniversary badges are different. If you didn't make it, sucks for you. Those badges might as well not even exist for me and others who didn't make it. But they do. For the elitist badge-hunters who arrived later than others, they have to face the awful truth that the players who got here first are the only ones who will ever be able to get all the badges in the game.

The "requirement" is 'get candy canes and buy it'.
That's the new requirement. Before 2007, the requirement was "Log on during the 2005 Winter Event."

Really, I don't see how making them purchasable hurts anybody. Since Hero/Villain merits are relatively harder to earn than most rewards, players can still have the sense of "earning" those badges, since they had to do X amount of morality missions to get it.

UNLIKE the anniversary badges which actually have a NUMBER right on the badge.
Although the badge may not specifically state so, the requirements are right there on Paragonwiki.

Longbow Reservist: This badge was awarded to all heroes logging in during the Winter Event 2005.

Now, you can just buy the badge, which makes it completely worthless.

Cold Front: This badge was awarded for logging in during the Winter Event 2006.

Again, this badge was made purchasable. There's no point to it.

Either change the badge to something else like a special title, or just make it purchasable. Being penalized as a badge-collector because I didn't "BUY THE GAME RIGHT NAO" when it came out is totally unfair.
  22. I was this close to actually falling out of my chair from laughter. xD

Amazing, Steelclaw. I would expect no less from you.
  23. Hoping for the best. Welcome to the madhouse that is known as the "forums" Second Measure.

We promise to be good... most of the time.
  24. I just recently hit level 50 (finally) on my main Tanker, so I has a happy!
