WST should be announced in game

Whatever the current WST should be available somewhere in game. I suggest one of the following methods...

-Message of the Day! That popup that sometimes happens when you log in? Have one every tuesday saying what the new WST is.

-Add to your contacts tab the WST contact if you're high enough level to use that contact, and have unlocked them for the TFs where that's necesarry.

-Put someone in Ouroboros that explains WSTs and tells players which the weekly WST is

Plenty of implementation options, and it doesn't have to be special, it just has to be /there./

I agree, but I think it would work best as a contact, ala the newspaper. The MOTD has a habit of popping up in the middle of combat or travel.

I agree too, it should be on the GMOTD. Alternately, your suggestion of adding a WST contact or having it appear on your contacts list would be just as good. Great suggestion!

I would be ok with the MOTD as long as it pops up and goes away.

Or just keep a link in the updater.

Maybe a simple /wst command would be enough.

I agree but keep in mind the WST is for more than just the 50 level crowd looking for Notice of the Day.. Any TF can be picked including Posi One or Two so a contact in Ouro is hardly fair to anyone from level 10 -24 that can't get there but could be on a Posi One, Posi Two, Synapse or Sister Psyche (this week's WST) or the Tarikoss and Silver Mantis SF (Mantis being this weeks's Villain side WST as well). Your idea for a WST contact on your contact tab is good.. sort of like a radio/newspaper contact that we can access to find out what the TF is this week and see what is coming up over the next month.

Another possible solution would be a contact (NPC) stationed in the Crucible (Red Side) and FT Trident (Blue Side) with the same info. OR .... Just add a tab to all of the current TF contacts so that anyone in ANY zone that has a TF contact can simply click on that contact and pull up the WST. The idea of a MOTD isn't bad but as mentioned can be annoying depending on when it pops up and it could even be missed entirely. They need to find some solution though at the moment on Virtue the TF global channel is listing the WST for the month. That's great but only about 750 players belong plus that means someone on the channle is coming here to the forums, finding out what the WST is and then posting it on line for our membership. Like I said very nice but realistically that person is doing someone's job that WORKS for NC SOFT and gets PAID to do that sort of thing. Yeah we all know everyone is busy working on issue 20 but let's finish up the job on 19/19.5 first

Want to know what the current WST is on your Vigilante/Rogue? Well too bad! Maybe you should commit to an actual side, then maybe we'll tell you.

Gating knowledge of content based on alignment is a terrible idea. MOTD would be good, except it's not 100% reliable in popping up when it should (99%, maybe). A contact in Atlas and a contact in Cap would do it; they're both the zone hubs for their respective alignments, and you don't need to worry about baby villains wading through a zone full of purples since they can't do their first SF until level 15 anyway.

Those are all great ideas.

Perhaps the Newsies that are by the Trams Blueside could be used to give the info as well; just stick a couple of Newsies by the Ferries Redside to also provide the info.

I think it should be done the way the two Tip contacts are (Redemption and Pit).

Have two contacts for villains/rogues and heroes/vigilantes. Just call 'em Longbow and Arachnos security chiefs. Contact them to be told the current WST, but make it fit into the lore somehow. Something like,

"There's been a spike in Clockwork activity lately. Synapse has requested the assistance of any heroes who would be willing to help investigate."

or

"Our Fortunatas have detected a large increase in the psychic presence in St. Martial. You would be wise to consult Ice Mistral in this matter."

Just something short and simple to say "Task Force X is the weekly strike target."

Okay DarkGob sorry until your post I had NO idea Vigilantes could not get into Ft Trident. I actually logged one of my VIG on and now I have another suggestion.. Since A vigilante is still considered a HERO and a Rogue still a VILLAIN just why exactly can't they get into the Ft Trident and the Crucible? Of course they can't go there and BUY things with A Merits.. they 't earn any but duplicate contacts for every TF , okay most not every, in the game are there and last I checked heroes, viglilantes and rogues could do Posi 1, Posi 2, Synapse, Citadel, Manticore and Numina. Ah well until THAT changes... IF ever.. Let's go with the extra tab on the contact like the one we have now for Tip Missions.. or your idea for a NPC contact in Atlas and Cap so any level character can get there in one piece which is why I thought Ft T and the Crucible would be perfect to begin with. /em rolls eyes "I can NOT believe my Vigilantes can't get into Ft Trident. DUMB, DUMB DUMB!

Because access to Fort Trident/the Crucible is the perk of being straight Hero/Villain, kinda like Rogue Isles/Paragon City access is the perk of being Vigilante/Rogue.

And you think staying a straight Hero or Villain has NO other perks besides access to Fort Trident or the Crucible?

How about actually being able use your Ouro portal to rapidly transport from one zone to another on Task Forces... Rogues get to haul out the calculator and start figuring the fastest route while on a Blue side TF and same thing for Vigilantes on some Red side SFs.

Heroes and Villains that do tip missions earn A merits that can be accumulated and used to purchase purple recipes. No matter how many Reward merits a Rogue or Vigilante acquire the only methods they have of acquiring purples is through Drops during missions or purchasing them at the Markets.

Better access to inspirations. A Hero or Villain can go to any of their old or current contacts and buy whatever they like in any zone. If I am playing a Rogue in Paragon City even the few contacts I have earned from doing Radio missions won't talk to me and I either have to head to Pocket D, the RWZ, Cimerora (If I have opened up a contact there), or head back to the RED side or my base for INSPs. or find the hospital and the combat nurse.

As I mentioned you find a bunch of duplicate contacts for Task Forces in FT Trident .. TFS that a Rogue or Vigilante can join BUT a Vigilante (still considered a hero) can't get inside? So if they end up having to go to the zone where the original contact is to run that Task Force anyway.. why even bother putting those contacts in Ft Trident? Cause it looks cool? LOL

Every time this comes up, I feel obligated to remind people of the Info Kiosks. Seriously, folks, these things have been completely useless since day one of the game. Aren't they the perfect place to put that sort of info?

And, yes, CoV-side does have Info Kiosks, albeit broken ones, and I'm sure Arachnos computers can be reappropriated for this purpose. As for Praetoria... Well, I'm not sure there's any real reason to have that info there as of yet, since there are no TFs to do on that side.

I used info kiosks when they worked (been broken at least year now or longer). Thumbs up for fixing info kiosks and add lot more use of them.
