Perhaps, though the game doesn't exactly give the league leader that many tools to figure that sort of thing out, beyond shouting at a fractious mob of players and hoping for honest responses. "Get Info" provides little useful information about Incarnate abilities, and that's buried in the badges tab.

Ok, I have no problem for getting badges for playing the game with additional challenge, but do we need one for playing the game like an imbecile, and surviving in spite of that? Pavlov weeps.

Honestly, they should have made "Helpers" purple, and "needs help" greyish white.
  5. Higher contrast and larger cursor option in Options. Or scale it to screen size. At 1024x768, the current size is ok, but at 1600x900 and up? I can't find the bloody thing to click a spot on the floor, especially if there's a burn patch, freezing rain, and static field all going on at the same time.
  6. My assumption is that, just as we have a segment of the population that refuses to use the invention system ("All builds should be equal, your play style is all that matters"), or the consignment house ("marketeering is what destroys a game, every time"), there is a group that refuses to craft ("I don't have the time or inclination to figure out what all this crap does"). Fortunately, they spend that extra tim farming, and have solid cash reserves to buy overpriced crafted IOs.
  7. Thanks! That will do it, though Invisibility Mastery is less thematic than Psionic, it at least isn't _counter_ concept. Though if I'm hiking off to the Rogue isles, I may as well pick up Scorpion Shield. Or ignore it, and grab Recall Friend. Get some *use* out of all that invisibility...
  8. After 3 and a half years of this game, I've finally found a Dominator combo that I enjoy playing (though that may be due to the static group I play with than the archetype). What I'm, trying to do, at this point, is put together a no-hasten perma-dom build _without_ purple sets. (I have a cash reserve, but I'm not stupidly rich). I am assuming that by the time I hit 50, I'll have enough A-Merits to pick up the LotGs I need. Everything else on this build I can get by being patient with the market, and judicious reward merit expenditures from my Incarnates (_They_ certainly aren't using them!) Any suggestions?

    Caveats:
    1) Concept calls for Hover and Fly. Dropping these will hurt the fun factor of the character. Besides, I'm not Veteran enough to jump straight to Fly.
    2) I know Voltaic Sentinel is largely useless, but it is a decent bonus in only 4 slots. Plus I like minions.
    3) I'm not dead set on Psionic Mastery, but Ice and Leviathan don't particularly go with concept either.
    4) If it isn't possible, any non-overboard suggestions for survivability? Not looking to soft-cap anything, but getting something helpful into the 20-25% range (Ranged, S/L) would be handy. At this point I'd need what, 60-ish percent global recharge?
    5) Currently 35th level, Blueside (An Ex-Praetorian). Not every enhancement will be lvl50, but I hit something in MIDS.

    Thanks in advance!

A highly annoying state of affairs. I find the Arcane teleporters to be much more aesthetically appealing, and the Tech beacons to be a heck of a lot easier to interpret when scampering through the base at speed.

"Launcher"? Sorry, most of the folks I know personally that play this game use the desktop shortcuts they set up right after the launcher came out, to help minimize the time it takes to restart the game after a crash.

    Just saying.
  11. My subjective experience comes close to matching the original poster as well. Two toons, both fairly close to finished with the whole iXP thing.

Stone Melee/Willpower brute: Five rares, one Ultra-rare. Frequently tanks Siege and marauder when needed. Primary defense? Out-regenerate damage taken. And takes a lot of damage.

Mind/Storm Defender: Zero Rares, one Ultra-Rare. (Spent that BAF standing directly between Siege and Nightstar with Hurricane up). Primary defense: bad guys flopping on their butts, and not shooting at her, followed by not getting hit. What damage she takes more or less sends her to the hospital, so isn't sustained.

That's on a TF. If you have three friends and _don't_ have two solid hours (on a bad run) of overlapping game time, you're doing regular content. Paper/radio missions, Tips, or contacts. And for that, I find 1 shard every 2 hours to be rather realistic, and occasionally optimistic.

  15. Option four. Lambda is already too much of an unfun pain-in-the-**** (and thats playing toons WITH stealth abilities!), that deliberately gimping myself and my team by going for the badges is pretty much a deal breaker.

Northern Brickstown, there's a little park-like raised area, basicly a concrete planter the size of an intersection. Couple trees, large rockpile, wooden "CAUTION: DO NOT ENTER" door. Leads to Oranbega, Council bases, 5th Column bases, and the wedding cake cave.

Note there's a parking lot directly below it.

As for the wacky building and warehouse layouts we see, the answer is simple: after the first Rikti War, all construction was required to be underground. Those buildings you see? Decoys, to distract the bombers. My proof? Visit the Council HQ in the RWZ. You'll see.

Of course it doesn't think Lord Nemesis is a suitable vessel. The Well knows for certain that there is a huge, steam-punk Cosmic Energy Conversion Trap (CECT) off in the back corner of the Shadow Shard with it's name on it.

Doesn't really have to. We don't have any serious proof it stops anything except civilians from leaving the city. (Actually civvies walk through it just fine. It only stops us metahumans.) If Cole goes down, I expect Praetorian Hamidon to erupt our of whatever hole it has been kept in, and roll over the city like an urban remake of Destroy All Monsters.

If I had to guess, I would say the Well wants a "walkin' around" body that can contain it's entire being. Now why the well would want this now is a mystery, but seeing as how we have had some "issues" with Rularuu lately, I would imagine the Well may sense a threat that Rularuu may reconstitute it's fragmented psyche and start consuming all of reality again.
Nah, the Well wants a corporeal bod so it can get laid. 'Nuff said.

  24. I'll put my vote in for "tired of the Praetorian focus". The location is very pretty, the individual stories, many of them are well written... the overall sagea, IMHO, is being overdone. Praetoria *IS* wacky Goatee land, the Mirrorverse. It does not require or deserve any more depth of focus beyond that (it saddens me that this level of storytelling isn't being applied to the main environment in the lvl 1-44 range beyond Praetoria tie-ins). And when the whole thing devolved into a Frank Herbert-esqe festival of plots-within-plots, secrets-within-secrets, I lost interest. Seriously, the Ghouls and the Destroyers are revealed as artificial threats to keep the populace in line. The Hamidon is firmly placed as Cole's own muppet in his official bio. Would *ANYONE* be seriously surprised if it were revealed that the man pulling Clavin Scott's strings from the background was in fact, Tyrant?

I wouldn't, and it saddens me that I can think that way. This is supposed to be a superheroes game, not Ghost In The Shell. I look forward to the Issue when the threat is an actual menacing threat from beyond, and not some dystopic conspiracy-laden alternate version of ourselves.

Because that reminds me far too much of the real world we all have to live in.
