Keyes Island badges

Keyes Technician - You have completed the Incarnate Trial: Keyes Island Reactor.

Master of Keyes Island Trial - Complete the following badges:

  • Anti-Anti Matter * -
    • Pre-beta: Complete Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial after having brought Anti-Matter below 10% of his health during one of the phases where he is still in control of the reactors.
    • Currently: Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial after having brought Anti-Matter below 10% of his health while attempting to take control of Reactor Hope, the western-most reactor.

  • Bunker Buster * -
    • Pre-beta: Bust down the doors to more than one bunker within 3 seconds of each other during the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial.
    • Currently: During the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial, bust down all three doors on a bunker within three seconds, and then repeat for all bunkers found near Reactor Infinity.

  • Loves a Challenge * -
    • Pre-beta: Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial without having anyone die or destroy any terminals in the final battle versus Anti-Matter.
    • Currently: Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial without having anyone die or destroy any terminals in the final battle versus Anti-Matter.

(Editor's note: There are reports that the French version wording is "without having anyone die AND destroy any terminals", not "without having anyone die OR destroy any terminals".)

  • Avoids the Green Stuff * -
    • Pre-beta: Don't let anyone be caught by a Devastation Beam in the final battle with Anti-Matter during the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial.
    • Currently: Don't let anyone be caught by a Obliteration Beam in the final battle with Anti-Matter during the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial.

* Guessing for Anti-Anti Matter, Bunker Buster, Loves a Challenge, and Avoids the Green Stuff based on old badge list found on Black Pebble's character.

For those in prebeta, the badges seem to have changed slightly and I've included the previous place holder text for discussion purposes.

some of those sound alright, but i could see several of them being annoying

honestly i already hate how the trial is turning out and once i have all the badges i doubt i will do it much, as ive said in the feedback thread the biggest problem i have with it is the antimatter beam if you do not have any self heals, the freezing time will also seriously be a problem if trying to go for that last badge since you cant avoid anything if you are held for 10+ sec

These sound like some challenging badges I look forward to working for them.

These badges appear (at least to me) to harken back to the "no deaths" master runs. While I do not forsee a big problem with some AT's, I can see the writing on the wall for the howls of protest about the badges, being as some of them are dependent on no deaths among 24 people, which can be quite a feat.

Bring on the badges!!!!

remember you don't have to get them all in one run. So one time no deaths and 1 run where you get anti-mater to 9% and lots and lots of deaths. and you don't need 24 only 12

Notice what the badge text says. I don't think you have to do this with no deaths.

My reading is the opposite. It looks like the badge is failed if someone dies or if someone destroys a terminal.

Having the option of two completely different ways to get it would seem very weird to me.

I read it the same way as Adeon; the badge is lost if someone dies or if a terminal is popped. And from the sound of the difficulty of this trial, that seems like a lot to toss into one badge requirement.

Except that the zero deaths will be, if not impossible, the next best thing to impossible on any PUG, especially if they also have to do defeat A-M without destroying the terminals in 12 minutes or less.

The 90% HP damage taken every 30 seconds will require an incredibly tuned team that will be at the debt cap IF the trial succeeds (I don't think most will get beyond the 2nd reactor if they attempt this).

Well not saying I'm absolutely correct or you are, but I'll put it to the test when it goes live and report my findings

Can't you just quick beat him up right before you finish saving the third reactor to get this badge?

I have to agree, this is how I read it as well.

I agree that it looks like the league must fulfill both criteria to get that badge. We'll see.

As to any difficulty with this new trial, I suspect it will stem more from being a new trial vs. not having enough slotted incarnates on the league since by now there should be many alts running around with the slots opened and at least slotted to Tier 3.

Skipped over the first post, huh? (Edit: I did NOT mean this as an insult, just a bit of friendly banter.)

The reactors are dealt with West to East, so you have to bring him down to under 10% health during the first reactor. That means the pulse is dealing 50% unresistable damage + 40% partially resistable damage every 30 seconds. Those percentages are the characters maximum health, not of their current health.

No, but apparently my eyes skipped back up and read the pre-beta info twice. But thanks for implying I'm an idiot after making a simple mistake. (Edit: Apology accepted. I probably over-reacted.)

Anyway, looks like everybody's going to be requesting that everyone slot Destiny heal for this one, much the same way everyone asks you to slot Lore Seers for MoLambda now.

Sorry, that wasn't my intention, I was just teasing you a bit.

I like a challenge as much as the next guy BUT...

Loves a Challenge * -

Pre-beta: Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial without having anyone die or destroy any terminals in the final battle versus Anti-Matter.

Currently: Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Incarnate Trial without having anyone die or destroy any terminals in the final battle versus Anti-Matter.

This particular badge is the one i was refering to that harkens back to the old master style, exclusion of AT's runs. I do agree, that unless you have a FINELY tuned league (not a PuG) this is going to be a VERY hard badge to get, and even with a good league it will be hard.

I also understand that it is still "in beta", but previous experience has shown, once it hits open, aside from a bit of tweaking here and there, it goes live "as is".

My hope for that one is that the phrase "in the final battle versus Anti-Matter" applies to both "no one die" and "destroy any terminals"

Still difficult. Still requires you to get 23 like-minded people, but maybe doable.

Having read the guide, not having played that trial yet but knowing what the IDF, Warworks et al. do, it seems to me that acquiring any of those badges will be nigh on impossible.

They hired Statesman back to design the Mo badges for the Lambda and this new trial.

All we need in the next trial is a badge for all 24 league members clicking 24 separate glowies at spread out locations, within 1 second of each other.

Or a badge for all league members clicking the green butoon to start a trial, before the clock gets to 55 seconds.

I've not even bothered with MoLambda, since I hate any badge that requires me to rely on other players to not be stupid. I've always considered the badges rewards for individual effort.

So I guess you haven't bothered with any other MO badge in existence? My blaster's basically written the old MO badges off since he's more likely to die than just about any one (Offensive juggernaut + ADD + RoTP = VERY lax attitude towards death).

The 40% Resistible damage - is it Energy Typed?

Probably have to roll a second build with Hibernoob for my Blaster.

Ok, I have no problem for getting badges for playing the game with additional challenge, but do we need one for playing the game like an imbecile, and surviving in spite of that? Pavlov weeps.

hibernate is an awful healing power for this mostly due to nophase, my ill/cold only has hibernate for heals and was dying every 3 antimatter beams even on a standard run

i personally think the antimatter beam is insane overkill and needs to be slightly reduced otherwise dying 100 times every time you want to do the trial on a toon with no reliable fast charging self heals is basically what will happen

You should try again with the Alpha level shift and the other Incarnate powers. I'd imagine a group full of constant T4 Barrier Cores, for example, would make this much easier for you.
