From the run we did last night, it appears that the obliteration beam is dodgeable in its first few seconds. The green circle appears on the ground, it starts buzzing, but the hold effect is delayed by a couple seconds - enough to combat jump out of it.

Has anyone been able to confirm if Loves a Challenge's requirements are limited to the final fight or not? Someone got Desintegrated in our run so we couldn't make sure even though we left the terminals alone.

Why aren't there nice badges for defeating 1,000 warworks, breaking 100 caches, defeating Siege 50 times, collecting 500 threads, standing in front of Marauder during his cut scene, collecting 20 acids and grenades in a single Lambda, etc? I like those kind of badges [/QUOTE]

Those actually sound like hilarious (not to mention FUN) badges to earn. Instead of getting frusterated at how seriously insane some of the Mo badges are (like having a lot of people held, not able to do anything, then getting hit with the beam that's unavoidable while you're held there), having badges as the ones you've mentioned bring fun back into the game. It's even trickier on some of the lower-populated servers due to less numbers (even then the trick is getting the few people interested in getting the badge), and probably on higher-populated servers where perhaps not everyone on the league is +3 uber-awesome.

I really hope they change the req's for these badges. They've done it before, I just hope they do it again.

I found that the freezing happens when he moves to a "terminal Spot" to regen. And the Obliteration pulse is timed..just have to time it out well is the trick.

Having run a few Keyes so far, I feel the optimum way for these "harder" badges may be a smaller size league. Its not as if AM is hard, its the co-ordiantion that is killing the chances. With a smaller league it puts everyone more on point to accomplish the task at hand, instead of running around, gives the Empaths more of a chance to keep a Disintegration target healed...etc (Also less visual things to get in the way during the final fight, so you can SEE the recticle). Will be trying this out this afternoon to see if it works out.

My compadres alway pull together for new badges. We're now making an effort to break MoKeyes down into 4 seperate nights for the sake of practice, though several of us will have to run this a few times each badge to make up for individual absences and multiple badging-tracking alts.

Tonight was the first and we successfully completed [Edit] Anti - Antimatter (badge for dropping Anti-Matter below 9% health and keeping him alive until the last phase) and the trial itself:

It was a nailbiter! We dropped Anti-matter to 9% health at the first reactor and had him clinging to *****1% health at the end of the 3rd reactor******. There were requests not to use aoe's, cones, pets, or damage auras near him but, in hindsight, that was not the problem. Between 9 & 1%, we may have just been hitting him with a roaming follow/auto-target once the last critter was defeated per mob. When running this again, we'll have the tank taunt him to the terminals only after the mob has been cleared. Also, we'll work faster to clear terminals before he reappears each phase.

Just a heads up, we did encounter two problems:

1. Due to the short notice, it took us 1 hour to assemble (alt switching, coercing good friends to fill a few empty spots , disconnects and afk's). Unfortunately, we had five dropped by the system from league -after- we began the trial. I was told that none had the rejoin league button from the LFG link. I also tried to simply retype /i, name and /li, name in vain (also tried clicking from menu after clicking on name from chat).

At that point, we disbanded to reform but were told by several folks that this was not an isolated incident. Several other leagues had lost teammates and, to their knowledge, always at five teammates. We agreed to reform once and only once more in hopes that no one would be removed again.. but understanding that we could not reform again and again. Unfortunately, we lost teammates again after hitting start for the second time (those disbanded will have another opportunity at the same badge - I'll run it at least two more times).

I did crash on the reformed league. I've been crashing like mad lately but the system provided me the rejoin button. Perhaps my crash was just my drivers and not related to the five who were disbanded.. not sure. One of our teammates, Antoinette, was also removed from the system (had no rejoin option from system) but was kind enough to track down help from NC. They asked that I reinvite her - attempted (both as team invite and league invite) but only received messages stating, "Could not Invite Pinkrise, You are on an incarnate trial." and "Unknown command: tut_invite". Sent along the message to NC through Antointte. Hope this helps in fixing whatever the problem is.

2. We had each team locked before starting both times. Each time, we entered with a disbanded team - teammates entered as their own team of 1. I did not pay closer attention as to whether they were members of the same team going in or members of each team. Watching more closely tomorrow night. As for the options selected, we had 24 members on 3 teams and I selected "Keyes trial", locked event, locked teams.

My gratitude to everyone who came tonight on short notice and congratulations to those who did make it to the other side. For those who were disbanded by the system, I'll still run another evening for that same Technician badge - most likely mid next week to not interfere with the holiday weekend.

We're running the next trial for the bunker door badge - dropping the 3 bunker doors simultaneously under 3 seconds per each of the 3 bunkers... just like obelisks on CoP.<cross fingers>. IF some do not make it, I will take names by global (seldom read email) who won't mind being on standby. We are on the Virtue server. My global is @Ara. I may be on a different alt (American Anthem is not my badger).

Does the time freeze stops as soon as Anti-Matter reach the mini-reactors ?

If so, the trick to minimise the time freeze effects would be to fight him directly over the mini-reactors. That would certainly make the "Avoid the Green Stuff" badge more manageable.

In running this..i have found the "time freeze" happens at certain health points during the final Anti matter Fight. So you may be partially right. To minimize the freeze, it would be more effective to fight him near the regen points. But I feel you would still need to time out the Obilteration pulse with that fight.

We are toying with the premise of smaller league sizes running this to increase control. The past 3 Keyes I have run have been with 12-14 people and been a success.

Here are some pointers I ahve noticed with the O=Beam and the time freeze.

AM will freeze time at set HP intervals. 80% 50% and 20%. Plan accordingly to stop attacking when he is near those thresholds to let the current beam fire, then take him below that level.

If you are all on vent have someone call out when you have ten seconds left or train the whole league to pay attention to the info box. that way you can not use long animation attacks and get ready to move.

Turn flight off and stay on the ground. That way the green spot of death is noticeable to you. In addition if a character has rebirth have them recolor it to something else.

So far these tips have ALMOST got me the badge. I think we will all have this worked out in a week or so.

Turns out the new wrinkle may be not only the player, but any pets may not be hit by the Obliteration beam in order to get this badge. O.O NO lore pets, no controller "pets", No MM pets.....Unless its bugged.

But I was in a nice small league (12 peeps) and got the Anti-Anti-Matter badge. It was hard in the way that it was more of a nail-biter and worrying about hitting him by accident. We had him down to 3/100 and then said 'no aoes'

I even moved my 2 AoE attacks out of my power tray just in case.

When we got the badge, we brought Anti-Matter down to 250HP. A slight breeze would have killed him. The health bar said "0" for the entire last reactor.

on victory we got the anti-antimatter badge (would have had bunker buster too but had some bad timing, we never had AM lower than 4% lol)

the final badges would not be so bad if the end fight had more time, it feels like we get him to 50% and were down to 9 min left on the timer

and yes i have to agree, these trial badges are freaking ridiculous (well some of them are ok, like the BAF ones and a few from the other trials)

i sincerely believe the pets getting hit by the obliteration beam failing the badge is a bug, pets have NEVER disqualified us for a badge before

We got him down to 9/100, then we said "k stop!" 8/100, "STOP!", 7/100, "KILL THOSE PETS!" heh


Then the main tanker noticed he had a chance for psi. dmg proc and I think it was him (not sure) that got him down to 3/100...switched out tankers and all was well heh....


He definitely goes down fast

Upon thinking more about it...would not awarding the badge based on pets being hit kinda discriminate against Masterminds...thats their WHOLE deal. How would a Controller or Corrupter feel if they could not use any buff/debuffs against Anti and just had to stand there. I know apples and oranges....

While I do not badge hunt with a Mastermind, if I did I would be very upset that my Primary way of contributing conflicts with a badge requirement.

All I can say is its got to be a bug...even the GM who responded said that he hopes that pets do not count against the badge.

When talking with Leo, he is right, I am sure that the Beam just checks to see if it hits anything, not just players, and that is how the badge is awarded. That would totally negate a League heavy on Masterminds going for the badge, even though the pets dont take any damage it seems, although they do get "held".

I am sure I am thinking way to much into it..and what will be, will be..but it just seems that they make thing frustrating..not to be clever..but just to be frustrating.

On a totally different note, a League I was in got "Loves a Challenge". We may have stacked the decks in our favor a bit, which btw I do not think you should have to do for a badge, we had 4 Empaths and a Pain Corruptor. In a League of 12 ...a quarter of it was dedicated to healing.....

as of now i dont think so, the most i have heard is 2/4 badges being gotten (anti antimatter and bunker buster)

i have not heard of anyone getting the last 2 yet
