Those "hard" badges suddenly got easy with time, just like Keyes will become.
That is the thing. Midnight dodger attempts still aren't common on some servers. And if they are, they generally have people getting multiple nukes from Warburg, and shivans from Bloody Bay still.

I'd agree; the only way I got that Midnight Dodger badge was that almost everyone had warburg nukes and shivans/lore pets/etc...nuked the poor AV to death.

Oh and, ran 3 Keyes tonight....the last time we got soooo close to getting the Bunker Buster badge but....I guess we didn't cause no badge

Edit: No other badges either Then again we only had 1 empath at the most during the 3 runs...

One thing that I really wasn't expecting that isn't terribly clear in the badge description is that Bunker Buster gets awarded at the very end of the trial. So if you destroy the bunkers but fail to beat Antimatter (which happened to my group last night), no delicious badgeyness.

We did more runs today and managed to get Bunker Buster and Anti-Anti-Matter (separately, of course). The latter was actually quite a bit easier than I'd expected; I only died once, because it inspired everybody to haul *** through the second and third phases.

Yeah I (our league) knew about that and I do find it strange...doesn't badges like Synchronized and Not on My Watch get awarded to you immediately? I can't remember now.

Yes, those two badges award when their conditions are met, not at the end of the trial.

In case you didn't know and abandoned the run at that point,

You don't get bunker buster until a successfull completion.

Yeah, the text for that badge should be:

Quote:
During the Keyes Island Reactor Trial, bust down all three doors on a bunker within three seconds, and then repeat for all bunkers near Reactor Infinity and then successfully complete the Trial.

I believe Energizing_Ion is saying that completion of the trial should not be a requirement for this badge. Given the other badges (Synchronized and Not on My Watch) do not only award on a successful completion of their respective trials, neither should Bunker Buster.

I agree with this...

It wasn't what I was saying in a way though...I said we all thought we had the doors down within 3 seconds of each other AND we beat the trial/AM down....but no badge. heh

No worries though, we finally got the Bunker Buster badge just now

Now all EI needs is the Avoids the Green Stuff and Loves a Challenge badges

Sorry for the quick /threadjack, but there's not been some other change for this badge that I'm aware of, is there? You can still use nukes and Shivans if you want to, even though Incarnate powers make them mostly unnecessary, right?

i think these badges are still ridiculous, and i doubt ill be seriously attempting them until they are either A) fixed (ie avoid green stuff failing due to pets) or B) changed (awarding at respective points and NOT at end of trial in the case of anti antimatter and bunker buster)

the only badge i have of them atm is the anti antimatter because our group rushed through most of it and had a LOT of healers (had like 4 emps +several other poeple with heals like o2 boost, ect)

Even though Incarnate powers render nukes/shivans mostly unnecessary, I've yet to see a team actually succeed without nukes/shivans.

.. in 60 % of Tin mage speed runs we do in defiant, we get dodger without shivans/nukes (we don't aim for it , it just happens)... the secret is to attack him ASAP in his spawning point, and have a lot of debuffs on him so to die very quickly....

It also helps to have lots and lots of +def shields, like colds, FFs or the incarnate buffs. I've done many runs where we just give everyone as much +def as we can muster and pull him to the door. We may set off the mines, but don't end up getting damaged by them.

Combining +def with hitting him right away, before the mines can infest every nook and cranny of the place, should lead to success. However, most people end up TPing out I think, which actually decreases the chance of success IMO.

On the flip side, 100% of the Tin Mage runs I've been on that people get the Midnight Dodger badge nukes and shivans were involved. I'm not talking about 1, 2, 3, or even 4 players with nukes & shivans. I'm talking about 6-8 players with them. Any less and no dodger badge.

Eh, no, not at all. A nice mixture of buffs and debuffs and it's a cakewalk. And with barrier out if people time their clicks you can easily keep an entire team way over softcap. Honestly it's gotten to easy. Now if you charge in their half-cocked then yeah it'll fail. Or hey if you don't even have the buffers/barrier, have people bring purple inspirations, 4 purples and 4 reds popped, he should die fairly fast. You have enough inspiration room for 3 strings of purples and 2 strings of reds.

The first time I got that badge we did exactly that - most of us had nukes, shivans, HVAS and whatever else we could throw at him. In fact, we had so many pets clogging the spawn point, he wouldn't spawn until we moved some!

But on the other side of the coin, I was running with some folks the other day and we were doing TM/Apex back to back, and we got The Midnight Dodger badge without a) setting up or b) trying for it specifically.

With the incarnate stuff it just happened to work out that way.

And it felt pretty epic too.

I didn't say it wasn't possible. However it isn't as common as you, and the other people claiming it is easy, seem to think it is.

which i also took that shivans/nukes were needed to get the badge but others seem sure you dont. i have only gotten the badge once which took 3 attempts with Shivan/Nuke combo as that was the best way then (pre incarnate). But with the new incarnate powers is that still the case?

That doesn't meant that everyone can. It also doesn't mean that I'm wrong that the teams I've seen can't, even in Issue 20, get Midnight Dodger without nukes and shivans.

Yes. Yes I am. Yes it is. Not easy, but possible.

midnight dodger is a tough badge, but its not as bad as the keyes island badges, i would rather attempt midnight dodger on all non-alpha slotted toons till they got it instead of getting the keyes island badges

Seeing that you want to say I didn't experience what I experienced, I think I can safely ignore you because it is abundantly clear that you don't want to discuss anything. Instead you want to be right.

Even others only claim a 60% success rate with a select group of people (speed runners). I've already said that I can see that some groups can do it, in multiple posts in this thread. It isn't common though.

I had typed out a meaningful post but then I thought on it and decided it wouldn't making a difference anyways. So I'm not going to get sucked into your eFight. Have a good time in game. G'luck on your badges.
