Lambda Sector Badge Poll.

As per Baryonyx's post here this is how the Lambda Sector badges "should" be working.

Badges
There have been a few questions about the Well-Stocked, Antacid and Lambda Looter badges and how they are acquired. The hints for these particular badges don't go far enough in explaining the details. There’s additional confusion due to a bug where one of the badges is improperly awarding the other two. Both of these issues will be rectified soon, but until then here's a quick guide on how these badges are intended to work so you can be prepared when the bug is fixed:
  • If your league is working on the Antacid or Well-Stocked badges, the objectives are:
    • The league gathers all 10 of one type of power without acquiring any of the other. The league can enter the other area, but cannot actually destroy any of the power-granting targets there.
    • After the Sabotage phase, the league does not use any of the gathered powers.
    • Also, during the final battle, the league does not make use of the Shipments to acquire any powers.
    • More succinctly: the league gathers all the powers in one area only within 5 minutes and then completes the event without using any of the gathered powers.
  • If your league is working on the Lambda Looter Badge, the objectives are:
    • The league gathers all powers during the Sabotage phase (all 10 Acids and all 10 Grenades).
    • After the Sabotage phase, the league does not use any of the gathered powers.
    • Also, during the final battle, the league does not make use of the Shipments to acquire any powers.
    • More succinctly: the league gathers all the powers in one area within 15 minutes and then completes the event without using any of the gathered powers.
  • If the league gathers one of both powers, the intention is that your league can only attempt the Lambda Looter badge. The Antacid and Well-Stocked badges are actually the harder pair of the three, since both have the same basic requirements of Lambda Looter, but also feature an additional time pressure of gathering 10 powers in one area within 5 minutes.
I believe that currently the Lambda Looter badge is the one that's bugged and not only rewards the Lambda Looter badge, but also the Antacid and Well Stocked badges. Because of this, you don't have to defeat Marauder 3 times without using the temp powers. As mentioned, there is a bug fix on the way that will change it to Work as Intended.

I'm not here to discuss what you think of the badge design, but to ask the following question:

Knowing what you know about the Lambda badges are you going to...

  1. Get it now before the bug is fixed?
  2. Look forward to the challenge of defeating Marauder 3 times without temps?
  3. Badges? We don't need no badges? We don't' need no stinkin badges!
  4. Meh, whatever dude. If I get it I get it, if I don't I don't.
Personally, on my badge toon I went for the "get it now!" and I doubt I'll actively pursue the badge on my other toons once it is fixed. What about you?

Thanks for your time. :

I already have the badges on my badger, so i won't be actively going for them on any other characters. However, i'll still help people looking to get them.

Option four. Lambda is already too much of an unfun pain-in-the-**** (and thats playing toons WITH stealth abilities!), that deliberately gimping myself and my team by going for the badges is pretty much a deal breaker.

Why would you need stealth?

Oh, right, you want to get glowies SOLO, WITHOUT your team backing you up. Silly person!

Maybe if you stuck with your team and rolled through instead of running off by yourself and therefore not contributing damage, your whole team would roll through faster and it'd be fun.

More like:

"I want stealth so I can keep up with my teamates who have just skipped 10 spawns of x8/+4 IDF, and meanwhile I have to try and get past them while tanking their on-sight attacks."

Getting teams to actually stop and kill things in that part of the trial has not been a positive experience for me. The response is usually something to the effect of "No just run past".

Easily typed, harder to do.

Mission Arc: Metatronic Mayhem (Id 1750): A tale of robots gone wrong, rogue robots gone right, and madmen gone every which way but loose.

The ones who just skipped all those mobs just took the attacks. They still have aggro, walk by with them. My corruptor has never had a problem that a singular cage couldn't solve (sonic/sonic) or just using one of my CC attacks/ignoring the minion I picked up.

Dying will put you back at the entrance, and I have never seen a team come back for anyone. Silly person.

Stealth is worth its weight in gold in this phase.

You are are screwed as a blaster if you die. Without stealth, its just painful. No one fights through the mobs, they just run to the next glowy, so once your poor blaster who no one cares about face plants, its over till the end. Its not just blasters, once you face plant as a squishy, I just see them over and over with me in the hospitol. You just cant rejoin the groups without stealth. I find BAF fun, and Lambda just painful.

Probably 1. As it is i find it hard already to find enough lambda trials being run to get that destiny slot unlocked.

Combat Kangaroos, Justice Server. First 50's
Jirra Roo Plant/Storm/Stone/Musculature Controller
Combat Kangaroo Rifle/Energy/Mace/Spiritual Blaster
Kung Fu Kangaroo Martial Arts/Reflexes/Body/Spiritual Scrapper
Tribal Arc Shield/Elec/Mu/Spiritual Tanker

Thank you Kanga for answering my question and trying to get this back on the original topic.

I know folks are frustrated by the Lambda Sector trial. There are other threads discussing that. I would like for this NOT to be another one of those threads, but to focus on the badges and what folks will or won't do related to them.

Can we please do that? Thanks.

I've been on 2 MoLambda attempts, and each time some moron tossed a grenade at Marauder after repeated instructions not to do so. I'm not trying for it again, period. The devs can fix the badges, but they can't fix stupid people.

Attempted, for a second time, the MoLambda. Will not attempt again unless a MoLambda is the only Lam forming and I need an Emp for the day.

Definately option 4 Meh.

I just am not having this experience. My ice blaster hovers or flies through the mobs, and I can catch up to the team or go off with a tank or solo. Try using those purple defense inspirations, they actually work. It does also help to get the level shifts so the mobs are not all purple to you as well. I have done Lambda, on a blaster, corrupter, brute, and controller some with invis some without. I saw one player sitting the part out saying since they did not have stealth they were not going to help. All I have to say is, quit your whining and get the heck in there. Like people said, stick together. It's really not as difficult as people make this part out to be.

So.

Ryo.

What was your vote?

Somehow it, uhm, wasn't mentioned there.

Option 4 here too. In general, I'd rather avoid any Master of attempts - especially after running two aborted MoBAF attempts over the weekend that failed to complete at all. I'm hopping between X number of toons trying to work up the incarnate trees - I'm much more concerned with actually succeeding in trials than going for Master.

Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level

I'd like to get the various Lambda badges that are awarded for not using the temporary powers, but as my Incarnate deals mostly Lethal damage, he's pretty much dead weight on those attempts.

my main already has the badges so i essentially went with option 1 for him

for the other ones its mostly option 3 or 4 (i dont care about badges much on my other toons but if i get em i get em)

Well, I don't really care either way. I already have the Master of Lambda on my ill/rad, but I am not really a badger. Defeating Marauder 3 times over is a little much, considering no grenades and no acids on one run is quite a nice level of difficulty.

I would have to recommend 1. Grandfather yourself in.

I did not vote the first time, because I was actually looking for a forum poll with those options and just figured I was being stupid not finding it.

No question to me BAF is much more fun than Lambda( my only complaint with BAF, is I wish after doing it X number of times, you no longer get the cut scene), while both require a certian level of cooperation among a large group of players, it just seems that cooperation just doesn't happen with Lambda. Granted BAF is much more easier to pick up on, if you never have done one before, it really doesn't require studying Paragon Wiki to do.
