    Tw/ELA brute

Just trying to make a non-purple set build for a friend.

I focused heavily on melee defense. So with defense sweep active it's up to 51% for melee positional. Range really sucks, and AOE is not bad. By 38 I was running out of slots so the powers past that got minimal slotting.

    Polar Lights..

I find them to be a nice size. Not everyone wants colossal pets. To prevent further dissatisfaction with a pet size in the future, may I suggest going to the tailor and customizing the lore power, you will see your toon cast the pets. For size queens, Polar Lights are not the choice.
  3. I prefer to slot lightning field with proc chances for dmg and a little end redux. As an elec brute I can't really say I have much of an end issue.
  4. For starters:

Get rid of chance for knockdown in Fire cages. Replace with purple Gravitational Anchor - Chance for Hold. The immob in fire cages, does not even alow the mobs to be knocked down.

    Level 2: Fire Cages
    (A) Ragnarok - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge
    (7) Ragnarok - Accuracy/Recharge
    (9) Ragnarok - Damage/Recharge
    (9) Ragnarok - Damage
    (11) Ragnarok - Damage/Endurance
    (13) Gravitational Anchor - Chance for hold

    Fix concealment pool:
Next, get rid of your Concealment pool: grant invis and invisibility. Pick up stealth. Were you planning on granting invis to your pets or something? and what part of the farm required you to have invisibility?

    fix speed pool:
Pick up speed: super speed. With your stealth and super speed running you are invis

    Fix leadership pool:
remove all of leadership pool choices

    Get Fighting pool
Pick up boxing (or kick), tough and weave.

    Remove the following:
Get rid of bonfires, super jump, acrobatics.

I think you could pick up the knockback protection you want through IO sets like Blessing of zephyr if I remember right.

You will be invis with just stealth and super speed.

Your build should emphasize surviveability and recharge so your holds are coming up quickly.

    Weird BAF's!!!

It also seems that with the reactivation we have a lot of toons that are not really even alpha-slotted yet joining the trials which has a big affect on damage and being able to stop prisoners.

I did a BAF the other day, and I swear I did not recognize a good 80% of the team members. People maybe working on alts (like me now), or reactivators.
  6. Ryo_Takenoko

    Weird BAF's!!!

I think the biggest thing with 'Keep em Separated', is having an adds team that can handle it, not "people who need iXp". You need a good group immob, and large amounts of aoe dmg. Too many times people throw toons on an add team that don't make much sense.

    Hi from Sweden

    Hiya,

And welcome to Infinity! Come join us in RWZ soon.
  8. Once my ill/rad got his level shifts, and went Reactive for fire DOT, he does quite well with the prisoners. I can understand your frustration in the beginning without the level shifts, but at this point in time I would say there is nothing that causes my ill/rad to weep on a Lambda or BAF. Phantom + decoys + phantom army + 2 Lore pets equals lots of dead prisoners. Are you still doing door defense? Take your ill/rad into one of the zone defense spots.

They are tough on all ATs in the beginning. I find it more annoying when i did it with my stalker and brute than when i used my ill/rad.
  9. I will 2nd or 3rd or whatever the fire/cold corr. It is alot of fun and some really sick damage. Absolutely grab Interface - Reactive and go the fire damage DOT route in that slot.

The only thing I do not like about my fire/ice corr is no heal since my builds do not have room for medicine pool and my Destiny slot has the recharge path in it.

And welcome back and thank you for your service in Iraq.
  10. I'd transfer a 50 to one of the servers. The low levels...while there are people, it never seems to be alot. Also be sure to check out the channels on whatever server you transfer to. On infinity we have multiple channels that can fill a league up quick quickly.

It's better to hook up with the 50's and make new friends fast then hook up with them when they decide to play a lowbie.

I think these are freely available now without having to do the unlock missions. Maybe check the elite quartermaster in ritki war zone.

The thing with ice/ice blasters is you are a mini controller. So you have damage and control and need to use some of your control to mitigate incoming mobs.

You're dropping your ice patch, throwing out freezeray, and hammering on the enemies still running at you. Get them on the ice patch and do your ice breath cone.

You should be pretty fine doing missions set at a normal difficulty level. You will still encounter the problems that all lower level toons have, mobs resistant to the slip and fall of the ice patch, or mezzers who get you held and pummel you.

That and casting deceive on the mobs as you fly by them.

    ice/ice leveling

Well for starters, don't forget to use inspirations. A few purple defense ones before a tricky pull can make the difference between succeeding and the hospital.

Ice/ice is a nice mix of blast and control. Have you taken ice patch yet? Drop that and stand behind it before firing off your initial attack. Most mobs are going to slip and fall on it when they run into it.

What particular type of mob are you fighting? Are you on Infinity?

I love my 50 ice/ice/nrg blaster. I have just the right amount of control and the damage is decent especially when you pick up Interface - reactive.

    For the Doubters

Oh and apologies for all the people PMing me for invite, I did not realize I had star at that point, so I kept telling people to Pm Ms. Mesmer. We sure did give em the run around. Hehehehe!

Oh, and don't give em a good job if a prisoner escapes Ms. Mesmer. Once one goes through, shout "EPIC FAIL! Don't make me restart this BAF because you n00bs left a prisoner free!"

Sometimes a little tough love can get em going.

Hey that was me on Toxic Bunny Boy, not that darn flamer tank Honou no Ko.

Well, I don't really care either way. I already have the Master of Lambda on my ill/rad, but I am not really a badger. Defeating Marauder 3 times over is a little much, considering no grenades and no acids on one run is quite a nice level of difficulty.

I would have to recommend 1. Grandfather yourself in.

I did not vote the first time, because I was actually looking for a forum poll with those options and just figured I was being stupid not finding it.

Its not just blasters, once you face plant as a squishy, I just see them over and over with me in the hospitol. You just cant rejoin the groups without stealth. I find BAF fun, and Lambda just painful.

I just am not having this experience. My ice blaster hovers or flies through the mobs, and I can catch up to the team or go off with a tank or solo. Try using those purple defense inspirations, they actually work. It does also help to get the level shifts so the mobs are not all purple to you as well. I have done Lambda, on a blaster, corrupter, brute, and controller some with invis some without. I saw one player sitting the part out saying since they did not have stealth they were not going to help. All I have to say is, quit your whining and get the heck in there. Like people said, stick together. It's really not as difficult as people make this part out to be.

On a fire/ice corr, using mainly the ice and fire rains along with fireball, I have received more rares than my ill/rad and ice blaster.

So i think aoe rains are A OK.

  19. Actually you should have made your last slot be Gravitational Anchor - chance for HOLD (also a purple). Not that silly knockdown you put in there. So every time you spam your fire cages you will likely catch 1 - 3 of the mobs in the hold not just the immob.

Put the chance for knockdown in in like a fireball if you pick up fire epic.
  20. I would have to agree. It is an insane amount of buffing. No one is expecting you to buff the entire league.

I try to get my team covered during the important parts, and also make sure to cover the main tanks. If I die and am at the hospital waiting to get out, its always a good idea to buff people at the door.

The pace is usually too frantic to do a full 16 people, let alone 24. It's not like anyone stops and pauses to "buff up". It's a massive race.
  21. Not sure about the loot table, but I think you really should drop your pets.

My order of attack on Lambda is to confuse war walkers and commanders. I go to a capsule, confuse a few of the mobs around it, drop PA, through down a spectral terror and start taking down the capsule while maintaining confused enemys.

As I hover through the hallways, I drop spectral terrors near doors to prevent mobs from coming through while also confusing enemies that I am running by. I figure if a war walker is busy attacking his buddies he will ignore players running by.

I go for the warwalkers and commanders because they seem to have alot of aoe dmg.

With this routine, I can solo a capsule quite easily.

Mind you this is with a perma build.

  23. I'd have to agree with SpiderTeo, you may want to look at your build and have it reviewed. Some +DEF can go a long way to making you more survivable. I know we took our sonic/sonic corr friend who kept having * Snarf like moments in missions and converted him from dying 5 times per mish run to not dying. I do kind of miss his comical deaths though. Now even when he tries to get killed he ends up failing.

    * Snarf = that stupid comic relief pet in Thundercats
  24. Put it in FOLLOWUP at the start of your attack chain. When you actually would need a build up rather than in tt powers.
  25. Sake:
    Kiku-hime (chrysanthemum princess),
    Oni koroshi (demon slayer)
    Hakushika junmai dai ginjyo.
    bishounen (pretty boy)
    meibo yowano suki (midnight moon)

or I'll settle for a rum and coke.
