Confuse in the Incarnate Trials
I'm not sure about the buffs.
As for the loot table, that system is such a disaster there is no telling what counts and what doesn't. A few players have been able to consistently get Rare and Very Rare drops but so far they've not shared how they did it. The best advice I can give at this point is click a lot of stuff and cross your fingers.
Not sure about the loot table, but I think you really should drop your pets.
My order of attack on Lambda is to confuse war walkers and commanders. I go to a capsule, confuse a few of the mobs around it, drop PA, through down a spectral terror and start taking down the capsule while maintaining confused enemys.
As I hover through the hallways, I drop spectral terrors near doors to prevent mobs from coming through while also confusing enemies that I am running by. I figure if a war walker is busy attacking his buddies he will ignore players running by.
I go for the warwalkers and commanders because they seem to have alot of aoe dmg.
With this routine, I can solo a capsule quite easily.
Mind you this is with a perma build.
I haven't seen any buffs from the orbs. It may be because they are buffs limited to the specific foes -- kind of like how Vaz Morts can only rez Vaz even when confused.
Since you don't get standard Experience XP for defeats done by confused foes, I suspect that the Incarnate XP and credit towards the tables has some kind of similar effect -- the more the confused foe does, the less is available to earn.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Loot tables are broken anyway. We had a door sitter on their own team get a rare drop out of the B.A.F. so either the loot tables are not working, or the changes for doing a good job are so minute as to make no difference.
During the sabotage phase of Lambda, I decided on my Ill/Rad to not do any damage at all. No pets out, no damage, Superior Invisibility toggled on and followed the team. Sometimes I'd find myself alone with another scrapper. Whatever the case, I'd Confuse the mobs around the crates/chambers and they'd attack the other mobs or the crates/chambers themselves.
The Seers are particularly dangerous with their psi attacks, so Confusing them at least turns their attention away from my team. Their help in attacking the crates/chambers is icing on the cake. The Vickies do a lot of damage on the items and the big Warworks can wipe out the minions milling around.
Now I'm wondering if anyone can answer two questions:
Has anyone gotten any buffs from Confusing the Warworks Orbs?
Does anyone know if Confusing mobs to destroy crates/chambers earn you any participation credit for your loot table?
