  1. Yeah, most negative nancies you see are people who are jerks anyway and the game's better off without them.

This game gets rid of so many tedious and terrible things that other MMOs consider 'content'. You get travel powers rather quickly, so there's no jogging slowly for hours to get to missions. PVP is completely optional (and not particularly popular) and the game warns you from miles away about it. Thanks to the Sidekick system you can team with literally anyone, anywhere (to an extent) and still contribute to the team, and there's many different paths to levelling- it's impossible to do all the content on one character without deliberately slowing your progress.

This is the only game where there's a button to turn off XP gain, and it's considered a good feature.

He's a pain in the **** boss as well, at least for my Scrapper. I ended up dropping that mish.
  3. I don't mind the warehouses, just get rid of the damn caves!

    Zombie Invasions

Generaly, outside of the Halloween event when invasions happen regularly, people aren't prepared to drop what they're doing and try to assemble a team to fight the zombies.

Besides, there's no reason to be afraid of starting a new character. Levelling in this game is, by MMO standards, piss easy and very fast, and there's nothing you can't recreate.
  8. Literally any Scrapper will solo fine. Some Tankers, Blasters and Controllers should do well also.

Nearly any villain will probably work too, they're all designed to be soloable and self-sufficient. Brutes and Masterminds especially.
  9. Man, this reminds me of Kotaku Australia. I don't care what it's like now, when it first came out it was a terrible segregated, inferior site that nobody used and I felt insulted.

    Elite Four

Eh, I'm imagining it a little differently.

Black Scorpion I agree would probably be all over Steel and Bug types and with a Drapion as his team mascot.

Captain Mako; I'm thinking more Sharpedo, Gyarados, Slowbro, Cloyster, and then maybe Swampert. For the lulz.

Scirocco: I wouldn't focus on the sword gimmick, rather the magic; Ground, Electric and Psychic types. Xatu, Flygon, Marowak, Luxray... not sure about the rest but I'm onto something.

Ghost Widow: Nasty Ghost types of course, I think the above list is fine.

Lord Recluse: Ariados I can agree on, but his lackeys have enough Dark types between them. How about theming them on the Arachnos divisions? Machamp for the soldiers, Magnezone for the robots and drones, Weavile for the Widows (it even has the hair), Electrode for the Mu, and... one that represents the villains.
  11. If you want early SOs, it looks like you might be farming Frostfire. Shouldn't be hard.

    Elite Four

Great, now I'm going to have to come up with themed Pokemon teams for each Arachnos patron, with Lord Recluse as the Champion.

    Propel

If only it was nearly useful enough to be worth it on Dominators.

  14. You should have seen salvage prices when Inventions was first introduced. Boresights were incredibly expensive, and heaven help you if you wanted pretty much any arcane salvage. AE was kind of a throwback to that, actually.

And costume drops were worth zillions. I still have a set I was saving for a friend if/when he managed to join the game, which I could have sold for a ton.

Minimum specs are very rarely a good benchmark to go by. The game's been updated repeatedly and some zones will be more intensive than others (I have to change my settings just to get Grandville to load) so they can be misleading, especially for a MMO.

Although it sounds like you just got unlucky with your install. Give it as many tries as you're willing to, and it should pay off. Thanks for letting us help you, you'd be surprised how many people moan and whine and don't seem to actually want help.
  16. From watching Sailor Moon Abridged, I'd reccomend Blaster, Defender or Controller. Maybe the mysterious protector as a Scrapper or Tanker.
  17. All my characters' vet rewards and other powers were bought from Ebay.
  18. Well, looks like you're gonna have to get those kind of SOs yourself if you want them.

There aren't any IO sets available at that level, are there?
  19. We have a Hero 1 dev too, and the in-game character is still worse than dead.
  20. I just kind of want to know what all the mouse-over messages for different levels of rep are.
  21. The devs have adamantly said they do not plan to raise the level cap, and most players are against this too.

Heck, normally we're the ones who have to explain to newbies why it's a bad idea, so you're ahead of the pack in that respect.

They only ever raised the level cap once (40-50) and that was intended from the beginning anyway, as they wanted to finish the 40-50 content and powers first. They're more focused on giving you more stuff to do at 50 rather than causing more grind and obseleting so much content.
  22. As said: If you have to ask, you can't get away with it.

It's easy to use a name without explicit drug references.

    Kamikaze

I'm gonna get this outta the way first: Buy the Cyborg pack.
  24. You may not realise that most of the 'hunt' missions are very old content, from when the game was first released and expected to conform to an older definition of the MMO, which was basically bad design that players got used to for some reason. (see: Everquest)

Newer content and missions have very few to zero street hunts, and never quite as annoying as that. They really need to go back and revamp the older content, though.
  25. Generally, generic IOs aren't considered useful until levle 35, when they break even with SOs.

But sets (apparently) have better numbers and the bonuses are handy, so you can start using them whenever you're able.
