Propel

I run with a couple of gravity controllers and my only complaint is the Propel power. I don't blame them for taking or using it and I don't say anything out loud BUT...

Why are those items so frickin' big!? They completely obscure my view of the battlefield. The Daily Planet Globe is the worst offender but junked cars and pool tables are no picnic either. If they could throw the lamp shades all day long I'd be much happier.

I could have sworn I saw a red-name mention that he was working on taking the big items out of the list propel used but that was a long time ago (like prior to the last issue release) and I'm not seeing any difference. Does anyone know the status on that project or even heard of it besides me?

This has only become a problem since I upgraded to full graphics with my new computer. Prior to that the items generally disappeared as soon as they hit their target. Is there some graphics setting I can turn off or lower that will let me dispense with the battlefield debris without affecting the rest of my play experience?

Menu > Options > Graphics Tab > Advanced Graphics Settings Section > Particle Physics Quality > Low

That will reduce the number of physics objects like shell casings, exploding debris, and propel items that are drawn at the same time.

If you have the Wedding Pack, throw rose petals or confetti. The new, smaller bits will cause the older, bigger bits to disappear.

I can't wait to try this. You need a TV pitchman to sell this product.

Thanks Zombie! I'll give it a try.

I hope they don't remove the coffin. Nothing is so poetic as finishing off an enemy by hitting him with a coffin.

if you turn particle physics to off then th objects wont even stay on the screen.

It would be sweet if we could set the object thrown.

No, but if you are in the middle of trying to switch targets or fighting in a tight space (like the blue caves or a corner of a stairway) and suddenly your screen is completely filled up with a giant metal globe or a car sitting on its side it slows you down at the least and can be completely disoreinting at the worst.

To me it's a little annoyance in certain rare circumstances that doesn't especially bother me. My wife, for various reasons, finds it frustrating to the point of quitting the team.

I respect the frustration factor you're experiencing, but for my money, seeing a Freakshow Tank get smacked by a forklift just

never

gets

old.

Yeah, the size of the objects you're throwing is half of the appeal of the power. You think we'd spend that much time animating an attack to throw a lamp shade? I actually want to see Hurl throw the same objects.

I can empathise, though, and it would be nice if you could set the maximum size of the objects as one of your graphic options. After all, they are all client side, all of that is on your computer and nowhere else. I don't even see the same objects you do.

Turning off the particle effects or forcing other particles to take their place at least seems like a workaround for now.

LOL Indeed!

[Edit] Oh, and it worked great. My wife was much happier playing tonight.

Hehe. I made a Grav Controller when I saw Propel in action, and didn't regret it one bit. Too much fun, even if it does have too long of an activation.

I've a stranded Grav/Kin... I've played grav before, just was thinking about something. Grav is needed for it - Lets just say the alt is called "Cage and Affect"

That's great. It's always good to see someone won back over to Propel.

If only it was nearly useful enough to be worth it on Dominators.

My grav/fire has it, and uses it every time it is recharged. Because it is awesome. And should never be ignored. Who cares if my teammate(s) have killed my target before it finishes animating, I AM THROWING A FORKLIFT AT HIS DEAD BODY. JUST TO BE SURE HE'S *REALLY* DEAD!
