  1. As many of you know, I've already done orchestral rearrangements of both the CoH and CoV login themes. Right now, I'm putting the finishing touches to a piece I'm calling 'Incarnate', a sort of theme for those on the road to godhood.

This got me thinking. I could do series of tracks, each a theme for a person/place/event.

So, good people of the forums, what would you like to hear? A theme for Nemesis? Ghost Widows dirge? A Shadow Shard symphony? Any and all ideas are welcome.
  2. Many buckets of gratz to ye sir.

  4. Earlier today I was trying to replicate something I like to call "The Captain Epic Moment" whereby one activates Self Destruct when you're only a few xp from leveling. The resultant explosion kills almost everything around you, you level and rez.

Unfortunately as I was about to do this, my teammate aggros the spawn just as I clicked the button. I explode without killing a single mob.

Thankfully I rezzed about 30 seconds later due to my team xp filling the last bar. But still, that was a long, embarrassing 30 seconds.
  5. Note: I accidentally necroed the old thread. This post has been moved from there.

I inherited Captain Epic from _Lukas_. The name now belongs to a KM/WP Scrapper.
I also have Radiant Decay (Rad/Rad Corr),
Val Halen, a rock guitarist with a Thor complex (seriously, we NEED a guitar for Warmace/Battleaxe customisation)
The Smiling Man (Thugs/Dark MM) This dude is creepy - I mean really creepy.
    Narada (WS)

I'll post some more when I remember them.
  6. EDIT: Post removed, accidentally posted wrong thread. Sorry for the necro.
  7. Also, with the server list merge coming, some of the lower pop servers on both sides *might* see an increase in activity. Will trial runs decrease in frequency? Most likely, but not to ghost town levels.
  8. I've had my fair share of embarrassing incidents playing this game. Mistells, hitting quit team rather than exit, accidentally aggroing the wrong mob.

But the one that springs to mind for me is while I was running the Sister Arlia arc in Cimerora with my well IO'd, lvl 50 brute. I had decided to do it on easy mode, -1x1, so I could coast along and enjoy the story. Second or third mission in, my complacency got the better of me. I had rescued Ghost Widow and she was following, helping me out. I decided to aggro a couple of spawns for giggles. Being the aggro magnet that my brute is I got ganked by 12-15 mere blue and white conning mobs.

As I lay faceplanted, I thought to myself, "Well, that was embarrassing. I'm glad I'm the only one who saw that."

So, my question to you is, have you ever had any embarrassing incidents while playing?
  9. Sequestration for me is kinda fun, as my brute has stupid mag hold protection (only Ghost Widow can sucessfully lock him down) he still has freedom of movement. However, I stay in melee and keep on pounding. I take the resulting blitz like a man, die, pop Soul Transfer, rez, knock Seige/Nightstar silly with it's mag 30 stun, repop my toggles and carry on pounding like nothing happened.

Whilst what you say is true, I think the OP was referring to his transcendence of the Blasters squishy nature via such methods such as IO's, set bonuses and Incarnate goodies.
I quite like the idea of a "Don't call me squishy" badge. Perhaps it can be awarded from taking X amount of damage in X amount of time with out dying.
  11. Aaaah Zod. As much as I love the Terrence Stamp portrayal, I hate it too. The character (much like the rest of Superman 2) was too damn goofy. Even the Richard Donner cut couldn't remove all of Richard Lester's farcical direction.

That being said, the pathological arrogance of Zod was one of the things that made him interesting. I hope that this new take on the character keeps that aspect, but allows for more depth and dimension.

EDIT: Oh yeah, regardless of the movies final quality, if there isn't a "Kneel before Zod" line, I'm asking for my money back ;p
  12. "I've got the whole package."
Judging by the way that harness is riding, we are all very well aware of that, George. ;P
  13. I managed to nab Captain Epic on Union a few months back. You can bet your hind quarters I'm keeping that.
  14. When I first read that, I thought 'Tom Hardy? That scrawny little bloke from Star Trek: Nemesis? As Bane? Naaaaah!' Then I saw this. Incidentally, this pre-empts the announcement by about a month.

As for Hathaway as Catwoman ...Meeeow!
  15. Here's hoping for some massive furry shoulder pads

Actually yes. There is a program which will do it for you. I'm not entirely sure I'm allowed to discuss on the forums and am reluctant to name it.

Glad you liked the tracks btw

Dark Armor in particular I feel needs some alternate FX. Murky Cloud is often the butt of many a Twilight joke what with those rediculous sparkles. Give me some liquid darkness to wrap my toon in, something akin to Death Eater apparition.

  18. As altmodes go, a Mad Max style truck suits him. The tarp hood/shoulder cape thing is a interesting touch. Though I'd still wait to see him in the movie. It may well suck simian reproductive organs yet.

As for that toy, I'm guessing it's a voyager mold (that's medium sized, for those not familiar with TF toy nomenclature). I'd like to see the leader class version.

Alpha slot boosts don't work like global boosts. You won't see a change in combat attributes. Instead they work more like having an extra enhancement in each power. You should see a difference in the damage numbers of individual powers. Though the difference may be minimal if you're at, or close to the ED cap.
  23. Have you tried Hover/Fly/Jetpack? From what I recall you need to be touching the ground for the crystals AoE to hit. I could be mistaken though. Have a go, see what happens.
  24. Righty then my good chums, I've been looking into IOing out my Elec x3 Blaster for a while now. For the moment he's got generic IO's but I'm looking to take advantage of sets and their respective bonuses. I've had a bit of a tinker on Mids and come up with a build. However I'd like some feedback.

There are a few caveats though:

    1. I'm looking to maximise defence and End management.
    2. I don't want to rely on Alpha Slot bonuses. (He hasn't got his yet anyway)
    3. I'd like to avoid a respec if possible, however if I must respec, I wish to keep the Elec x3 concept.
    4. I tend to play ranged with minimal forays into melee.
    5. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, so no purples and as few uniques as possible.

Here's my initial proposed build. Suggestions for improvement are most welcome.

  25. Let me see. For the first week after I19, I was running my 5-a-day Tip missions and didn't get a single drop. Yesterday I realise I was still running on -1/x1 from ages ago. I switched to 1/x1 and BAM! I get 4 shards in my next few Tips.

Today however I hit the jackpot. 1 Mothership raid. 3 teams. 4 shards. 500+ Vanguard merits. I've now got my common boost slotted after effectively 2 days.

...surprisingly light on recipie drops during the raid though.
