Quote:Yes, Mace needs some custom lovin' and a hockey stick would be awesome! If one of the weapon models was a hockey stick, I'd totally make a War Mace brute.
and a tree branch that drops little leaves when you swing it!
And a vacuum! (Think Marge Simpson from the old arcade game) -
Go-to toons...
WM/SD Brute - Redside, well io'd and so much fun.
Earth/Emp troller - Blueside, great for teams, is my usual merit gathering toon -
Quote:Level 2 is where most people start teaming (assuming they have done the tutorial)I again want to thank all who comment and help me as I grow in City of heroes and since I have you reading this i have always played solo and am curious about team playing? At what level can you start effectively? Folks tend to invite me when I am amidst a mission assignment.
Thanks again folks,

Thanks for posting the build Tex. I am working on one of these blaster at the moment.
Aside from swapping SJ for SS, I may borrow this build.
It does, however, look quite expensive. May take some time to get all the pieces.

Quote:For a change of pace, you can try the Cim and RWZ missions. The arcs are interesting and Borea (and the cim guy who's like Borea, forget his name) give the never ending supply of missions. You can go back and forth between fighting tech aliens and sword wielding foot soldiers. Also, there is always the AE arcs.As someone who has (and likely almost always will) solo his way through the game, it seems like I'm running out of places to go. I've done the TF's in Ouroboros dozens of times, and have gone through all the missions in PI.
Can anyone recommend some fun places to go where I can solo, and/or score some great drops?
Thanks in advance. -

The idea of being able to lay out custom massive interactive cities for gaming, in a relatively short amount of time is exciting. It gives hope to the future for game developers. Cities like steel canyon would be a thing of the past.
Real life looking cities with a huge variety of building types (like some of the images in the article) could be created for us to fully immerse ourselves in the virtual world.
Quote:Wow, so *not* where I thought this thread would go, but entertaining nonetheless!
That being said, I prefer the layout of the villain zones to Hero. More realistic layouts. imo. Although, being on the east coast some of the cities I am accustomed to are older and have more random layouts that conform to where the original roads were. Having visited a few western cities, i see they are more properly planned out ahead of time. (of course this is just an observation, not to be taken as a constant). Just compare lower Manhattan (the village) to the rest of it. Convoluted streets eventually giving way to the grid system as you move north. I love the old school cities and love to run my character thru it's streets. -
Quote:I haven't beaten the game yet. I still have open character slots on many servers. Is this game beatable? Have you beaten it? I know that there's no right answer, but I do want to hear what people say.
For me, beating the game is completing every story arc relevant to the "Main" story in the game.* As a villain, there's one main story: The Destined Ones. Once I've completed everything connected to that, I've beat the game and am, mentally, on "New Game +" mode when exploring the rest of the game.
Just occurred to me, as I only recently completed Operation: DESTINY. As I laid me down to sleep, I thought to myself two things: "FINALLY beat the dang game," and "FINALLY started the rest of the actual game".
Thoughts?
*I am a "Villain", so please keep that in mind. -

Some good suggestions on how to cope with the problem, but again, the problem still exists.
Rush Bolt:
This has little to do with my personal performance. As I say, I've considerable experience and rarely have any difficulty with anything in the game. The problem is it's just not fun playing when I'm more concerned with conserving endurance than defeating the enemy.
Also, this is not some personal crusade (well, maybe a little). The fact is, I'm not the only one that has said this, and it's been brought up countless times over the years. That suggests to me that there's some kind of a problem that needs to be examined.
Why should it change? Because it's NOT FUN, and that's the only measure that really matters.
It's not a problem. It's working as intended. You do stuff -> you get tired. Without endurance usage it would all be "how fast can I press a button" That's "NOT FUN" either.
You may not be the only one who says this (as you stated above) but you are in the overwhelming minority.
Endurance use management takes only a small amount of common sense to achieve. I'd like think most of us have at least that. -
If the powers I chose dont mesh well (usually know by the teen lvls) then the toon is gone.
If the costume isn't right and its still under lvl 20, it's gone.
Or if it's a PB... Arrggh, why can't I play them! -
I hope the ehns can be "claimed" (similar to vet reward) otherwise they will sit in your tray unless you slot or delete them. I also hope you can claim 1 at a time. The procs might be fun to slot in something like brawl, or a pbaoe toggle on an alternate build.

May I introduce you to "Crab soldiers:"
Venom Grenade Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate Damage over Time (Toxic), Foe -Resistance
Frag Grenade Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate Damage (Lethal/Smashing), Foe Knockback
Frenzy PBAoE, Moderate Damage (Lethal/Energy), Foe: -Defense
Omega Maneuver Summon Omega Bomb: PBAoE, Superior Damage (Smashing/Energy)
Heavy Burst Ranged (Cone), High Damage over Time (Lethal), Foe: -Defense
AND
Bile Spray Cone Damage over time (Toxic)
or
Disruptor Blast Ranged (Targetted Area of Effect), Moderate Damage (Smashing, Energy), Foe: Knockback
or
Ball Lightning Ranged (Targeted Area of Effect), Moderate Damage over Time(Energy), Foe: -Endurance
or
Dark Obliteration Ranged (Targeted Area of Effect), Moderate Damage(Negative), Foe -Accuracy
That's right. 6 AoE's, (I didn't include the melee cone even) 5 usable often. Oh yeah, and the venom grenade not only does decent damage, its debuff makes all other AoE's hit harder, and it is easy to lay down constantly.
I <3 my crab. -

Trying to get all the RWZ exploration badges on a toon under lvl 5.

Quote:Try a dark/shield scrapper. You'll get to "beat down stuff" hardcore. (Soul Drain + Shield Charge = Pwnage)thats kinda funny i'm the other way around i've played ranged types blasters,dominators,ect... and i'm trying to get into more melee types i have a lvl 30 stalker but i wanna make a solid scrapper so i can solo better and beat down stuff lol still not sure whats more for me a scrapper/stalker type or trying a tank type lol

*You may want to swap out Fly and Air Supp for Combat Jumping and SJ. The little bit of def goes along way. (CJ is also a good -kb io slot)
*Get Hasten
*As stated above, stamina is not necessary, or can be put off until a later pick. The rest of your build looks good.
*Consider the fighting pool if you find you resists and defense to be lacking at later levels.

I haven't seen any commentary on stalkers attempting this mission. I will have to try it when I get out of work today. 8x AS!!!!

Quote:There is a Nictus faction of mobs to choose from. (Voids, Squid, Lobsters, and Crysts) You can add one to your enemy group if you like. Can you specifically place them in AE missions? I don't recall seeing them as an enemy, but I've only tried my hand at a couple arcs.
I am not sure if there is the quantum version of each mob avaiable, I do not believe so. -
