Best places to solo at Lvl 50?

As someone who has (and likely almost always will) solo his way through the game, it seems like I'm running out of places to go. I've done the TF's in Ouroboros dozens of times, and have gone through all the missions in PI.

Can anyone recommend some fun places to go where I can solo, and/or score some great drops?

Thanks in advance.

A simple question, but as usual, the answer is: it depends...

What is your L50 looking to do?

Is it some sort of farmer (inf, tickets, merits, PvP)?

Is it some type of Role Player (krytonite for a certain NPC group, mentor to
newbies, drive-by buffer)?

Is it an S/VG provider - crafter, prestige earner, base builder?

Is it a casual-play toon - odd paper missions, Shard missions, etc.

How you play and how you answer these questions point to the locations.

In my case, I'm a 95% solo'er and a duo'er the other 5%. I have some
different toons in several of those categories...

I have a couple that stay in PvP zones, I have one that farms the wall in
Cimoera (sp?) cuz killing Romans en-masse is amusing. I have a couple that
run Ouros missions for merits, and one or two financial moguls who camp
at the Market, and even a couple that hang out in lowbie zones assisting
new players (sort of RP Mentor toons)...

All of those are solo characters, and all of them play in different places for
a whole host of different reasons - likewise all of them are fun for me for
various reasons also.

Hope that gives you some more framework for your question.

The answer is up to you.

My energy toon just does PI Radio mish's at +1 X5, mainly looking for Council and Arachnos mishes. If I need to go against the CoT or Carnies I lower it to +1x3 ish.

Thanks for your response

I play mostly to get inf/merit points to make my character better, but I also give away a lot of my extra stuff to new players, and occasionally allow lower levels to be my sidekick.

Is there anything similar to the TF's in Ouroborous you would recommend? I find those to be pretty challenging and am hoping to find some new missions or TF's like those?

For a change of pace, you can try the Cim and RWZ missions. The arcs are interesting and Borea (and the cim guy who's like Borea, forget his name) give the never ending supply of missions. You can go back and forth between fighting tech aliens and sword wielding foot soldiers. Also, there is always the AE arcs.

* Peregrine Island - Mera Heights is usually a good area to street sweep while checking Poseidon Square and Portal Corp. The only thing to keep an eye out for is the MI/DRM combo which can go south real quick if not careful. I've always had good luck with drops in this area, but your mileage may vary.

* Rikti War Zone - As was stated, Borea has repeatable missions. When street sweeping, I looks for groups between 48 and 50, while making sure I don't get too close to a Pylon. Unless you've got a few Break Frees in hand, make your own judgment calls as to how many Mentalists/Mesmerists you wish to face. The plus side here is that you will also be getting Vanguard Merits as well.

* Cimerora - As was stated Marcus Valerius has repeatable missions here and using super powers to beat up evil Greco-Roman era soldiers is fun (not as fun as fighting the 5th Column (what is, right!?), but its close).

* Shadow Shard - Accessed through Portal Corp, very few people hit the Shadow Shard, so you can go unhindered here. There are a few short arcs followed by two contacts with repeatable missions: Dr. Huxley (Mole Point Charley in CA) has repeatable Kora Fruit missions and Lt Col Flynn (I think) has repeatable Rescue missions. Depending on your build you can also street sweep in the Chantry and/or Storm Palace. The only downside is that the Chantry only really goes up to L47 while the Storm Palace is the 48-50 area. However, the Storm Palace usually has large groups of Brutes and Storm Elementals, both of which can tear you up quickly. I really wish the Chantry went up to L48.

*** A few notes about the Shard, it can be tricky getting around your first few times there. I recommend getting the Raptor Pack if you do not have Flight, so you can reveal the geysers on your minimap. If you have not fought Soldiers of Rularuu before then you may be in for a surprise, as they can get...interesting.

Minor correction to Jack's info - the Shard actually has five contacts which can provide repeatable missions - General Hammond (Rularuu, kill), Dr. Boyd (Rularuu, analyze monuments), and Lt. Volkov (Nemesis, rescue patrols) are in FBZ, and Dr. Huxley (Rularuu, gather Kora Fruit) and Lt. Col. Flynn (CoT/Nemesis, rescue/defeat) are in Mole Point Charlie in the Cascade Archipelago.

In any case, if you haven't done much in the Shard, testing your mettle against the soldiers of Rularuu is good fun even if you don't like doing TFs. They were among the original end-game butt-kickers, and have a pretty wide variety of tricks up their sleeves. You can try the repeatable missions of your choice (Kora Fruit collections are amazing sources of mid-tier inspirations, if you want to store some up in your SG base or something), or hit the Storm Palace and just sweep. You will almost never bump into other heroes when wandering around the Shard, since it's both huge and pretty unknown, so doing Storm Palace laps has an interesting sense of isolation amid the awe-inspiring ruins. I'd suggest pulling up a map of the zones from vidiotmaps.com so you know where the gravity geyser paths are, although the site may still be partially down while transferring to the new server. Once you learn how to get around on the geysers, you can get around MUCH faster than by flying from point A to point B. The Raptor Pack vendors are handy in case you slip and need to get back on solid ground.

If you'd rather do story arcs so you can earn both influence/drops AND merits, then you're limited to Ouroboros once you finish your regular contacts. You don't have to stick with just the mini-TFs from the contacts in the zone, you can go through the crystals to run any story arc in the game. You can see how well your character exemplars down, and run some of your favorite low/mid level arcs, or maybe even collect souvenirs and try and complete every arc in the game (if you are already a badgehunter to some extent, this is an alternate variant on it; if you don't care about badges or anything badge-like, then nevermind). I remember getting a few hundred merits when I was earning all of my Ouroboros challenge badges, so it's a pretty lucrative option for soloists - especially soloists that are stealthy and/or do better against a couple baddies at a time than facing off against huge hordes.

Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

I can't believe I forgot about these, and I used to run the Shard all the time. It really has been a while since I've run missions there! I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Yep - If you don't have problems with Ruluruu or travelling around, the Shard
is a great place - My E3 spent tons of time there back in the day...

The Wall in northern Cimerora is always a fun place to let off some steam. Might have to share it with other players though. Another fun place if you want a challenge is the Storm Palace, deep in the Shadow Shard.

The wall has been quite lucrative, but I found the Shard to be repetitive and frankly boring.

Any other suggestions?

Storm palace is by far my fav place to solo, although on a ma/sr scrapper. By the time you make it around it everything is respawned. Like said above though, it is tough, and probably too much for a solo blaster (maybe not though, but i faceplant blasting lol). The shard has very unique enemies you dont see anywhere else, and hardly anybody is ever there, and the tfs aren't ran alot cause they are really long and anti-climactic if you ask me. Its definatly a fun place to solo and screw around.
