  2. i usually dont rep at all, unless i felt the person was really helpful (or just being idiotic)

    but i do agree with him that the new system that they have for this is extremely nonsensical. i wouldnt waste my time going through the 400 some posts i already have to look at comments (if there are any), and i could understand this even more for the poeple that have many more posts than i do (how would you like looking through say, 1000 posts?, 5000 posts?, 10000+ posts? just to see IF you have any comments (good or bad))
  3. i personally dislike the pre-lvl 20 game (especially on VEATs, since everything they do before 24 is basically worthless because of the forced respec)

    but the pre lvl 20 game, yes it is fast, but after you do it oh say 5-10 times, its just too repetitive (i currently have 31 toons and ive deleted at least 5-10 toons, so yeah, i rarely even do the pre lvl 20 game anymore)

    another reason i hate the pre lvl 20 game is because i cant tell if i like a toon until they are in the 20s because before 20 you have very few powers to do anything with to see how the toon will play, lvls 20-30 is usually where i usually decide if i want to keep a toon or not

    another thing i hate about pre lvl 20 is that you cant get SOs until 22, so i just rather save my money instead of wasting them on TOs and DOs that do so little it almost doesnt even matter.
  4. they are considered under seperate recharge bonuses, because if you look into the combat attributes window the LOTG bonus is listed as such, while the set bonus for rech would be listed as huge rech bonus

    it still doesnt help that much overall compared to say mud pots, or even RTTC. this +taunt does nothing more than help generate fury faster since it does not apply any effects to you or the enemies when they are within range of the taunt aura.

    other poeple i know that have sr brutes say to build them like scrappers because they are the worst at holding aggro.

    yes, i stand corrected, the toggle does have a +400% taunt on target, but how i consider it useless because its an 8 ft radius and does not host any kind of effects other than the taunt, so its prolly THE worst taunt aura a brute could have and thus does little to nothing in an actual fight when you are on a team.

    from my experience playing on teams with the sr, this little taunt aura does NOTHING if im not dmging the enemies, and if someone attacks an enemy in the taunt aura, it will not hold the aggro of the enemy unless you attack them first, a pbaoe attack will hold the taunt better than this toggle will.

    edit: another quick check shows that you cant even slot taunt IO sets, you can enhance the taunt, but you cant slot more than generic enhances

    not necessary, but the extra dmg and it holds aggro fairly well so your being attacked less overall.

    if you dont like using it, its also a good IO mule for he recharge intense pet set to get the rech bonus if you want to make perma dom
  9. i have a lvl 50 sr brute and it does not have any taunt auras on it, you can get taunt from the primary set, and AoE powers, but the sr set has no taunt toggles. its exactly the same as the scrapper sr set (with minor variations on the numbers)

    Iv noticed.....

    i have a lvl 50 spine/elec scrapper on victory server, other than mine though i havent seen any others, but then again, i dont play heros as much as some poeple do

    this isnt a bug, a majority of the tfs are designed to be run at the highest lvl available (for instance the posi range is 10-15, but the enemies will always apawn at lvl 15 regardless), this same deal holds for all freedom phalanx tfs, all the villain sf's, and LGTF.

    ITF i know is one of the only ones that spawn at the lvl of the leader
  14. i think its just getting unlucky because i know ive avoided the mental scramble attack before on various toons (none of which have soft capped defense)
  15. the info that i know for a PVP IO is that there is a 1/100 chance to drop one on a rep-valid kill

    so every time you kill someone who you have not killed in the last 5 min has a 1% chance to drop a PVP IO

    in the long run, if you do always get rep-valid kills, then the other part of it is just dumb luck (similar to a purple drop)

    the mad scientist in me wants to side with aeon, but i already love watching tv (i watch tv when i play cov, and i play cov A LOT).

    i cant decide, now if something were to say, benefit me in some way, then i *might* side with them

    i can confirm that vanguard is a PITA for resistance based toons, my stone brute (who always runs in granite), and he cant handle x8 spawns very well if at all (i usually died a lot because they horribly debuffed my acc then turned to debuff my resist, and i couldnt heal fast enough at that point)

    vanguard are weak against very high defense characters and mezzing characters (doms/trollers are the 2 best things to fight vanguard due to the mass mezzing)

    as far as i know once you purchase the AE unlocks, they perma-unlock for your account, so whatever happened to you was some kind of big bug, or it just reset on you for some reason

    i think the mole machines used to spawn at AV lvls too (they have eb lvls right now and used to give boss/AV xp depending on how many people on team)

    they prolly nerfed the xp on them because they DONT fight back or do anything but can 1 shot you when they explode (ive seen them do up to 1500 dmg before at eb rank, at the av rank they would do like 3 ticks of 8000 dmg)

    but after they explode it doesnt really matter all too much since you already would have gotten any reward.

    what they should do is give them some kind of reward but make them spawn nemesis (they are supposed to be nemesis transports anyway), in small groups like the "will of the earth" thing that spawns DE but gives decent xp because it has defenders and such

    i would be agreeing with you on this, after a post or 2, i honestly did not think this was going anywhere.

    i think this whole thing is about personal preference but asking why poeple say "you shouldnt play that build", but ive mentioned a few times that it doesnt matter what other poeple think of your build

    honestly, as far as ive seen, this isnt going anywhere or what the point of the discussion is, yes its about AT differences, and ive pointed them out, and yet the argument still persists and i dont know what hes trying to prove, yes the AT differences are minor, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt make the build just because others say you shouldnt, if you want to make empath controller, then more power to you, but if someone wants to make an empath defender, then thats up to them

    the first time i did it was with a 1 full team of 8 lvl 50s, everyone wanted the badges and stuff so we waited until it hit a zone and went there ASAP, i think we had about 2-5 minutes left on the timer after we took down the last banner (it did help that several of the poeple on team were vets with assemble the team so when a banner was nearing the end, they would go off and tp team as soon as banner went down to cut travel time)
  24. i think how it is now, it will not let you create a costume piece you have already created for that toon (yes, remember costume recipies only give the costume per toon), i have toons that have gotten recipies of stuff ive already made and they will be greyed out and say "cannot create" even if you have the inf and salvage for it

    because the AT you are using DOES make a difference, controllers get containment while defenders get vigilance, containment better benefits the controller to get the overpowering mezzes and doing more dmg to mezzed enemies, the defenders vigilance gives them a huge endurance discount when on a team, so they have more freedom to slot their heals without worrying about endurance

    again, this doesnt stop anyone from using powersets that dont work superbly together, all the combos dont have to be perfect, if its your preference to use a empath controller instead of an empath defender because it makes more sense to you, then do it!, your paying your monthly fee to play how you want to play, if someone tells you otherwise, you can just disregard it or thats why you have an ignore list and the rating/note system so you can avoid poeple like that.
