Nemesis Mole Machines

Why do these things still have annoyingly-high health?

Over 5,000 health on an object that does not move or fight back is just...annoying! Even worse, you can not even drop the mission from Black Scorpion.

I understand that they were farmed and that is the reason they offer no XP or drops. However, requiring four of them to be defeated in one mission is just a frustrating exercise in button mashing for the sake of button mashing. I think it took my lvl 49 claws brute almost 5 minutes to take out one of them. Rinse, repeat, yawn....

Five whole minutes! OMG! The horror...

Yeah they are annoying and the thing that makes them REALLY annoying is no reward, that is just plain lame.

5 minutes for each one - that is 20 minutes of button mashing without any reward.

Yes, I find that excessive.

Not allowed to talk to the contact and drop the mission? (I *wish* they gave you an option to actually drop missions you've accidentally accepted so that you could pick them up later instead of passing you through it - though leave that latter once-every-three-day option in, of course, but let us drop & pick back up whenever we need to)

Five minutes is good. Usually takes me much longer. :/

Perhaps you should make yourself more acquainted with the mission.

There are four in the mission. Twenty minutes (or more, depending on what you're playing) of just sitting there, pounding away at something that doesn't fight back, has no defense, etc.

This is a "Set power to auto, go watch TV, pick next one a commercial break or two later" mission. Does that sound fun to you? Or does that sound like something that should be adjusted?

My "adjustment" is to run through a different patron's arcs, even if I'm taking the Scorpion PPP, specifically to avoid this mind-numbingly boring exercise.

Claws brute was mentioned. Fury + Endurance discount is probably why.

I seem to recall that at one point they gave insane rewards for the (trivial) effort of downing one... I guess it's just another example of adjusting with a sledgehammer.

But I agree... did that one solo on my corruptor while it was spec'd for buffing, not damage, that was not fun... (went a bit more smoothly after the first 50%. )

I consider 5 minutes an unusually long fight with a +3 boss, and there's usually some chance the boss could actually kill me, or at least run away. This is 5 minutes flailing on something that doesn't move, doesn't fight back... hell, it doesn't even have snappy lines.

And as mentioned, 5 minutes is doing good.

It's boring.

Hello,

At this time, this aspect of gameplay is functioning as intended by the Developers. Mole Machines do not grant experience when defeated.

If you would like to search for more information on this subject, or if you would like to post your thoughts for your fellow players and the Development Team to read, please feel free to do so at https://boards.cityofheroes.com or https://boards.cityofvillians.com. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

i think the mole machines used to spawn at AV lvls too (they have eb lvls right now and used to give boss/AV xp depending on how many people on team)

they prolly nerfed the xp on them because they DONT fight back or do anything but can 1 shot you when they explode (ive seen them do up to 1500 dmg before at eb rank, at the av rank they would do like 3 ticks of 8000 dmg)

but after they explode it doesnt really matter all too much since you already would have gotten any reward.

what they should do is give them some kind of reward but make them spawn nemesis (they are supposed to be nemesis transports anyway), in small groups like the "will of the earth" thing that spawns DE but gives decent xp because it has defenders and such
