Attention, Players of the Game!
Hopefully this theoretical pre-release of ultra-mode would not predate the release of GR by much.
Aeon, your proposition is intriguing. An in-depth report on the specific necessities/requirements of this 'Ultra-Mode' you speak of would be beneficial in making such a decision.
*edited to clean up post-my naturally negative vibes got smeared all over it*

'It's tempting to look at the history of Television and assume that Television was always destined for greatness. But when the personal computer first appeared, Television's success was entirely uncertain. When the first dedicated e-book readers launched, Television's hold was absolutely in question. These were times that threatened the very fabric of friendship and meaning. That threatened who we were, who we are. But despite advances in technology, despite our fear and differences, the Television remained great because we chose to support it. We now face another threat, this time not just by an entertainment commodity, but by its creator, Dr. Aeon. Aeon tells us not to watch television, not because AE is better, but through fear of the Television.'
'I know the fears that are out there. Some of them are old -- the fears that Television can't compete with the new media. Others are no older than Aeon's propaganda campaign.'
'The Television does not control minds. The Television tells stories. The Television is stories. So are you. You are all a lot of stories. Some stories come out of working your nine to five jobs. The good ones come from Television and playing CoV.'
'Aeon believes that the best way to get a new graphics technology out sooner is to berate the tech lead who is so identified with images that it is named the Television. I don't know what to make of that. What I do know is that every time you post about your friendship with the Television you affirm the importance of stories and meaning. You remind the devs that pretty pictures require stories to live. You ask for content and you tell them you don't want to wait for Going Rogue. And believe me: the devs are listening.'

I believe many of us are thinking, "What's in it for me?" I am no different.
Let the bidding for my loyalty commence!
On topic, I'm in a bit of a pickle. On one hand, I do want Ultra Mode real bad.
On the other hand, television is my friend. People should watch more television and listen to less radio. I must help television.
Television rots the brain! Never let the kids watch it.....
Humph, this all reminds me that my 8800 will not cut Ultra Mode. Must have new video card!

Still hate the visit Winscott mission- make it dropable, have it give actual exp or remove it altogether. PS- Down knows who you are.

The Television can associate with every type of person by telling stories of them, with different people you can identify with.
However, Dr. Aeon can only identify with time-travelers and crazy people...which most of us are.
Decisions...decisions...
EDIT: Gameplay>Graphics. Always and forever. Something can look really shiny and suck (not fun), or you could have a good enough time that you stop caring about the graphics. Go Television!

Oh yes, Aeon, I went there! Television told me all about your campy pitches for failed series.
I come out in full support of the Television!
What good is a shiny gloss on old stories?? No good at all I say! Only the Television can provide us with the new stories and new beloved characters (unless said stories and beloved characters are on FOX in which case we will get 1 or 2 story arcs and then they will be canceled...but I digress...) that we so desperately crave.
A re-run of a popular show in HD is still something that's been seen before!
Three cheers for the Television! I await your commands.
(Also, unless Dr. Aeon is going to buy me a new computer, his offering of ultra mode tempts me not. )
Soooo.
One faction offers Ultra Mode before Going Rogue.
The other offers new content before Going Rogue.
Whoever wins.... we lose.
(by lose I mean 'win' of course.)
If I were a betting man, I'd say this is the craziest way of announcing I17 coming out before Going Rogue. And what will it have in it? I'd say both the graphics update and new content, as teased by our battling devs. :-)
Mr Energon
Confirmed altimaniac.
oh, and I have to support Television, if only because we have a special relationship.
Where on earth did you get that impression? Or are you one of those who see the worst naturally?

The whole thing of GR coming out after the ultra-mode update. It makes me wonder if the graphic update has been completed, whilst the rest needs more time.
If the devs wanted the whole thing packaged in one nice bundle, but found the time would mean what isn't ready would delay what is, then they may release the ready stuff. Making me ponder what isn't. Sorry, yes, I'm a dreary person like that. My apologies, but it was what came to mind.
Sorry Aeon, but the Television is way too cool for me to support you.

go TV!
TV FOR LIFE YOU GUYS.
I, Dr. Aeon, come to you today to make a declaration.
For far too long, Television has held sway on the players of this game. It spouts slander of me, Dr. Aeon, and proceeds to lure the people of this great game into a false sense of security. It makes you feel happy, makes you feel delightful - all just a trick, I tell you! Television seeks to control your very minds! Would I, Dr. Aeon, dare to trick you like that?
My attempts to warn you all of Television's actions have gone, for the most part, unheeded, save for my two Aeon Dream Teams from Liberty and Freedom. They have been fighting the good fight, but they are far outnumbered. Which is why I must make this bold step.
Today, I shall begin a war of PROPAGANDA against Television!
But I cannot do this alone, dear forumites. I need your support!
Those of you may ask, "But Dr. Aeon, why should we support you?"
Firstly, why would you ask that question? Do you truly need a reason to support the great Dr. Aeon?
Secondly, I will give you a reason. Support me in this war on Television, and I shall get you Ultra Mode BEFORE Going Rogue!
Yes, take a moment to bask in that knowledge. Good to go? Excellent.
Now, some people may point out that I, Dr. Aeon, being in charge of Mission Architect as well as being one of the game's content writers, have no real authority in whether or not Ultra Mode is released before Going Rogue and in fact have nothing to do with Ultra Mode.
However, I am NOT a man to let such things as "facts" get in the way of recruiting more people to my cause!
So, forumites! Begin your postings against Television! Raise the flags of war! Spread the word against Television!
We shall wage this war until the end of Monday, February 8th!
If you do not do this for me, do it to get your precious Ultra Mode in before Going Rogue!
