Selling Costume Pieces

I was at the Wentworth's Market and put together an invention enhancement for "Winged Boots". My intentions were to sell this in the market after I crafted it. Well, after I crafted it, the message appeared and said "new costume piece available". I didn't have it available to sell as it gave it to me instead for my personal use.

So what I need to know is if you don't own that costume piece, does it always default to you first for your personal costume piece? Second, if you already "have" that costume piece, does it then go to your tray to sell in the market? This is the first time I've tried to sell Costume Pieces so not sure what kind of strategy you need to do so?

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

I've never seen one for sale, crafted, on the market. But I have no idea what would happen if you crafted a second. Probably just be out the cash.

Crafting costume pieces never creates a salable object. What it does is allow access to that costume piece at the tailor, on a per character basis. In fact, once you have crafted a particular costume piece on a particular character, you actually won't be able to craft that same costume piece on that same character a second time -- the game prevents it, because it would be a waste of inf and salvage.

In summary: it's impossible to sell crafted costume pieces. Sell the recipe instead.

Crafting a power or recipe applies it to your character. You can't sell a crafted item (when it is a power or costume) on the CH. They cannot be traded either.

If you already have the costume or power on that character, none of the ingredients will be consumed.

Sell the Recipe and include the Ingredients! What a bargain!

Hmmm, so when I did view the inventory at Wentworth's, it did show some being sold as I believe as recipes. One Wing Boot Costume Piece was selling for 100K of influence. I guess the thing I need to try and figure out is "how" to get my costume piece into that recipe area. Normally in the past, I would just craft it then drop it in the Wentworth's tray, but if it's a recipe, how is that done as there is nothing to drop?

i think how it is now, it will not let you create a costume piece you have already created for that toon (yes, remember costume recipies only give the costume per toon), i have toons that have gotten recipies of stuff ive already made and they will be greyed out and say "cannot create" even if you have the inf and salvage for it

items listed in wentworths and the black market as "costume pieces" are actually the recipe's to make the costume pieces, not the actual crafted pieces themselves. you will still need to aquire the salvage/inf and craft them in order to have the costume piece available for your character.

Recipes can be added to WW/BM for sale the exact same way as enhancements, just drag them from the recipe window into a sale slot.

once again, as stated in posts above... you cannot sell costume pieces or temporary powers that have already been crafted on the market

Actually, it would have shown *ALL* of them as recipes. There is no other way a costume part can appear in Wentworth's. You would just drag and drop the recipe into the WW window, just like any other recipe.

What you need to do it open your recipe window, and drag the recipe directly from that window into an empty WW slot.
