Everything about Celestial is glowy. I can tell everytime I see pictures on the forum. Unfortunately, not so much on my system.

Just a few minor ones. You will hardly notice.
  3. I want to emphasize what GavinRuneblade said about teaming. The game is balanced on SOs, except for the Incarnate stuff you can't do, and you can play it just fine and contribute to teams without ever slotting one. Actually there are quite a few people that do Incarnate stuff on characters with SOs slotted, it is just a bit more difficult for them.

One source of IOs you will have is the alignment missions. If you want to, starting at level 20, you can get either a Hero or Villain Merit every 2 days. You can turn them in at special traders for various Set IOs. It only costs a couple of the Merits for some very nice IOs and it is much cheaper and easier than buying them on the market.

Personally, while I have seen several people complain about the names of the SOs for the different origins, I have never had a problem with it. I never pay attention to the names, I look at the colors. If it is yellow, it is accuracy. Red is damage, orange is holds, etc. I can't tell you what the name of the color is for range SOs but I know what it is when I see it. And you can always just hover your cursor over it if you aren't sure.

And the easiest way to buy them once you are level 35 is pop over to RWZ and pick them up there. All origins are for sale and they actually give you the best price for selling ones you don't want.
  4. For your first question, apparently when going from Premium to VIP, instead of unlocking your characters automatically, they give you 12 server unlocks for each server you visited while a Premium member.

IOW if you are a Premium and go to Virtue, all your characters are locked unless you use a Global unlock on them. When you go back to VIP and go to Virtue, there should be 12 server unlocks to use on that server to unlock the 12 slots that all VIPs get. So you would end up with the Globals + the 12 servers on Virtue. If you didn't visit your characters on Justice while a Premium, they were never locked on that server, so you will not get any server unlocks for them.

For your second, the Paragon Reward Tokens are apparently awarded at the end of each month of your subscription, so you should get one at the end of the month, then another at the end of your second. The Paragon Points should be (from what I understan) awarded at the start of each month of your subscription, so you should get 400 right away. Some people have reported immediate payment, others take a little bit.

They are working on awarding all Reward Tokens for a multi-month subscription at the beginning of that subscription period, but that is not working as intended at the moment, so it is once per month.

During the I21 Beta, they used a bot program for a stress test. They had over 50 Atlas Parks full, and had all the bots spam the chat server at once. IOW, a massive stress test. More than the servers are ever likely to take at once in Live. But still not able to replicate a Monday Mothership raid on Virtue where we regularly make the server lag. (And my screen turns into a slide show even on minimum settings.) Running bot programs gives them valuable information, but it is still not enough compared to what can happen on live, with live people using their powers in different ways, in different combinations, with different colors even.

I can't begin to guess anything about the database stuff, I have no experience with it, but during one of the recent marathon Ustreams one of the Devs, I think it was Beastyle but won't swear to it, said there are 5 or 6 programming languages used in the game at this point. Including Visual Basic.

Heck, I’m lucky to get 5 hours of playtime in a week.
For Alpha, I have a T3 Musculature (working on T4 from just shard drops) and a T4 Cardiac I use on trials. The Cardiac is because of the resistance, not the end. My solo build tank is kind of squishy in the trials. When I finally get his trial build done, I will be re-visiting what to use there.

Interface I have a T2 Diamagnetic, probably going to choose the 50% ToHit/100% regen debuff T4. The highest DPS is the Reactive fire, I may start on one of those for trials when I have the Diamagnetic is done.

Lore I went with the Robotic Drones, just because they fit my tech background better. Will probably try some of the others like the Warworks later.

Judgement is a T4 Cryonic, for concept reasons. I will probably work on a Void for variety because of the PBAoE.

Destiny is a T3 Rebirth. Haven't decided which one to start on after I get it to T4.

I play casually, and probably only do 4 or 5 trials a week, on average. Some weeks none, other times 4 or 5 in a night. And I have only been working on my Incarnate stuff for the last few months. So it doesn't really take much time to start building it up. On the Alphas, once I got the T4 I started only using shard drops to build up the Musculature. I save my threads for the stuff that can only be done that way. So I won't get a T4 soon, but it will happen and I can work on it just doing Tips or regular TFs.

Nothing wrong with it, it just means basically starting over. Probably with my villain that is going to go all the way to Vigilante. But he doesn't even have 200. I guess I need to start him in Ouro on those badges and getting salvage for the Invention badges.

Back at the entrance, when you are facing the door, turn left and there is a door there that opens. There is a bit to get through to the actual exit from there.

I claimed a vet tailor token and got to 101, so any limit is higher than 100.

    i am glad for /ignore
While the Ignore as Spammer selection was primarily put in to deal with RMT spam, it is appropriate to use it for other instances of spam on a channel, especially in Help.

How about, they actually have you level up and pick a new power in the tutorial? Not tell you to see a trainer (And I have seen people fresh from the old tutorial ask where Ms. Liberty (Miss Liberty is her mother.) is ), you have to do it before you can get to the final fight.

However, as I found out by asking the forums throughout the day, he wasn't able, so that plan was shot.
He should be able to get his password from Customer Support, or they could reset it for him. If it was subscribed for any length of time, he may have more Reward Tokens on it.

The Sewer trial is open to everyone. Make sure he is selecting the Death From Below Trial on the first tab. If he chooses First Available it won't let him because that includes the Incarnate trials, which he can't do.

I did see a report on Virtue's Help channel the other night from a free player that couldn't get it to work, but I don't know if he was doing it correctly, and he had originally tried to join while in a mission, which may have messed it up.

This is what will keep me from getting all the badges on my main character. I have slowly worked on getting them over the years, not farming, just trying to get them. And now I can't get them all because the character is a hardcore hero. I ran one Vigilante mission for that badge and it felt dirty. Which means starting over on a different character and the next highest to my main's 870 only has 218. I just don't know if I can handle the Invention badges again.

It's $5 or applying a retail code to get /tell (and /sg, and a couple of others). It's $45 or 3 month subscription to get access to ALL channels, globals included.

Premiums are grandfathered in: if they've subscribed a total of 3 months at any time, they have access to all chat channels. All Premiums (meaning all returning players) have by definition applied a retail code so they all have access to at least /tell.

(Whew! I think I got it finally.)
Almost. For Free players, if they spend $30 they will have enough tokens for all channels. 1 for the first purchase of any points (everybody gets this, even if you only buy $5 in points.) then 1 for each 1200 points they buy. (Note that a $15 purchase actually gets them 1320 points, and the extra 120 bonus points count toward another Reward token.)
  19. I think the 2 in Talos, for the Protean and PPD arcs introduce for level 50s also, but they immediately go to your inactive tab.

    Purple IOs

They are for very high end builds, and for very high end builds sometimes they are exactly wrong. Good luck.
I love them too. Because they are worth a fortune on the market. The Trial build I am slowly working on (I am in no rush because my solo build can handle trials, I just die occasionally. Besides, I keep hoping Synapse can figure out a way to get those 3 slots in.) has 1 Purple set in it. And that is because I had 2 Armageddons drop. Still not sure I will use them, some of the other PBAoE sets would actually be nicer if I could come up with 1 more slot.
  21. I don't know if this will help, but I had this same problem for several months earlier this year. I went through all kinds of things with tech support, before they finally sent me this:

If you find a "CoX" folder, delete it and try running the game again.
Once I did that, I was able to run the game again. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can cause this problem (because I tried lots of things to fix it) so this probably won't work. But it is an option.

Yes it is true. Any of the IOs you buy in the market work with or without the Invention system. They really aren't stupid enough to sell something to people that can't use it.

The problem with us making reasonable compromises is the Standard Code Rant. None of us have seen the code, none of us have worked on it, and none of us have any idea how much work it would take to make it happen. And it may not be possible at all.

I don't believe that the Devs worked on this stuff for over a year and never considered the stuff brought up in these threads. For most of it, they probably looked at different options and chose the easiest. Not because they are lazy, but because their time is limited and there were things that had to be done, like designing and creating the Market, the Reward system, new arcs, new costumes, new zones, etc.

When it came to something like the Invention system, they may or may not be able to just turn off the set bonuses. But if it is possible, they had to trade off the time doing something like that would take against all the other stuff the programmers absolutely needed to do. The fact that we think it would be a reasonable compromise means absolutely nothing.

I'm not sure how people could miss this- unless they incorrectly assume that it's a once-only part of the tutorial or something they won't have to worry about in the rest of the game for some time. (Since you need to defeat enemies, in theory they should also have a pretty good understanding how targeting enemies and using powers work before they can escape the tutorial.)
Unfortunately, some people don't bother reading even the little bit that there is in the new tutorial. Had someone the other night in Virtue Help asking how he got more powers. Which is one of the few things the tutorial actually covers better than the old one.
