Incarnate help for a returning player
Ion Judgement is the gold standard for AoE damagge.
Pyronic is an alternative choice for a slightly more single target focus.
Void is considered good for tanking because if the -Damage effects.
Cryonic is usually avoided except for concept.
With Reactive, side with the DoT effects; they add more damage to your attacks than the -Res does.
Alpha: Many people advocate Spiritual for Tankers, and it's true Musculature only adds maybe 10% more damage to your attacks, but consider this:
Alpha boosts affect your other Incarnate powers as well, not just your build. Musculature will make your Judgement powers and Lore pets do more damage. Spiritual will boost the healing and regen power of Rebirth Destiny.
Destiny: Barrier is a popular choice, but no, the defense will not be wasted because in Incarnate content the enemies have a greater +ToHit and chews up and spits out SDs.
Rebirth is actually insanely good for 90% of the game's content when paired with a defense based set like SD. Ageless isn't that attractive if you don't have any end problems, but if you're building and slotting with an Incarnate in mind, it'll let you run toggles you wouldn't normally be able to take. Clarion is a power the devs are going to be forcing Tankers and other melee ATs to get; on the UG trial the Elite Bosses can and will stack enough stun to break through mez protection and expect more annoying mechanics like the UG's Confuse effects in the future.
Lore: Warworks are the go-to pet for raw single target damage, as were the Cimerorans, IIRC. Beyond that, IMO none of the pets seriously distinguish themselves enough to warrant picking for reasons other than concept. I supposed the support tree of the Seers could come in handy for people who like to kite-tank with Hover, considering they can fly and heal.
.
Alpha: Cardiac is good, but I dont really have too much in the way of end problems. Spiritual is nice to the recharge and healing, but I dont build for crazy recharge, so not sure if thats really necessary. Musculature seems good, who doesnt like more damage, but it seems to only add like 10 damage a hit when I add it in MIDS.

You may want to look at what you're getting in secondary and tertiary boosts from more advanced Alphas. Those could be the deal-makers. Like Spiritual adds Healing, +ToHit, Disorient, Slow, and Jump as additional effects at higher levels.
Destiny: Barrier might be good to up my Res, since that is Shields big weakness, but the defense would really be wasted. Rebirth is good for healing/regen, which I dont have a ton of, but I have SL, so do I really need healing? Clarion might be useful for the UG or something, but I dont really get statused up. Ageless, meh, End and Recharge, good to have but not a must have. |
Lore: Wow, the choices, completely lost here . |
What do you guys run, what opinions do you have on the various abilities. The obvious answer is to just make a ton of everything so I can decide for myself, but I have limited playtime with my new baby, so I cant run 5+ trials a night 7 nights a week. Heck, Im lucky to get 5 hours of playtime in a week. Thanks! |
Pyronic Judgement
Reactive Interface
Barrier Destiny (With a lower-level Rebirth and/or Clarion that I can swap in.)
Warworks Lore

Interface I have a T2 Diamagnetic, probably going to choose the 50% ToHit/100% regen debuff T4. The highest DPS is the Reactive fire, I may start on one of those for trials when I have the Diamagnetic is done.
Lore I went with the Robotic Drones, just because they fit my tech background better. Will probably try some of the others like the Warworks later.
Judgement is a T4 Cryonic, for concept reasons. I will probably work on a Void for variety because of the PBAoE.
Destiny is a T3 Rebirth. Haven't decided which one to start on after I get it to T4.
I play casually, and probably only do 4 or 5 trials a week, on average. Some weeks none, other times 4 or 5 in a night. And I have only been working on my Incarnate stuff for the last few months. So it doesn't really take much time to start building it up. On the Alphas, once I got the T4 I started only using shard drops to build up the Musculature. I save my threads for the stuff that can only be done that way. So I won't get a T4 soon, but it will happen and I can work on it just doing Tips or regular TFs.

Hmmm....
Here is my planned build if it helps lead people down a certain path. I really can't go the "build everything" route, so the options that would help for the majority of situations would be best.

Hello Tankers!
Im levelling up my SD/DM Tanker, and getting fairly close to being able to start the incarnate trials and all that entails. However, Im kinda at a loss for what to get. Somethings are easy choices:
Ion judgement: for a different attack type, and # of guys it can hit.
Reactive Interface: for Res debuff and more DPS from DoTs
But the other three Im at a loss.
Destiny: Barrier might be good to up my Res, since that is Shields big weakness, but the defense would really be wasted.
