  1. Just makes me sad that so many people apparently don't play with map open in a small window stuck to the top left or right of the screen, haha. I've had to reply to at least five people asking me where Scirocco was by the answer "Press M to view your map".
  2. Some people just won't be happy until they have an option to blow up the world which auto-deletes their character due to their character being permanently dead in the CoX universe.

I believe the point of the Longbow Cataphract being brought up was that it's the "Boss" damage pet which can debuff while damaging opponents. Longbow Nullifier doesn't get sonic grenades though, haha.

For strictly range Lore Pets, bear in mind pet AI is currently borked which has a high chance of forcing any pets to go into melee range regardless of having melee attacks or not, and it's not likely going to be fixed any time soon.

Still, with this in mind, your choices might be a little limited.

Your current pick, IDF, the Boss is generally melee with one range, while the Lieutenant has two ranged attacks (and that's it). You could stick with your theme of powersets and go with Phantoms if you wanted, haha.

For completely ranged, Longbow, Robotic Drones, Polar Lights, Seers and Clockwork have nothing but range/aoe/cones. Of these choices, Longbow leads the pack, though Arbiter Hawk did mention the pets were rebalanced a bit in the release of 20.5 to live, which was after the DPS tables by Deus_Otiosus were put up, possibly making them slightly inaccurate.
  4. Sometimes, your luck varies. From my rolling with 7 different PvP recipes into a Gladiator's Armor 3% def (none of the original recipes were Gladiator's Armor), the shortest one took 4 converters, which was two rolls (one to get to Gladiator's Armor, one to get to 3% def), while the longest took 25 converters (I lost count of how many rolls :3).

Remember to factor in reward merit and inf cost of converters along with the cheap recipe to convert towards the balance of outright buying the recipe itself though.

Does anyone know the soundfile name for the wolves howl? Going to put in a blank wav file so that I don't have to hear it constantly. Also the filename for the barking in Beast MM?

    Thanks
Replace them with meowing sounds and get all confused when you see your big tough shadow wolf meowing like a kitten!

So in a 35 min span you can have the T4 Core twice or the T4 Radial 3 times. If you have a high personal DPS, then 15 minutes of the right kind of buff may be better overall that an LT.

But the T4 Radial Boss only lasts for 3 min and 20 seconds. So you only get the Boss for a total of 10 min either way. My experience running solo is that in most of the fights where I need or want Lore help the LT class pet gets burned down very quickly, and a lot of fights are over in less than 3 minutes, so I tend to take a T4 Radial as my everyday Lore slot.

    Just an alternative idea.

Remember T4 Core Pets also get 30% Damage bonus, which the T4 Radial Pet won't get.

It's probably worth re-evaluating Lore pet DPS rankings if what you're interested in is maximum DPS performance.
If I remember though, the table which is there was done with only Cardiac Core Paragon slotted to get an idea of base values, so no interface was included.

Still, the patch is nice, my Robotic Drones can activate Interface again. You mentioned some didn't benefit from Alpha slots. If I remember from my thread about Lore Pets not triggering Interface, Carnies, Robotic Drones, and Storm Elementals were there. Did they also not benefit from Alpha as well?

The balance pass is another thing to consider.... Deus_Otiosu, I hope you're looking at this thread. XD

Also - have you thought about giving some of the Lore Pets more attacks so they're more competitive with Cimerorans (where the Boss pet has five attacks, and the lieutenant has four attacks)? It would help their attack chains a little, I think.

Scratch that, when inside buildings in the 'main room' with the HD, if you summon new henchmen, they will attempt to run outside the room to engage the IDF in the corridors. Ugh!
  9. I've ran into a few concept Tankers without Taunt in itrials. It's kinda funny seeing the leader tell them to pull Siege/Nightstar/Penny/GM bosses to specific areas only for them being unable to do it and when the leader's about to get frustrated thinking they're deliberately refusing to pay attention/follow requests, a Brute or Scrapper or second Tanker who wasn't the 'main' realizes the main Tanker is unable to pull them since they don't have Taunt and has to take over, haha.

All of my 'Paragon Protector' Brutes and Scrappers took Fly for concept reasons, but it's almost a moot point since I don't mind Fly's slow speed in comparison to other faster travel powers.

Regarding not using incarnate powers in itrials, almost nobody will care, as long as you still have your level shifts, which is the main thing allowing you to fight more efficiently. If you choose to deliberately never build up your shifts or unslot them so you'll always be a straight 50, please don't join a team for Dilemma Diabolique Trial. :3 The same goes for Apex or Tin Mage and unslotting/not having any Alpha because it doesn't fit your concept. XD
  10. My idea is:

Confront - higher magnitude than Tanker taunt, but is balanced by only being able to affect one target. If it's applied to a new target, the old target can be 'stolen' by other taunts. This allows a Scrapper to take specific targets out of mobs which are being taunted.

Is it almost worthless? Yes... XD

Seriously speaking, even though I like Stalkers, the idea of them using the crit system, and in a better way (they get flat rate of 10% chance to crit enemies before teammates and Assassin's Focus comes into play) is kind of jerking the Scrapper's chain a little, haha. Bumping the critical rate is no good since it would make them unbalanced, since they're already a top-tier AT - not to mention enemies which use the critical system such as Cimerorans and Warworks Victorias. So any change can't be too great.
  11. It's not really much of a problem even if Assassin's Strike misses, since they bumped up the damage out of hide from moderate to superior. That's a ton of damage even if it doesn't critical.

And then each stack is 33.3% chance of critical which is already great, you could choose to chance your luck with just one or two instead of having to hit three times before using AS. If you miss, just roll again.
  12. Adding to this is the Tin Mage TF - Mastermind Pets will attempt to engage Neuron and Bobcat on their own once the two have spawned. So it's not just trials now, but possibly something to do with their AI (again).

    Kill the genie.

Shivans can generally solo any EB (being EBs themselves), if you support them a little. If I remember right, MMs are able to feed Shivans inspirations? If this is the case, get shivans and a couple of emerges, and bob's your uncle.

If not, have the Shivan anyway and have it lead (since it has a boatload of health) by summoning it behind Serafina but right next to her so she turns around - and then have your henchmen attack from the opposite side. Meanwhile, buff up the Shivan with your secondary.
  14. From what I remember of them, they have no regen, and don't give rewards, and have AV-level HP even with AVs turned off. It's been like this from at least issue 10.

I think this is actually working as intended if it's been this long and left unchecked.

  16. Traps don't recognize the Spines as enemies either.
  17. I can say my Thugs/Dark pets are bugged as well. Even on Passive/Stay on the slope in front of Marauder, my thugs will attempt to charge Marauder's group.

In BAF, on tennis court waiting for Nightstar or Siege - pets will try to engage either AV regardless of distance or MM controls.

    Keyes appears to be fine.

TPN appears to be okay as well.

  19. For me, I found getting around 47% is better. That way, a small purple with 12.5% def pushes you just over 59% for incarnate stuff.

Of course, if you have paragon reward which increases the strength of inspirations, you might want to pick different numbers, but it's up to you.

That, and depends on how you slotted yourself, along with Miracle, Numina, Performance Shifter, Recovery set bonuses, accolades... :3

As long as you don't purposely bork yourself in getting specific set bonuses, any build should potentially be able to make do without Body Mastery.

    Except Dark Armor, of course.

    (just kidding)

Diabolique, Mother Mayhem, Malaise and Penelope Yin (as Penelope Mayhem) have already showcased being bigger than normal, haha.

It's going to be weird if the devs continue on with this idea - we'll be fighting a Praetorian version of Statesman who's maybe 6'2" on character creation scale, but Tyrant will probably be 20 feet tall.
  22. I went from "omg it's Blue Steel" to "what" when he fell in five seconds to a team of ice/energy and fire/energy blasters and an ice/empath controller.

Seriously, make enemy signature Heroes and Archvillains their status again instead of permanent Elite Bosses in Dark Astoria. The difficulty setting is there for people who don't want to fight Heroes and AVs anyway.

Regarding allied Heroes and Archvillains having Boss-class HP, however, is nothing new - it's been done a lot of times for balance, which is very reasonable. Black Scorpion in Mender Silo's Strike Force, however, needs to be bumped up from having Pet-class HP to Boss-class HP. :3

Thing is, they don't. The procs in store specifically have the wording "fires roughly X times per minute". This was why I thought they were initially inferior to crafted versions.

It's just weird how much they differ, haha. Fast recharging power? Stick a crafted one. Long recharge? Stick a store one. AoE? Uh... your guess is as good as mine.

Well, if they do show up, then dismiss or release command should work. I wouldn't know, since I've not got a Dark Control character, haha.
