My blaster will have blue pom poms of pwnage. I'm going to keep the blasts blue, but make them a different shade of blue.
My rad/rad defender is going to have red EVERYTHING. Red rad blasts, red rad debuffs, red AM, etc.
My fire/nrg tanker is going to have orange pom poms of pwnage.
If they are going to allow customizing martial arts, I'm going to try to make my scrapper's martial arts attacks look as close to 'Ong Bak Muy Thai' as possible.
If we'll be able to change how superspeed looks, I might just start taking it. -

The fact that you don't have a power that has all of those aspects doesn't mean the enhancement is only enhancing one aspect.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. And there are powers that enhance more than one: Accelerate Metabolism and Speed Boost take UT IOs and enhance both Run and Fly Speed.

Elude takes blessings of the zephyr. It also ehances run/fly speed while active. -

Admittedly, after the initial changes and seeing the impact on my therm I really had no desire to play my emp (the server died anyway, so I wouldn't have had anyone to buff!).
Sure, I've killed my fair share of people since the changes, but I don't always take note of their powersets and I don't know whether they were any good before the changes, so I'm not going to go all Raven and claim I have definitive proof one way or the other.
I've played an emp enough to know that running for my life was critical to my survival (don't mislead yourself into thinking I was not highly "skilled" in the fine art of evasion simply because I feel folks overstate the amount of skill involved in evading enemies). I'd be absolutely shocked if the consensus among empathy players is that the increased travel suppression, heal decay, and phase changes have made survival easier for an emp.
If it's easier to kill the emp, which it undoubtedly is, then blasters would have needed a considerable buff to keep that duo's performance on par with what it used to be. Are blasters so much better now that it outweighs the nerf to their emp teammate? Not from what I've seen. The reduced healing/buffing support combined with increased suppression and the phase changes make blasters easier to kill than they were before.
Sorry, ConFlict, I know you answered my question with a question because actually answering my question would either prove yourself wrong or ignorant.
Maybe it's you who haven't tried to kill a lot of emps in the new system? Or, did you not try in the old system?

Good points.

I hear ya. Last night i decided to join a 52 AE farm in Atlas because it was late and no TF or stuff was going on... I figured i could make some quick tickets with that team until i started reviewing the team composition:
- A level 44 rad/rad defender with no Radiation Infection, no Enervating Field and no Lingering Radiation.
- A level 28 invul/ss tanker with no Unyielding.
- A level 20 BS/Shield scrapper with Jump Kick and Acrobatics.
- A level 33 Archery/Device blaster who kept complaining about RoA saying it sucked because he couldnt obliterate a pack of 52 bosses with it...
- Add other oddities i noticed but do not remember enough to type here...
Well, i said nothing, NOTHING at all. Im done being patient and polite with players that seem clueless ( even on Virtue which isnt looking like the Virtue server i remember ). I simply clicked Quit Team mid-mission. I was done with them.

Bummer...I stopped doing AE Boss Mishes for the same reason. -

I know somewhere small NCSOFT can start:
Adjust Superior Invisibility so it actually gives the +1000ft bonus it says it should give to the controller. WTF. It should be better than hide if going by the power's description. I think illusion trollers deserve it.

I totally agree. Superior Invisibility should be superior to all other forms of -Per. -

But I have two Earthies at 50 and to be honest, if I didn't love variety so much, I'd have one of each secondary. It's taken all my willpower to not roll an Earth/Storm especially given my love for /storm too.

Oh roll an earth/storm. You know you want to. DO IT! DO IT! hehehe. -

No really, and I'm not just saying this because I mostly play self interested villains...
Or because I'm greedy...
Or because I want more people to shoot at...
It's really a finely balanced mixture of all three.
And I know some of this has been said before, I just haven't seen it recently.
Here's the plan: We have PvP IOs. Right now they have a chance to drop off every PvP kill. That's great, there's nothing wrong with that, but I think there's a better way.
We already have merit systems in the game. We even have a PvP merit style system. it's functioning smoothly, though anemically, in Siren's call. Lets expand the system.
I'm all for new PvP zones, zone revamps and all manner of such things whereby we get capture the flag, king of the hill and so on, but here are some very simple changes that could fill those pvp zones and arenas with all kinds of players NOW.
It's based on the simple truth: PvP IOS are GOOD. People want them.
Allow players to purchase them, or at least random rolls for them with PvP merits. Call it bounty, call it whatever you want.
Bounty for killing players (instead of a random drop chance) This could potentially vary with rep delta or some such.
Extra bounty for killing designated players in Sirens.
Bounty for capturning a pillbox in RV (maybe only from the PvE turrets to prevent excessive gaming)
Bounty for killing AVs in RV
Bounty for rescuing scientists in warburg
Bounty for winning a rated arena match with a given minimum duration (repeated match rewards decay over time if fought against an identical team)
Substantial bounty for winning a weekly arena tourney...
Bounty for defeating turrets in bloody bay, for having a faction WIN in Sirens or RV...
Is it going to see some abuse? yes some, there will be farmers, but making the system LESS farmable than AE is a pretty trivial task no?
How easy would this be to do? I'm sure it would be time consuming, but I'm also pretty sure it'd be a whole lot LESS time consuming than I13 was.
[/ QUOTE ]
From what I can tell, the players that get the MOST PVP IO drops are stalkers.
So stalkers get more powerful, make more kills over time, thus getting more IO drops.
What really needs to happen is the reverse. Players should get PvP IOs so they can fight against stalkers better.
The reason a lot of people don't pvp is simple...players frilling HATE stalkers. Heck some villains don't even like stalkers. I still haven't made a stalker and I don't plan on EVER making one, I find doms much more fun.
But that being said, the drop rate for PvP IOs needs to be increased. They are far too rare and expensive at the moment. They also need to be available at the merit vendors too.
But your ideas are nifty, I like 'em. -
What about when the leader goes AFK inside a TF mission?
We had that happen on a positron once. We finished the mish before the final substation mish. We call came out, except the leader. We think he fell asleep at the keyboard. Called a GM, they couldn't do anything. So after waiting 15 min or so for the leader (who never did come out), we disbanded. On a faster TF it wouldn't have been a problem. But on something like Positron or Dr. Quarterfield...that's a REAL Painful way for a TF to end.
As a result...I haven't done a TF since. -
[ QUOTE ]
If they allow you to keep your stuff when switching sides but they dont merge markets I definately will be moving tons of villains blueside especially my stalkers. I will end up farming the hell out of positron TF just so I can have recipes and enhancements to take back to the other side when I switch again.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not ever going to team with or invite to team any stalkers, ever. -
I remember dropping Divine one time with my empathy defender in RV.
Total Focus FTW...Down goes Frazier! -
I was on a mish one time with a stone/SS tanker, level 28. I was wondering why I kept dying so I looked at his build.
He took hurdle but didn't have any other fitness power, nor did he have his taunt yet.
So I mentioned, "dude...you know hurdle doesn't work with granite armor right?"
Needless to say, the entire mish was a complete failure and he quit the team.
I don't remember the exact build, but I do remember it was the worst tanker build I had ever seen.
He looked like he had been PL'ed, since he really didn't know what he was doing during the mish. -

all it takes is a competent stalker or two i druel when i see a low hp hyber, you can almost anticipate the break out.

Although stalkers like to drool, most aren't competent...and that goes for the 'big talkers' on the boards too. They aren't as think as you tough they are to defeat. -

Sure...the next time you log on with Soul-Trapped...take notes when bluesting rings you up in RV. I wouldn't say I'm a 'pro' by any stretch...but I had a good night last night. -

First and foremost any of you flaming can pretty much kiss my shield wielding [censored]. I didnt make this post to be flamed or to be insulted. Just because Ive been PvPing a few months doesnt make it alright to say "you are a n00b" Ive PvPed in other games not just this one. So you can go blow that smoke up someone elses [censored].
Ive killed my fair share of stalkers, brutes, doms, etc. This is why the PvP community sucks as it is. People who flat out think they can insult people and then wonder why no one comes to play with them in PvP. Who'd wanna play with a jackass who has 0 respect for anyone elses views.
The stuff Im talkin about prolly will never be changed. OK so be it, but it still doesnt mean that the community as a whole couldnt address the issue and it sure as hell doesnt give you the right to mock and insult me for having my personal opinion. "Ohh he said somethin about my power, GET HIM!" Screw off.
Sorry guess Im just not in your league of "Uberness" and I refuse to sink to it. I play on the level. Obviously you dont, and thats why PvP is in the state that its in now.
Hell sorry for tryin to have a intelligent conversation with morons. This is my last post on the PvP forums due to the A-holes in here, but you can be damn sure I'll be seeing you in RV. Oh and be sure to list your name if you play on freedom just so I can shove those rude and senseless comments right back down your throat.

HAHAHAHAHAHA
That is the FUNNIEST rant I've ever read...GO BEE!!!
The thing about it...YOU'RE RIGHT!!!
There are alot of @$$hats in PvP and they all think they are 'the PWNZ'. A certain 'heavenly' stalker player (noob), an arrogant japanese scrapper player (noob), an irish-numbscull player (noob), and the others are all like this (noobs)...beating them in PvP is fun, like when my blaster went 23-7 last night in RV. Why? Because when they win, they talk trash...but when they LOSE, they log off...hehehe, wieners.
If ya ever need a hero SG on Freedom, lemme know, you can join mine. The Enforcers of Paragon is an anti-stalker Zone PvP SG. -

Hey, for anyone who cares, I went ahead and made both! I just couldn't decide and I liked too many of the costumes that only worked on one powerset.
Scraps of Time (DB/WP) and Scraps in Time (BS/SD). You can find me on the Pinnacle server running around without any extra costumes for now. As it stands, *** is an Egyptian with dual Khopesh, and SiT is a celtic warrior with kilt, battle paint, targe and flamberge.
I'd like to thank everyone again for the helpful advice and even some costume ideas.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good luck with your scrappers, they sound like a lot of fun with a good concept. -
I think I've found the silliest thread in the entire site.
OP: That 'guy' ain't holdin' no 'hair dryer' its actually a hammer shooting out a bolt of energy (look a bit closer). Although, I think the hair dryer statement is hilarious.
I wish lightning storm would last after my controller dies as well...oh well. A lot of regen scrappers want their I-4 regen back as well. And fire tankers want their old dumpster diving taunt and map herding capabilities back too I bet. Can't have everything.
My suggestion: eat a BF when you do your thing...you won't get stunned and beat down that way, and you also won't have to wait 6 months for the devs to 'fix your bug'.
What a silly thread. -
Ha!
My blaster got a kill ratio of 23:7 last night. If someone phase or iced up...I moved on to the next guy. Almost had that brute too, we were both 1 attack away from defeat, and he got his in first.
Strategy/Lack of strategy...who cares...I just happen to play an nrg/nrg blaster with fly/hover/AS, fitness, and hasten...and that's it...no APP and no armor, muhahahaha and I PWN villains. Sure I get killed a lot too, but then, I don't play to 'not to lose' I play to put targets down until I die.
That's why I get killed a lot.
But I also have emptied the entire bus station and left bits and pieces of villains covering the walls.
I have also wiped out the entire villain camp outside the hero base too...MMs and all. I find MMs very easy to defeat on my blaster. And the Aim+BU+Nova 'death from above' drop is a lot of fun. -

Hate to break it to ya, but Ice Armor wasn't seen as the king of aggro because of Icicles. It was seen that way because of Chilling Embrace: an auto-hit, triple debuff aggro aura. Blazing Aura, for a long time, was seen as one of the weaker auras, because it had no auto-hit component. If you missed, then you didn't get aggro.
[/ QUOTE ]
I hate Blazing Aura...mainly because of the end rate. -

Kheldians Teamed >> VEATS >> Kheldians Solo.
It's that simple. Teamed up on an 8-man, kheldians are the most powerful AT in the game PERIOD. Solo, they aren't much more powerful than defenders.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whaa...usually I'm a huge booster of Khelds, their my main and favorite AT but even I can't stand for this statement. For one, I don't back the Khelds doing more for an 8 man team then the VEATs. Two there is now way a Kheld is worse soloing then a Defender even Pre-I13. Veats just got more with their Leadership, pets, buffs/debuffs then the Khelds, who really don't give much to the team other then another hammer to hit the enemy. As for soloing, you'd be calling up an optimum build Defender and even then if the Khelds at worst are comparable I would be straight dumbfounded.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry you disagree, but I've found khelds to be extremely powerful in PvP and PvE on teams and kinda wimpy solo. All the leadership buffs from VEATS don't matter when a) recharge is being debuffed or b) when all the enemy's def is being debuffed. I had my Human Only PB on an 8 man team once, all blasters/scrappers/a tank and me. I was the 'healer' with glowing touch. We PWNED the entire mish, and yes, I kept EVERYONE alive.
YMMV...but I stand by my statement:
Kheldians Teamed >> VEATS >> Kheldians Solo
but I'll add one more piece:
Kheldians Teamed with VEATS >> Kheldians Teamed >> VEATS Teamed >> VEATS solo >> Kheldians Solo
A solo VEAT is stronger than a solo Kheld.
