I think you're in a "have your cake and eat it too" kind of situation here. I suspect the choice is going to come down to perma-hasten or having endurance.
I dunno if you're going to be able to do both effectively. -
The version of SetPoint that works is 4.80
Not sure how it interacts with your keyboard though, but it should let the mouse be recognized. Worth a shot anyway.
You can download it here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_lo...setpoint/6076/
And yeah, I tried disabling UAC and putting various things into compatibility mode...nothing worked. As soon as I popped over to the older version, bam, everything's good again. -
I had this problem with the newer versions of SetPoint. I also have an MX revoluton.
I actually had to scout out an old version for it to work right. VERY annoying. Not sure what version I found (as I'm not on my windows install at the moment).
But if you can find an older version from before they switched over to officially supporting windows 7, that might work better for you.
EDIT: Give me a few minutes and I'll reboot into windows and tell you what version I'm running. -
Yep. Our trial kinda sucks.
The devs know it does too, but they've had to put restrictions in due to money farmers. It doesn't stop them, but it does make it that much harder to get in and advertise.

Quote:Used in the middle of a sentence it indicates a pause...like so. (Perhaps not grammatically correct, but it works well enough as a convention when what you're typing is supposed to be spoken)Sniff...
I love to use my 3 periods...
Its a nice way for me to make a pause on something I am saying...
But, then, I construct my sentences with portuguese grammar rules on my mind...
However at the end of a sentence, the meaning is much more ambiguous... -
This. I had a habit of doing it too, but I broke myself of it mostly. The PM guy got a bit too up in arms about it, but he is right. It makes whatever you were saying sound negative or that you're hesitant about something.

Quote:Phase shift powers work this way. Specifically I'm thinking of Hibernate. It will detoggle itself after a set duration. So the tech does exist. There's also the issue of duration. I'm not aware of any toggle in the game, or previously in the game, which has a duration and detoggles itself when the duration runs out.
EDIT: Also I can't think of a power that has an effect when you detoggle it but I also can't think of a reason why it couldn't be set up that way. With the standard disclaimer of I have no idea how their powers system is set up and all that, so I could be totally off base. It doesn't sound out of the realm of possibility for things that could be programmed.
But yeah, I agree it's probably not going to happen. -
Yeah, I don't think it's in the cards, but you never know.
Doing something like that would require changes to massive numbers of costume parts and texture files. Some players would complain (because their characters don't look like they did before), rioting would break out and frogs would rain from the sky...
Ok, maybe not those last two.
But anyway, it's unlikely to happen before they move on to something like a CoH2 or whatever. -
Yep, you need to run the cape mission before they'll give you the aura mission.
EDIT: *looks up* Huh? I was pretty sure the contact offered only one at a time. -
No official word about when the vets are getting into the beta. Only thing you can do is wait and see really...
The only time frame offered was that they would be part of one of the waves. And not necessarily the first wave. -
Quote:More or less. It's mostly just useless, like the old star rating system. It's not exactly 1 vote to 1 point of rep. People with higher rep have a bigger effect when they vote.So what the hell is this exactly? If I'm at -140 rep, does that mean that these 140 people hate me so much that they had to "ARGHH MUST DISAPPROVE POST!" ?
You can turn off it's display in your forum profile settings. -
Quote:The bulk of them are the same as before.I'm looking at the i17 notes and I saw something that caught my eye which said "Mission Quality of Life Improvements." How different are the missions now than before?
There's some newer content added in the past couple issues that have some neat twists that aren't in the older missions (especially the new arcs added with i17). They got a lot of new tech added in over the past year or so. Going Rogue (the expansion coming in August) should use a lot of that stuff in it's missions.
But for the most part, the core of the game feels very much like it did. So if you found it repetitive then...eh...not sure you won't have the same opinion of the game now. It's not drastically different.
Give it a shot though!
EDIT:
Just to give you a quick overview on what's changed (note, did not list everything).
Issue 12 added new missions regarding the midnight squad with some neat stuff. Also Cimerora is connected with that being an entirely new zone (mostly playing host to a new TF which is fairly cool). Also added were the villain Epic Archetypes. UI improvements (configurable power trays being the most visible)
I13 added Day Jobs and Patrol XP (you get stuff for logging off in certain areas, and you get a 1.5xp bonus for a time when you're logged off anywhere), the ability to have two builds per character with seperate powers and enhancements (switchable at level up contacts), Shield defense and Pain Domination powersets, Level Pacts, the new Merit Reward system and some new arcs in Cimeroa
I14 added the Mission Architect, allowing players to create their own missions and storylines.
I15 added two brand new Task Forces, Barracuda for the villains and Dr. Kahn for heroes with some really cool missions in there. Also updated the cape mission so it's entirely brand new. Revamp to how Dominators work (removed damage bonus from domination, made dominator attacks do more damage by default)
I16 added Power customization (which I suspect you've already found), they replaced the difficulty slider options with things that are a lot more customizable, pets zone with you, and the biggest change super sidekicking (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Sidekick)
I17 updated Positron with some new tech missions, added new story arcs and ultra mode graphics, new auction house UI, Animated tails, epic ATs at 20 instead of 50, new Vigilance change for defenders (giving a damage buff if you're on a team of 3 or less, and sending e-mail attachments of items/influence.
Lots of powersets are availible to different ATs too (look up Powerset Proliferation for more info) -
Quote:Sadly, the Acer Aspire 5740 is a laptop. So the OP is stuck.
Sad face.
City doesn't play well with Intel chipsets. There are real video cards available as cheap as $50 that would be leagues ahead of your onboard video.
EDIT: Nice specs otherwise. I'd venture that the problem is related to the Intel graphics. -
As pointed out above, "Never say never" is appropriate here.
But we haven't hear anything.
And yes, they are. They're hoping it will be a resolution to John Gabriel's Greater Internet F-Wad Theory (Warning: Strong language if that bothers you) -

Quote:Oh yes. It's all part of the devs plans to go into the prescription eye wear market after ruining all of our eyes with their tiny text.I too doubt it will be fixed. The silence is extremely obvious.
...
Really? You think they're just going to leave it as is? Just because they're not talking about it doesn't mean it's not being looked at. -
I usually go the first 10 or so levels blind to get a feel for the powersets, then make a 1-50 plan. The plan usually ends up being revised a ton as I level up and find better ways of doing things.
So yeah, I plan, but it's mostly to keep me from doing something stupid. I don't always follow my first plan all the way to 50. -
Might want to check for a sound card driver update too. Although with a onboard sound card there might not be anything more recent.

From the other thread, the temporary work around was to add -project coh to skip the updater.
Next patch though he'll have to re-download everything again. -
I use the ESDF method. WASD but moved over slightly so I have more bindable keys.
Powers I tend to use 1-4, maybe 5 or 6 but I try to keep it 1-4. I also use tray 2 and 3 for the ctrl+ and alt+ numbers. The number key-ed powers are typically attacks.
Then I use q, a and z and w for more powers If I need more room I typically bind x c and sometimes v. Also the shift+q,z,w keys are usually bound to something too. For characters with buffs, I typically use the w key for a team cycle bind.
Global chat binds are on m, n, and b.
I also have a Logitech MX Revolution with several buttons bound to function keys so F7 through F12 get bound to various powers too, along with the button4 and button5 on my mouse. So I have the forward and back motion of the side scroll wheel, side scroll wheel click, main scroll wheel tilt left/right and the quick search button bound to stuff.
I could go into where I bind powers based on functionality so things are roughly the same between characters (like toggle armors tend to be bound to the forward back motion of my side scroll wheel, AoE holds get bound to c, etc.), but I'd rather not bore people further -
How fast is it downloading? There was just a patch yesterday which it might be applying instead of actually downloading things. It looks an awful lot like it's redownloading 3Gb again but it'll go a lot faster.
EDIT: Also, the technical forum is in the Development section, 6 forums down from the top. -
Quote:I had a faultline mission set the other day and it took me randomly to a door in Kings Row (no mission at that location, at least that I had)I'd second what WarronPeace said. I've not heard of any situations where the teleporter hasn't worked and the user remember to set the mission. Although, it's possible some missions that don't have a destination might cause weird behavior (i.e. hunts), although I've not heard that being a problem.
So yeah...it could be a bit wonky sometimes.
That's the only time it's screwed up for me though.
