Logitech SetPoint doesn't recognize COH?

Hi there,
every since I installed Windows 7 my OS doesn't seem to register the fact that the COH client is running. At least my support stuff doesn't. My G-Series keyboard doesnot switch to it (which I solved by setting the COH setup as default setting) and even worse the Set Point Softwar flat out feuses to work with it. I use an MX Revolution and I'm really missing my extra keys. I even manualy fed it the COH.exe as a process but it still acts like the game doesn't even exist. Even if I change the default key setup the special keys won't work in COH anymore. Did anyone esle have this problem?

Yep and yep
You actualy open a path to the thing for it so yeah I got right .exe. But if even the G-Series which usually finds everything on it's own doesn't get it I'm really worried. Well not really but it's anoying...

There was an old thread last year about this issue. I'm not sure if it is still relevant, but you can take a look.

UAC might be a problem (as pointed out in that thread). Dunno, because, as I said I would, I disabled it.

Anyway, I have a Logitech MX 620 mouse, and Setpoint. The Control Center Version is 4.80.103 and the Driver Version is 4.82.11. It works fine for me.

My mouse has 6 buttons: Left Click, Right Click, Middle Click, Front Thumb, Back Thumb, and Search. And I can "tilt" the scroll wheel left or right for two additional "buttons".

For me, Set Point the first option is Mouse Settings. It has 3 things: 1. Select Mouse, 2. Select Button, and 3. Select Task.

For buttons 4-8, under the image of the mouse, is 1a. Select Program. I clicked the Manage Programs ... button under that, and in the window that popped up, I clicked Add ..., and browsed to cityofheroes.exe. That then allows me to assign buttons to do specific things when cityofheroes.exe, i.e. the game, is running.

I also went to Mouse Game Settings, and disabled Game Detection.

I hope this helps.

I had this problem with the newer versions of SetPoint. I also have an MX revoluton.

I actually had to scout out an old version for it to work right. VERY annoying. Not sure what version I found (as I'm not on my windows install at the moment).

But if you can find an older version from before they switched over to officially supporting windows 7, that might work better for you.

EDIT: Give me a few minutes and I'll reboot into windows and tell you what version I'm running.

The version of SetPoint that works is 4.80

Not sure how it interacts with your keyboard though, but it should let the mouse be recognized. Worth a shot anyway.

You can download it here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_lo...setpoint/6076/

And yeah, I tried disabling UAC and putting various things into compatibility mode...nothing worked. As soon as I popped over to the older version, bam, everything's good again.

Thanks everyone! Of cvourse now my connection at home had to go down but as soon as it's back I'll try
1. Turn of UAC
2. Turn of SetPoint Game Detection
3. Try an older SetPoint Version.

Hopefully one of those will help

Wow, sounds like you are using the exact setup that I'm using (or close enough.)

I'm using the same mouse and the G15 (Original not the updated with fewer G-Keys) and I'm running Win 7 Home Prem 64bit. Where things differ for us is that I'm having zero issues, however, I did have to DL the latest G15 drivers and reset all my G-Keys (even though they showed that they were set to my key presses) and that may be your problem.

As for the mouse, sorry I have zero ideas as I've have zero issues with it.

Good luck hope this helps some.

Shutting of the UAC did the trick and I don't care for it anyway. Life is good
Thank you for the advice everyone!
