Adamastor?

I've been playing off and on for a few months now and I'd never heard of him. I only found him by accident while looking up something else on Paragon Wiki.

My questions are, does he really spawn as often as the wikipage claims -greater than every 4-6 hours?

Is there a zone announcement I've just never seen to announce the spawn like with Babbage or Jurassik, or is there no announcement at all?

IF I wanted to hunt him, how many team members would I need and is there any strategy I need to know about?

Are there any other obsure GMs I need to know about?

Adamastor is one of the ...weaker... GM's. I think he's announced by something to the affect of "supernatural event in Dark Astoria"

There's not really much to say about him. He's a typical zone Giant Monster. Take along something that can kill regen, and just about any team can take him. The big problem is finding him, since one of his spawning methods means he won't appear until somebody actually touches a spawn point: Hidden Spawn.

On the plus side, since anybody who has taken a jaunt in the lovely Dark Astoria (Seriously the zone needs an arc or 5 to show off its awesomness) will tell you, its pretty foggy in there. The big boy has glowing eyes, which render from a quite a distance. so if you can get up i nthe air, and hes about, its fairly easy to spot I find.

I have definitely seen the message being "Adamastor has appeared in Dark Astoria"

Thank you, Champion.

I have the sneaking suspicion that it's "Adamastor has risen in Dark Astoria", but yes, there's a Hero Zone Event message that announces him by name.

He's the easiest GM to locate IMO. Since Dark Astoria is so seldom visited and when it is, it's usually by a solo player farming BP.

Add to that the fact that you can fly up and even if you don't see his eyes, as long as your in the vicinity of the graveyard TAB will generally land right on him 1st.

Well done.
I have a 50 in every AT, but Scrappers and Dominators are my favorites.

Yes, but glowy bits on monsters can be seen through the Dark Astoria fog to almost the very edge of the un-fogged character rendering range (as controlled by the Character Detail slider, IIRC; and on the graveyard outdoor map(s?) - for example, last night on the graveyard map, I could see Baphomet opposite me on the other side of the chasm because of his glow, even though I couldn't even see the island in the middle).

Yes that's about the normal but like most GMs once he spawns he stays until some team defeats him

Yes I'm not sure of the exact wording at the moment but anytime he spawn there is an announcement of activity in Dark Astoria

As mentioned Adamastor is pretty weak compared to some other GMs. One 8 man team can take him down with little trouble. I have done it with a 4 man team consisting on 1 Warshade, 2 Controllers and 1 Defender

lol that's sort of hard to say which one's DO you know about?

Kraken in Perez Park
Babbage in Boomtown (also spawn in Skyway) during the Synapse Task Force)
Lusca in Independence Port
Adamastor in Dark Astoria
Jurassik in Crey's Folly
Eochia in Croatoa
Jack in Arms in Croatoa
Sally in Croatoa ( very easy to defeat.. with one blow from brawl)
The Kronos Titan in Founders Falls (spawns only after a mission against Malta is completed when assigned by Agent Crimson in Peregrin)

If you want help finding him while he's hidden, there are available that will show most, if not all, of the spawn points.

That's the event message for the Halloweeen Banner event.

As for other GMs, Wicked Wendy has mentioned about every blue one, but red-side also got a couple of them.

Deathsurge spawns in Cap Au Diable after you beat 100 Gremlins
Ghost of Scrapyard spawns if you beat enough Scrapyarders.
Caleb spawns in the Nerva Archipelago if you beat 100 Spectral Demons during the day. He'll spawn the following night.
The Arachnos Flier spawns in Grandville every couple of hours by itself and leaves the zone after a short while.

So actually, two out of four red-side GMs are pretty annoying to get. Spawning Caleb is a bit of a chore and the Arachnos Flier spawns at random intervals but leaves shortly afterwards so you need to be quick about assembling a team and taking it down.

Oh, also, you can fight the Arachnos Flier blue-side during the Statesman Task Force and you can fight the Kronos Titan red-side on the Lord Recluse Strike Force.

Edit: I think this is the post that gave me this many green bars. I'd thank whoever did that in PMs but since I don't know the obviously handsome stranger's name I'll just thank him or her here instead. Thank you, obviously handsome stranger.

I think Lusca's pretty easy to spot

While we're on that subject, in Paragon City, the Kronos Titan locates you instead.

Usually with a volley of long range missiles.

Kronos spawns in quite a few different zones. It depends on what zone you're in when you trigger him, and if he's allowed to spawn there. (Not allowed to spawn in Atlas Park or The Hive to my knowledge, and probably some other places).

And of course, there are special GMs spawned during holiday events and the like, and hundreds of nameless GMs on monster island in PI.

And we didn't mention the... I'm forgetting the name now... clockwork knight that spawns in King's Row, but you only get the badge if you prevent him from spawning.

Paladin

Others that haven't been mentioned (though they may actually be AVs despite their giant size) include Hamidon and Lannaru(sp?) the Mad.

Also, does the Jade Spider only appear during a TF? That thing was a p.i.t.a. to defeat during the anniversary event.

The Jade Spider appears during the Mender Silos Task Force as an AV and in the Mender Silos Strike Force as an ally.

The Jade Spider is pretty cheaty. At first it's just another psionic AV, but when you "beat" it it comes back with full health, one level higher, and with a psionic damage aura that's so huge even Blasters at the edge of their attack range get hurt. You're gonna need plenty of oranges and purples to take that one on without team-wiping repeatedly.

Technically, I believe those are just "Monsters" rather than GMs.

Dec out.

Technically, but they use the GM code, not the AV code (which Monsters use).
