Trial Accounts...

In general I have no problem with the trial account, except for two things. First is the "Trial Account - Buy Full Version" window/button that floats in the center of the screen. Yes tou can move it, but as soon as you load a new zone/instance it pops right back to the center of the screen. Drives me nuts. I understand they want people to subscribe because it is how they make money, but at the same time it is enough to drive people away.

Second thing is... level 14 comes way to quickly. Again which I know works into the wanting people to subscribe thing, but man its annoying. I'd subscribe in a heart beat if I could, but I'm currently unemployed. Really do enjoy the game.

Oh well. Just wanted to rant/ramble for a moment. Not even sure if this is the right place to post this.

Totally agree. I don't think it'd be an issue if the window would just stick where the player puts it. Like all the other windows in the game. I like to hope it's just a bug that hasn't been fixed; if it's intentional, it's moronic.

I may have joined long before the trial account restrictions were put in place, but that doesn't mean I can't look at them and see problems.

Another big issue I see is that there is no means for trial account players to reply to tells, so when a team leader is polite and sends a /tell before inviting to the team, the trial player can't respond, and the team leader assumes you're AFK.

Also, trial players can't create teams, no matter the circumstances. Not even with other trial players. There have been several cases where a couple or a group of friends get trial accounts together, but are unable to team together when they get in the game, because none of them can create the team. The only way they can team is if they get an extra player to invite all of them, and then quit; god forbid if someone disconnects.

Yeah I'd have no problem with it if it weren't for the fact it constantly snaps back to the center of the screen. I've tried ignorning it, but it just gets annoying.

It would be nice to at least be able to reply to someone who has sent me a tell, yeah.

Yeah. It's annoying. Trial Characters could have a flag on them labeling them as Trial Accounts.

He knows that. What I THINK he meant was along the lines of: "Does it help if I apologize that it's not free?"

Anyway, regarding hitting 14 too fast - my suggestion is try a different type of character. If your situation does change, and you can subscribe, you'll have a headstart on which characters you like to play and you'll have at least one who has a good start.

Also, if you get to level 14 too quickly, you can dumb down OR amp up the settings for how tough the missions are (levels and amount of enemies) which should allow you to make the game progress slower for you, and also allow you to do multiple contacts at all levels without out-leveling them.

Yep. Our trial kinda sucks. The devs know it does too, but they've had to put restrictions in due to money farmers. It doesn't stop them, but it does make it that much harder to get in and advertise.

Way back when I found the WoW trial to be similar to the way our trial version is today, including money caps and no broadcast tell ability.

One suggestion that might make things more fun & interesting;

In your Player Comment, type something like "Trial Account - Blind Invites WELCOME!"

And you may find yourself on teams more often than if you didn't.

If you think that sucks, you should check out Aion's trials. It'll expire after 3 days after creation, 5 hours of usage, or once you ding level 7...). And they still have RMTers out the wazoo (or at least they did a few months back when I bought the game).

Our trials may not be the best, but they're definitely not the worst.

Yeah guess I didn't read it right. My comment definetely wasn't to suggest I thought the game should be free. My biggest issue was the dang floating Trial Account window in the middle of the screen. The rest was just letting off a little steam about silly frustrations.
