  1. Just popped in to say thanks for the trade! I also sent the inf via email since we weren't on at the same time, and it was all cool. Figured tossing my word in wouldn't hurt.
  2. I went on a big badging kick for a little bit on my Invulnerability/Ice Melee Tanker. He was my first character and my first 50 so naturally I spend some extra time on him. I'm not nearly as accomplished as some of the more hardcore badge collectors though... I'm in the 600s somewhere right now... though I still haven't gotten a lot of the new exploration badges so I might do that soon.

Really any AT/Powerset combo can pull off badging, some more than others of course. The real question is what can YOU stick with because getting serious about badges takes up a lot of playtime, especially if you want to get up into the 1200s.
  3. What about with the vouchers in I20.5?
  4. Elec Control is a pretty awesome set. I was the same way before I rolled my Elec/Earth Dom. I saw the powers and thought they were underwhelming, but you really don't understand how well the controls stack until you play it. My Dom can shut down entire mobs without mobs even noticing I'm there. Then I can go in melee and take 'em down with no aggro, in the middle of a group. That sleep patch pulses so if you attack one, it'll just get hit with the sleep again after you wake it up. It really is a great set.
  5. Every time a thread like this pops up, I always mention the same things. I'd kill for Spines on a Brute and either a Dark Assault for Doms or a Dark Miasma for Controllers. I don't think I'd ever play any other two characters again after that.

Some nice-to-haves would be Energy Aura (and Melee I guess, though I have no interest in that set) for Scrappers and Poison for Corruptors.

I'll also second (or third, or whatever) the request for more Blaster secondaries. I kinda feel bad for how few secondary sets they have. Really though, I would enjoy if they just proliferated whatever is proliferated. More options are always better.

However, I will wait to see how it plays out in game before thinking negatively on it.

I also still don't get why we're keeping the no capes at level one when we have so many ways to work around that. I'd think it'd be far better to appeal to a new potential player by having regular capes, right there to use at level one when they first log in (without buying any boosters) to make a character.

blah blah blah... done voicing concerns and back to enjoying the game and thinking about the awesome things in that list!
Basically, all of this. I was going to wait until I got my Warshade to 50 to start seriously attempting the incarnate stuff on any one character, but I'm going to have to reconsider that 'cause I want these new shiny things.

    I'll be damned

I wonder if we'll see a small influx of buffing characters now. I know of quite a few people off the top of my head that refused to play old buffing characters or make new ones because of how much they disliked repeating buffs for everyone. I know that definitely changes really the only thing I disliked about my Plant/Kin. But yeah, I also wonder how many people who didn't like certain buffs for whatever reason are gonna be upset.

And I'm really glad we got more options for Lore pets.

[Edit] And hot damn, I don't think I need to explain why those vouchers are awesome.
  8. I like leveling too much to just stop for the iTrials. I've only run a few on my main. The rest of my time has been spent leveling my Dominator who is now 50... now I'm leveling a Warshade and holy hell it's addicting. I think I might stick with him and try to get all the incarnate stuff done on him 'cause there's nothing as satisfying as hitting both mires and killing everything.

And I don't even have Eclipse yet.
  9. I really, really wish I could reroll my Spines/SR Scrapper as a Brute instead.

I also wish I could make myself a MA/Energy Aura Scrapper.

And I've ALSO always wanted a Mind/Dark Controller or Dom. I'd take either, to be honest.

Most of the rules are actually there to protect the team from the leader (me). They make sure I don't become overbearing and micromanage the team. The second rule is a sort of "catch all." Rule four is only there to prevent a scrapperlocker from turning into a leech because he's dead and waiting for someone to come save his hind end. Two of those rules are there for Fight Club references. Rule six is there to instill people with confidence.
After joining a couple TFs that you've led, I've sort of taken these rules into my own teams as well. It's much more fun and relaxed that way when everyone can just play how they're comfortable playing without some arbitrary structure that can step on any one person's toes. I can't remember the last time it's failed me.

I don't really understand people who are uptight about what each AT is doing on a team. Combat with 8 people is really just lots of chaos, and especially in the lower levels, team roles tend to overlap. I know all of my characters are capable of handling stuff on their own to varying degrees... and I don't think any of them NEED any other role involved to do so.

  11. Yeah, had a blast! I was there as Draconic and Maximal, and then Suspense for a very brief period.

I'm definitely looking forward to more events like these.
  12. I'm not nearly as bad... for instance, I only really play on Virtue, and even then I still have nine unfilled (locked) slots. Of the characters I have, 11 are level 50. Then I have one at 36, and a handful around level 20. My altitis keeps me so frequently deleting and creating characters in those non-50 slots that it's almost sad, really. I have absolutely no idea how many characters I've made. I can go weeks at a time doing this without playing my 50s once. Once the EU servers merge with us, I'll probably roll characters on Union too, which will only make it worse.

    Whatever, I have fun. :P

    Best power ever!

Oh snap. In no particular order:

Full Auto, because it's incredibly satisfying just blasting everything with craptons of bullets.
Drain Psyche because it makes you unstoppable.
Carrion Creepers because seeing your vines of death spring from the ground helps build self-confidence.
Fulcrum Shift, because it helps you kill harder.
Poison Gas Trap, because who wants enemies with regen?
    Acid Mortar, because yes.
    Footstomp, because BAM!
Against All Odds + Shield Charge, because while great by themselves, they work so well together.
Lightning Storm, because he's pretty and he throws lightning at stuff
Static Field + Conductive Aura, because I don't like enemies with end.

And of course, Flight. Other games don't capture the fun of flight as well as this one does.

If I'm not mistaken, the context of this entire argument is in team play.
  15. I'll echo what other people are saying... when you get bored of one character, don't delete it. That thing that made it fun up to that point might seem fun again in the future. Really, this is a game and the whole point is playing something fun. The more characters you have available, the bigger the chance is that someone in you roster has something you'll feel like playing.

I admit, I'm trying to teach myself something somewhat related as well. I'm really good at grinding to 50 so I can get that crazy level 50 build that I made in Mids slotted... but often I push that so much that I force myself through leveling when I'm bored with the character... so the character doesn't see much playtime at 50. Alts help tired chracters feel fresh. If I had more alts before, my list of 50s would probably be very different.

So yeah, don't delete. Obviously your preferences fluctuate, so you never know if you might find an old character fun again.
  16. My vote goes for Traps as well. It's got amazing debuffs (crazy -regen, -res, -def, -dmg...) and FFG is a great source of defense that, combined with Scorpion Shield, is really easy to softcap. Combine that with Dark's -tohit and you'd be golden. Dark's got Dark Pit and Tenebrous Tentacles that not only help make trapping safer than it alreay is, but keep foes in your debuffs as well.

Also, Traps is really, really fun. I think a lot of people are steered away from it because they think it might be slow or something, buy like someone said earlier, you're typically upfront tailing the Tanker/Brute in all the action. It's surprisingly fast-paces compared to what I first thought Traps was gonna be like when I rolled it up.
  17. Crashed

    Burned Out

I'm not tired of running the TFs 'cause I'm not running them nonstop. Instead, I just got my 3 mains level-shifted, and now whatever happens happens. I'm not gonna go chasing shards or notices. If I happen to get them, great. But it's not like if I don't get them on all my characters now, I'll die. In fact... it gives me time to still level alts and do other things.

I guess that's what I like about the WTF. I can do what I do, and when I decide I want to do more incarnatey stuff, I know exactly what to do.
  18. Full Auto. It's one of my favorite individual powers ever.

To be fair, I haven't played Dual Pistols to a significant level and I've never played Archery ever.
  19. The first time a character really clicked with me was with my Plant/Kin, but rather than making me only want to play him forever, he made me want to play only control sets forever instead. So once I'm done... I'll have a bunch of awesome Controllers and Dominators to fall back on, which are by far my favorite ATs now (though they took me 2 years to finally find. :|)

Still, there's a few select 50s of mine that I'll still go back and play regularly. But finding how much I love both my Plant/Kin and my Dom have made even more of my 50s rather inactive. I guess you could say I went from having altitis to having a very less severe case of altitis... maybe?
  20. Crashed

    *Waves*

Heeeey, I remember you I think. Welcome back, anyway.
  21. I'm pretty sure the male torn options don't show skin. They should add it though 'cause I've wanted to make mummies and zombies and stuff that would totally use it.
  22. In a fight against Coldcrash...

He'd be almost unkillable, so the team would have to run around the map and collect something like Mental Enhancers that allow you to psychically break through his power and hurt him, all while he's trying to fight you... and then at about 50% health a cutscene would play where he turns into a huge, hulking yeti that quickly murders your characters, forcing you to delete whatever character you were fighting him with. SUCKS.
  23. Let's see. I've got... 16 total characters. And then a plethora of really low-level alts that I'm not counting 'cause I haven't gotten significant levels in them yet. (If I did count them, I'd have 26 characters... which is all the slots I have...)

Favorite AT: Controllers/Dominators. The edge might go to Doms overall just 'cause seeing Domination! everywhere is so satisfying, although my absolute favorite to play is my Plant/Kin.

    1 Blaster: 50
    1 Controller: 40
    1 Defender: 50
    2 Scrappers: 50 and 22
    1 Tanker: 50
    1 Peacebringer: 50
    1 Warshade: 20
    1 Brute: 50
    1 Stalker: 50
    1 Mastermind: 50
    1 Dominator: 33
    2 Corruptors: 50 and 20
    1 Arachnos Widow: 20
    1 Arachnos Soldier: 50

And then most of the rest of my slots are filled with Controllers/Doms that I really want to try.

Favorite Powerset: OH MAN THIS IS HARD. It's a tie between Invulnerability, Plant Control, Super Strength, and Traps. Assault Rifle might be up there just 'cause of Full Auto, too. I'll just list the powerset combos I have instead of counting 'cause I don't ever play a powerset twice. :|

    Invulnerability/Ice Melee Tanker
    Necromancy/Poison Mastermind
    Human Peacebringer
    Crab Spider
    Assault Rifle/Mental Manipulation Blaster
    Dark Melee/Ninjitsu Stalker
    Fiery Melee/Shield Defense Scrapper
    Super Strength/Willpower Brute
    Storm Summoning/Energy Blast Defender
    Sonic Attacks/Traps Corruptor
    Plant Control/Kinetics Controller
    Electric Control/Earth Assault Dominator
    Triform Warshade
Arachnos Widow (that I'll probably go Night Widow with)
    Spines/Super Reflexes Scrapper
    Dual Pistols/Pain Domination Corruptor

    Potential Controllers: Earth/Rad, Grav/TA, Ill/Emp
Potential Dominators: Fire/Psi, Mind/Ice, Ice/Thorns... might switch it up and go Fire/Thorns and Ice/Psi instead though. Can't decide.

My favorite COMBOS are definitely the Inv/Ice Tanker, Fire/Shield Scrapper, AR/Mental Blaster, Plant/Kin Controller (which goes in the number 1 spot), and SS/WP Brute. The Elec/Earth Dom and Spines/SR Scrapper might make it to that list, but not until they're closer to 50.

Favorite Origin: I think I default to Mutant or Tech. I think my favorites are Magic and Science though.

    3 Science
    3 Magic
    3 Mutant
4 Natural (thanks to my 3 Natural EATs)
    3 Tech

Huh. Apparently I'm pretty balanced when it comes to origins.

Favorite alignment? Hero. I've got 9 heroes and 7 villains.

    Invuln/Ice

Yeah, I forgot to mention that this is pretty much purely for incarnate-level play. I exemplar on this guy rarely enough now that I didn't really consider it at all.

First off, if I shift around some slots and put the Gladiator proc in Unstoppable instead of Tough, then I can take the extra slot I have in RPD/Tough and put it somewhere else. I'd leave the Steadfast +3 def IO in RPD and leave a generic Resistance IO in Tough. I already don't use Unstoppable enough to where that Recharge IO is vital, and that'll give me a free slot. I agree that Health/Stamina are somewhat overslotted... taking out the Performance Shifter proc would also give me another slot with really no penalty. So I can stick one Recharge IO in Build Up and then stick another slot in Frost.

In Frost, I can either put the Positron's Blast Damage/Range in the 6th slot for ED-capped damage as well as more range, or just go with a generic Range IO. I'm not sure which one would be better, but I'm leaning toward the Posi Blast IO. EDIT: Note that the Cardiac Rare is also giving it a range boost that I don't think Mids shows.

Also, the reason I have CJ 3-slotted is just 'cause the LotG +recharge and Defense makes me like... .2% away from the E/N softcap and that's just enough to drive the OCD in me a little nuts.

Hover's a nice source of defense, but the main problem I see with it is having to detoggle it to drop an Ice Patch, since you have to be on the ground for it. Still, with Hover (and the Oblits replaced with Scirocco's), I can keep the S/L/E/N softcapped and bump the F/C defense up to 41.9%... as well as being able to replace the Mako set in Ice Sword with a set of Hecatombs, which more than makes up for the loss of recharge from taking out the Obliterations.

This is what I came up with for if I decide to go with Hover:

Obviously the build that uses Hover's got some nicer numbers, but it boils down to whether or not I would want to detoggle it (and lose some defense) every time I want to use Ice Patch.
