  1. Isn't there already an "All Things Art: Super Boosters"?

There is the sticky up at the top of the forum, with some post going on 2-4 months old, and some of the contacts never responding or being online. If you hang out in atlas, you'll get invited to Random Sg #2874 or one of the TWO established non-RP sgs I've seen recruiting there in the last 2 weeks.
I've seen plenty of folks complain about groups broadcasting about their SG in channels, broadcast, etc., and yet if they don't do it other folks will complain that no groups are recruiting. So kinda hard to do anything without having someone harp on you about it. But I do know of several established RP groups and have seen plenty of recruitment lately, so it's not like it isn't happening.

And I'm chalking up that whole "groups being insular" thing to everyone has varying characters, RP styles, etc. If I were to take my proud, noble hero to AP and RP him hanging out, then someone takes their dark, brooding vigilante and tries to RP with me, how does that work out? Conflict would instantly arise, my hero would try to arrest the vig, and all in all it'd become a mess. I'd get stressed out, and probably not want to play for a bit. That's how things like these cliques form. Most folks don't like RPing that much outside of their group because they'll bump into trolls, conflicting characters, or all around bad character concepts/RPers.

Society is full of cliques. You hang out with people that make you comfortable. Just try to find a clique that you feel comfortable with and try to hang out with them. It is possible, just takes a little work.

Maybe it's my play schedule but I don't see much recruiting going on there.
I was a member of RP Virtue for two years, and I think I saw maybe three genuine hero teams get formed and saw around one general team formed a month, if I was lucky. So it's never been that great for recruiting. And the wacky antics tended to get either dramatic or offensive far too often. I think we need a fresh new channel for RP, to be honest. I'll have to check this one out.
  5. So what do you propose they do to make bases updated and worthwhile? How would a large percentage of the playerbase benefit from a massive amount of work pulled from other projects like new content, costumes, powers, etc. and dedicated to bases? I'm kind of curious.

    Cheers.
Plenty of SGs are actively recruiting, actually. It's just a matter of finding and picking one. Most people just don't like the themes of certain groups and so they don't join them.
  8. Never felt slighted, either. And I got a villain to 50 on a low pop server. Took me hella long. I was actually glad they did it, 'cause restricting an entire AT to level 50, something a number of people still haven't achieved due to time constraints and CoH's encouraging of altitis, always rubbed me the wrong way.

Never a bad idea to improve a flawed system, no matter how long the system's been in place.
  9. To be fair, IOs are what broke the game. Incarnate powers are only helping things a bit. If you want a challenge, up the difficulty or take off your incarnate powers. We have plenty of options to debuff players/buff enemies via those options implemented with Ouroboros's introduction. Time to start using them.

And if someone wants to use the pieces for purposes that aren't steampunk? Then what?
  11. Check out the Supergroup Directory at the top of the Virtue forums. Plenty of great SGs listed up there with plenty of details about each group. If you're still having trouble finding that right group, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help ya out.
  12. I honestly don't like the new faces. They look low detail, generic, and emotionless, much like most of the new faces we seem to get. The whole wax look just makes them look creepy. Really wish we could get some faces with character or emotion.
  13. Randy Marsh is the greatest character on the show.

Considering new costume pieces have clipped within themselves, such as the Warrior or Gladiator shoulder parts, I don't think that argument works so well any more, either.

No, they're just a couple generic faces without emotion and are high definition. Kinda look creepy, in my opinion.
  16. The Steam Pack power lasts for thirty seconds and recharges in thirty seconds.
  17. This pack is cool, but disappointing at the same time. Turns out the new face tech is just giving each gender two new, higher definition faces which are kinda creepy and still emotionless. And although a lot of these costume pieces are cool, it's upsetting just how much of them you can't color.

The biggest example is the assault rifle, which you can only color the handle of. Everything else is stuck brown and gold. Also not a fan of being unable to color the backpack white or gray. It just makes it look like it has a brown rust. And with the hats, you can't color your hair. Just the hat. Also not a fan of only women getting belts and only men getting coats.

Overall, kinda disappointed, but I'm sure people will love it regardless.
  18. We already have a lot of tech armor, with more on the way if we ever get those IDF pieces. These boosters need to cover niches haven't already been done. Give the players pieces to cover as many themes as possible.

I suggest we get some sort of Tribal/Egyptian pack next.
  19. Any word for a fix for the AE's profanity filter bug?

This guy's stuff is legendary, let me tell you. I just don't want to share any examples in a public forum s'all. Pretty funny stuff, though. Unless it happens to you. Then I imagine it's infuriating.
  21. No. But an Ouroboros arc that takes you to the 19th century would be neat.

One question. What exactly does this new face tech do? Looking at the faces, they don't look much different. Just that we got new faces. But, unless I'm wrong, it was mentioned that we got new facial technology, which implies we can do more with them than we can do now. Didn't really see much different than what we can already do with 'em.
  22. The sky's falling in CoH. That hole is actually from where a chunk of sky used to be.
